We need Jets to lose one. I think they will. Question is whether Bengals can win last two. Don't think that's likely.

maybe bengals dont need to win against ravens because jets will lost to dolphins at last week as well.

Yeah. that would be best scenario. But it's hard to count on that.

as most of u guys know miami dolphins is my 2nd favorite team, i want dolphins beat jets no matter what, even if bengals dont need help lol

I hope the Bengals are taking notes on how to exploit the Ravens defense.

It looks to me like San Diego took notes of the last time the Bengals played the Ravens.

The Bengals had 483 yards without AJ Green.

...but didn't win.

That's not what you said though. You implied the Bengals don't already know how to exploit the Ravens defense... which is exactly what they did in the last meeting.

Add the AJ Green/Jimmy Smith matchup that was lacking in the last game... and there is plenty of reason for optimism.

My point, which I didn't give any specifics, was that I like how the Chargers used motion to tip what the Ravens were doing coverage-wise. Not sure how it applies to the last Ravens game unless we did the same thing and SD copied it from us. I honestly don't remember.

I am optimistic for the next two weeks and the opportunity that the Bengals have before them. Should be a fun couple of weeks.

From Reedys column in the Enquirer this evening.

Division leaders:

1. New England:11-3

2. Baltimore:10-3

3. Houston: 10-4

4. Denver: 8-6

Wild cards:

5. Pittsburgh:10-3

6. NY Jets:8-6

Outside looking in: Bengals 8-6, Tennessee 7-7, Oakland 7-7, San Diego 6-7.

Jets lead tiebreaker based on better winning percentage among common opponents (NYJ 3-2, Bengals 2-2)

I know there are other scenarios poossible, but I think that unless we win out (10-6), we have no chance, as I don't see the Jets dropping more than 1 of the remaining two games

Sure, the Jets could drop both and we could win (or tie) 1 game and we'd then limp into the playoffs at 9-7 (or 8-7-1), but I see that scenario as highly unlikely.

As it stands right now, if the Bengals were to make the Wild Card, they would travel to Houston. Can't ask for a better match-up than that. We'll see what happens but I'd be very pleased if they could just win one more to give them a winning record. Only their 3rd in the last 21 seasons.

Looking ahead in the playoffs and it seems pretty clear what will play out. The Patriots have all but locked up the number one seed and with a win tonight, Pittsburgh can all but lock up the #2. Pittsburgh at New England for the AFC Championship seems inevitable.

Jets playing the Giants and at Miami. I could see them very easily losing the last 2 games. The 6th seed is fodder this year anyway. Whoever it ends up being is far from a hot team. Unlike when Pittsburgh takes it after going on a streak at the end of the year.

We'll see.

In 2009 the Jets certainly looked like fodder. They had lost to the Falcons in week 15 and Rex Ryan cried because he thought their season was over. The Colts and Bengals then rested starters, the Jets squeaked into the playoffs... and found a way to make it to the AFC championship game.

No one looked at them as a hot team going into the playoffs. They had only won two games in a row and both were against teams that weren't trying. And yet, their confidence built.

Once the playoffs start, it's a whole new season. It's more than likely a 2 or 3 team race in the AFC... but in a single elimination tournament, crazy things happen.

Right, but I don't see a reeling Bengals team, the choking Chargers and Nate Kaeding being in a team's way like 2009. The 6th seed is likely going to New England if they win the WC round.

New England has lost 3 straight playoff games... and currently has the 32nd ranked defense in the NFL. They are on pace to give up the most yards in the history of the NFL, allowing 414 yards/game. They are not invincible.

Even still... you miss my point. There are surprises every year. Yes... New England will be favored to beat whoever they play, especially the Bengals. That doesn't mean they will. Teams that barely make it in find a way to do damage almost every year.

It's the beauty of the NFL playoffs.

Watching the Bengals simply being in the playoffs would be great. Seeing them win a game, would be incredible. Let's hope they get hot, right now.
