Boomer crushed my optimism

I was optimistic that Mike Brown would be more aggressive in Free Agency, because of the trouble getting people to attend games last year. On twitter I asked Boomer what he thought. Here's the exchange.

walzav31: U know Mike Brown as well as anyone. Do u think the horrific attendance last season will force him to spend more in FA?

7boomeresiason: LOL,hahahahahahahahahahaha, can't stop laughing!

Darn it

Is this genuine or just a piss take ??

Perhaps something has been lost in translation re the humour across the atlantic.

If, however, this is straight-up, it kinda frustrates me to the enth degree - the moneys in the kitty, the holes are obvious, the players are out there.......it ain't rocket science.

Boomer is a bitch.

He got his feelings hurt as the union rep when he played for the Bengals. He wasn't professional enough to not take it personally... and he asked to be traded.

Mike Brown actually liked Boomer and wanted to do right by him... so he did trade him. The result was drafting Klingler, and eventually Akili Smith trying to find a suitable replacement.

Boomer f**ked this franchise in the ass... and he still hates Mike Brown despite the fact that Brown gave him what he wanted.

F**k Boomer.

The sad thing is he came back to play for the team a second time, when nobody else wanted him.

I don't know about Boomer. The Bengals have pretty aggressively signed free agents the last few years. Some didn't work out, mostly at receiver. That is the way across the league. Free agents seem to rarely perform as well at their second team. Just as an example of some that did work out pretty well I'll point out our two free agent linebackers who played well this year. Our safety played well enough that some folks think he should be tagged. Boomer can't forgive Mike Brown. Players who don't win a Super Bowl during their careers, a group that includes the large majority of NFL players, presumabely like they fell a bit short. A select few, like Boomer, played for the Bengals and use that fact as an excuse. Chad falls in that category.
