"Banty Rooster"

I had to google that - pretty obscure reference there, Hair

It's only obscure if you don't know your Bengal history.

When then 14-year old Paul Brown played QB for Washington High in 1924 he quickly earned the nickname "Banty Rooster" from his head coach and mentor, Dave Stewart.

"He was like a banty rooster, full of authority and self-confidence." --- Dave Stewart

I am not sure Paul Brown's high school ball is something most of us would consider "Bengal History"

I am also not certain of whether to be impressed with your knowledge of something so obscure, or frightened by it

Between the two, I think I will choose - to go to lunch early.

Hobson called him the Red Baron. Man will they just make some official! I'm getting so confused I don't know what red headed quarterback of the Bengals they are talking about!

Red Baron isn't going to cut it...too many fond childhood memories of Snoopy sitting on his doghouse with his sopwith camel and goggles.

BTW...any of you guys know how I can train my puppy to do that???

I wouldn't worry about it. Dalton has achieved nothing as yet ..... he isn't even on the "famous sporting redheads" list so until he reaches that lofty height of fame I don't think he deserves one !

Where do you think I got the idea to change Andy Dalton's nickname from the "Banty Rooster" or "The Farkel Flinger" to the even more obscure.....Andy "Tori Amos" Dalton?

I stand corrected.

Everyone wants his nickname to go along with his red hair. How about calling him Andy "Capp" Dalton. That would go good for him being the Captain of the offense, plus that was the name of the quarterback in 'Any Given Sunday.'
