jjakq27
One loon out, one to goChad was limping around pretty good in the fourth quarter too. I wonder when they're gonna shut him down.http://www.bengals.c...23-b7ba51b95fb2» Bengals wide receiver Terrell Owens says he's out for the year with a torn meniscus in his left knee, leaving him with 72 catches for 983 yards after he re-aggravated it early in Sunday's 19-17 win over Cleveland. That means he hit two of his six incentives, giving him $666,666 on top of his $2 million salary. Owens, 37, said he'll be able to play next season, but he doesn't know where: "This (injury) is minor." It left Owens 17 yards away from joining Jerry Rice and Randy Moss as the only players with 10 10,000-yard seasons. Owens, who left practice Thursday on a cart and didn't work Wednesday or Friday, is staring at his first appearance on injured reserve in his 15 seasons in the league. Sunday's game at PBS against the Chargers is going to be the first game he's missed because of injury since he broke his leg in 2004 and made it back in time to play in the Super Bowl. He said he originally got hurt two weeks ago against New Orleans and it didn't take long to buckle Sunday. He and Chad Ochocinco didn't start, but they came in on the second play and Owens was gone on the sixth play just 6:39 into the game. "There's no swelling. It's one of those freak things. I just planted," Owens said. It happened two weeks ago when we played the Saints when I got undercut, but I didn't really realize it. I still played. I played that entire game and I played the entire game last week. I've been playing on it." Owens says he'll get a second opinion and he has no opinion where he'll be playing next year. "That's the least of my worries right now," he said.
BengalszoneBilly
FYI Chad was the 2nd highest WR for the Bengals today. He did his job, and that's all I ask. Carson did the same on the QB side. Benson was a beast running the ball. The Bengals beat a decent team today, and I'm good with that. volcom69
Its time to see what these young guys got, and i was happy with what i saw. I am enjoying watching the young guys on the defense line, and now its time to see what the young WR have. Good job to Caldwell today, and Simpson with some great catches, and and awsome job blocking today

Sea Ray
This is just as well seeing as winning is not a priority but figuring out what we have at the WR position behind TO and Chad is. Kudos to TO for the season he had. I have no complaints about his signing. If anything he showed us how "ordinary" Chad is. TO outplayed him big time

I never thought he'd do as well as he did here.I have to wonder what he might have done if he'd been signed in March instead of (basically) August.I never got the anti-TO angst. As far as I can tell he was never a distraction, and his recent comments about the whole organization being f**ked up are about as original as the wheel. In short, more TO, less Chad. There were times when he didnt even try for the ball, or when he shorted his route for no reason. If he only gave it his all on every play i would have had more respect for him. There were games when he was amazing, just wish it was every game. So im not really sure i want him back at all, if i had to pick one then i will take TO before Chad. However at this point draft a WR to go with Shipley, Caldwell, Simpson, or whoever they pick up.
Kazkal
And finally, Antwan Odom, who came back from injury way underweight due to illness (or lack of roids) and was completely ineffective, after spending the early part of the 2009 season looking like the Big Scary Pass Rusher this team has needed forever. Thank gawd for Dunlap, who gives me some hope that our next BSPR is on the roster. Unfortunately, given Bengals' history, it's at least as likely he'll regress as improve in 2011. How was Odom a big Scary Passrush last year? I liked the guy but he was far from a "Big Scary Passrush" he was more of a Justin don't give up on plays smith...Most of Odoms Sacks came from great coverage by our CB's and 5 Sacks from a terrible Greenbay Line...Not trying to knock the guy but he was not a dominate passrusher last year hence why we still needed more when he was healthy... Because more than anything else his play served to confirm everything Owens AND his critics had said. In short, he proved he can still ball despite his advanced age, but ultimately produces as many busted plays and missed opportunities as big plays. I don't want him back under any circumstance. Time to move on, if this team is going to lose, then lose with guys who actully try every game and every play. Just look at the way the two young WR "run blocked" yesterday, they were just happy for the oppertunity they got and gave it there all, ill take that before the divas. HairOnFire
From Rotoworld w/ Rotoworld comments:Prior to his Week 15 season-ending injury, the Bengals reportedly seriously considered deactivating Terrell Owens for their final three games due to "his attitude and performance in practice and games." Considered it, but didn't. In fact, it took a season ending injury to Owens to convince this coaching staff to look for other ways to win a football game. Which they promptly did despite getting almost no production from Owens, Chad, Gresham or Shipley. Go figure, huh? In short, I'd say the Browns game we just witnessed was a microcosm of the way this team reluctantly embraced last years run first strategy only when forced to do so.SI's Peter King confirmed that Owens "definitely" won't be a Bengal in 2011.... I'm telling ya boys, it's nothing but blue skies and full bellies from here on out. In fact, just dump the other diva and we're golden. Owens is believed to have torn his meniscus two weeks ago, but had been playing through it. He had two drops in Week 14, and four of his last 23 target attempts had resulted in interceptions entering Sunday's win over Cleveland. The numbers may have gotten worse after the injury but nothing really changed from earlier in the year. In fact, the only ball I remember seeing Palmer force into coverage yesterday was the rejected endzone toss to a blanketed Chad that sailed over the head of a completely uncovered Jordan Shipley. volcom69
Yep it was amazing to what Palmer could do when not having to force the ball into triple coverage, or having to think he has to get the ball to one of the divas. It was awsome to see the o-line actully take over the game by knocing guys over, by pulling guards, and actully giving Palmer time to throw. Yea Carson might not have had his best day, but once again he didnt force passes, and he took what the defense gave him. However only thing with Palmer is i dont think he is seeing the field that great. He had wide open recievers, but decided to throw the ball to another guy! So im not sure if he is not seeing the field like he once did? With out the divas it showed this team can win, when putting the run first the o-line showed they could block, so maybe they should have just stayed with that instead of trying to get pass happy all the time. BengalszoneBilly
im not sure if he is not seeing the field like he once did?Look at his numbers. Especially the INT's! Stevie Wonder is seeing the field better than Carson Palmer.

Now he's practically begging to stay.Chad has probably figured out that he isn't going to make $6 million in 2011 unless the Bengals pick up his option. And it sounds increasingly like the Bengals are going to pay him his $3.5 million to go away. He got into a twitter hissy earlier today after Marvin knocked him for being "his usual mopey self" and accused the team of badmouthing him for getting hurt.
