agreen_112
As a matter of fact, for the first time in my life, I actually did a double take at Steelers merchandise in the sporting goods store. There was a nice Yellow and Black display full of Steelers shirts, hats, shoes, etc.... I may switch teams after this year. WTFI demand you do it immediately Jiz - and good riddance.I concur. I think the intelligence Giz has shown over the years would fit in quite well with the Steeler faithful.Football smarts, I'm the smartest guy here... Book smarts, I'll leave that to you geekers. It's true, I may be becoming the Carl Pickens, Takeo Spikes, and the Corey Dillon type of fan... Sick and f**king tired of this organization and it's complete lack of success. We're one of the Top 3 WORST teams in the HISTORY of the NFL. It gets old.Get on out of here Steeler fan.BTW... your football smarts are what loved the Chad/T.O. combo, right? And I hated it. Who looks smarter?Don't be a bafoon. To/85 are one of the top 5 duo's in the NFL you DODO! That's with a STRUGGLING Palmer. You just proved my point, sometimes you guys on here are just idiotic when it come to the actual sport. If Palmer was in '05 form, T.O./85 would be THE top WR tandem in the NFL, hands down.Either you haven't been watching the games, or you are an idiot. Chad is garbage. T.O. has been ok... but doesn't require double team coverage anymore.Statistically, they look pretty nice. But watching the games... they are killing the Bengals. They managed to catch less than 50% of the passes thrown to them yesterday, and the majority of those were not on the QB.Babyshanks aka the DODO everyone... "Chad is garbage. T.O. has been ok." You're absolutely right buddy. LMAO. NO, the truth is that Palmer is garbage. You will hardly EVER find me bashing our players but Palmer deserves to be bashed. He's finished man and WE are in BIG f**king trouble if things don't get turned around quick. T.O. will be gone. Chad will be gone. Hall may be gone. He will get a HUGE contract somewhere. Just watch the tape.Chad and T.O. being gone next season is something I am looking forward to. Simpson getting his chances, Shipley continuing to mature, Gresham being a bigger part of the offense The only things Chad and T.O. do in "elite" fashion is talk. And it's sad. agreen_112
It's like I have always said, numbers aren't everything. But in this case, for TO/85 to be in the Top 5 (with a struggling Palmer), that only proves what I've been preaching all these years.... whatever I'm done with this thread. I made the bet, I'll stick to it. I'm not going to be happy about a loss to our arch rival in MNF but I do not see this Bengals team winning against the BIG playoff teams. It is not a measure of excellence or being elite. There have been brief flashes of the potential they have but nothing to show they truly are an elite combo. Nothing. When you don't win games, it is a moot point as well. The Bengals are not winning games.

Shipley catches 84% of the passes thrown to him. Chad catches 59%, T.O catches 55%.It's not all on Palmer. If it was, Shipley would also be catching under 60% of his passes. And before you say that it's because Shipley only does "underneath easy stuff" he has more yards/catch than anyone on the team (14.5 yards/catch).Just sayin'. I can't wait for the most overrated duo in NFL history to be gone.Maybe you'll get lucky and they'll go play for your new favorite Steelers. In my opinion they are two of the best WR's in the NFL playing with a struggling QB and still putting up numbers. Imagine if Palmer were playing better, the sky would be the f'ing limit!!! I will ALWAY remain optimistic about this team, it's just how I am. But, this is probably the most frusterated I have EVER been with this franchise. The fact that T.O. and Chad are on separate pages than Palmer should speak for itself. Gresham dropped a BIG ball yesterday too. They don't know where the f**king ball is going to be placed!!! Learn the game bro. Palmer is f**king up bad, there is absolutely NO consistancy. Our receivers are confused and way out of their comfort zone. I just won't say it's all on him in hopes that Chad will let me keep sucking his dick.People who know the game know that Chad is a shell of his former self. He's terribly average. And T.O. and Chad showing an inability to know what Palmer is doing when Shipley has no problem with it appears to be an attack on their football intelligence. ArmyBengal
Don't be a bafoon. TO/85 are one of the top 5 duo's in the NFL By what standard ?? Combined yards ?? Combined receptions ?? Combined TD's ??I would guess those are the stats anyone would use to quantify such a statement. If that is what you are thinking, this is in fact the case:They aren't in the top 5 of any of those major statistical categories as a WR duo and when it comes to combined TD's, they aren't in the top 10.So outside of that, it's a personal opinion. Hardly something that should be followed by calling people, "idiotic".Again, while Chad and TO are by far NOT the only reason this team is in the position they currently find themselves in, they MOST DEFINITELY are a part of the problem. Carson shares in that problem, but I'm not willing to cut him any slack. If one were so inclined, you could very easily point to the less than halfassed play of the o-line and their horrid pass protection as a possible reason why Carson hasn't been able to make better passes due to having to play on the fly.I won't give any of them a pass though, it's a shared thing for Carson, the WR's not named Shipley, and the O-line.Throw the coaches in there as well... BengalPimp
Football smarts, I'm the smartest guy here... Whoa there buddy. That's a pretty bold statement. I mean, there are a lot of people on this message board who are "Football Smart" . I don't really know what qualifies you as the "Smartest"? I personally would NEVER make a statement like that, even though my 4 years of D1 ball at Oregon under coaches Rich Brooks and Mike Bellotti (both smart Coaches who taught me a lot) gives me a tiny tiny speckle of knowledge about the game.....but still...too many knowledgable guys on this board for anybody to make that kind of claim....That's actually why I enjoy frequenting this site.
