ArmyBengal
This shouldn't surprise anyone. If you asked this question last year, you know, after comebacks and an AFCN title, would your response have been different. Everyone knows he signed that large contract. He is a QB and all... COB
Hey Mike, the 8th highest paid player would rather retire than play for you. How's that unwavering devotion to Bob Bratkowski working out?

Good picture selectionsAwesome pictures doesn't equal awesome results. As I've titled in a thread long before his announcement, the days of Carson Palmer are OVER! jonahdsage
Not to totally hijack the thread. . . but there were WAY too many rookies on that list. If were in the NFL I'd be wanting a new CBA with a rookie payscale/cap in place, too. That's just nuts.

ArmyBengal
That was on the front page of the paper here this morning and that number is said to be 4 times what the county thought it was going to be.I'm honestly of the mindset the Bengals would be better off in Los Angeles. The county screwed themselves with that stadium deal and should have had something more along the lines of what they do with the Reds deal. BengalszoneBilly
Speaking of getting paid, Mikey wants $43 million from Hamilton CountyOh this is just wrong...The Bengals want Hamilton County to pour $43.6 million into Paul Brown Stadium repairs and improvements over the next decade, four times the amount the county expected to spend. The plan, obtained by the Enquirer under a public records request, doesn't specify the improvements, listing them only in broad categories like "groundskeeping," "audio/visual," or "concession."But it does include the county buying an $8 million, state-of-the-art scoreboard sometime in the next two years, the Bengals said.Just what the fans in Cincy need, a bigger screen to watch epic fail on. ArmyBengal
After reading the article in the paper, most experts would agree that the upgrades and prices are about what should be expected for a stadium like that over the next decade. The difference is the county agreed to take on all capital repairs for PBS, whereas they don't have that responsibility with Great American Ballpark. I don't get how the county and taxpayers agreed to the deal they did. The taxpayers see their property taxes increase and increase and yet it won't be enough to cover the costs. It's a f*cking joke.I'm dead serious when I say I hope the county can't take this on and it forces them to fail on the contract which would give Mike Brown the right to move the team. LA is calling Mike Brown and here's your chance. Off you go !!! Oh yeah, one more thing on your way out...F*CK YOU IN YOUR ASS WITH A CACTUS !!! jonahdsage
I'm not a mike brown apologist by any means, but if "experts" are saying these maintenance costs are reasonable and Hamilton county AGREED to be responsible for the repairs . . . how is mike brown an ass in this situation? I guess it turns out NFL stadiums are expensive to maintain and Hamilton county can't afford the deal they agreed to . . . ?

Just thought I would spark a discussion about if Palmer is worth being paid so much dough. http://sportsillustr.../content.1.htmlI'm fine with Palmer's contract for 1 reason. Even if they get rid of Palmer (I hope not) it's not like Cheapass Mike Brown will spend that money elsewhere, so Carson's deal doesn't really impact the Bengals Salary Cap. If Carson's money comes off the books, Mikey boy will just consider that "Profit" and not re-invest in the team. So I say to Carson, KEEP TAKING THAT DOUCHEBAGS MONEY !!!!! I guess it turns out NFL stadiums are expensive to maintain and Hamilton county can't afford the deal they agreed to . . . ?The lease says that the county has to pay it. If you signed a sweetheart lease for your apartment, wouldn't you hold the landlord to it? I blame MB for the Bengals' failures, but I blame idiot politicians for that lease and I said so at the time. They sold us out
