TJJackson
For those saying that he racked up numbers in garbage time how is it garbage time when the Patriots first defense was still on the field?Did the players lighten up or something? That's complete bulls**t.Yes, they did, and no, it's notIf you Chad lovers had the brains of a common chimp you'd understand the concept of killing the clock -- and more specifically, situations where it is more important to kill the clock than to prevent the defense from scoringbut you don't, so all that is lost on youI made this screen name in like 2005 ...and so you've had 5 years to change it to something less ignorant, but have chosen not to do so. Got it.First off im not a big fan of Chad! With that said we say all this about Garbage Time, i really dont see it as garbage time. The Pats were still playing, and playing tough. What you think a defense wants to give up 24 points and over 400 yards, i dont know if i was the D cordinator of the Pats i would be pi**ed. Heck they let the Bengals back in the game, if the Bengals defense actully showed up to play you never know what would happen. So maybe the Pats werent doing somethings they did earlier, but as far as the 3rd quarter being Garbage Time i dont know about that.

bwillycuse
I think we all have to admit that Chad had a hell of a game and caught 12 of 13 balls thrown to him. Several were very tough grabs. Garbage time or not. It was an excellent showing. I hope he keeps it up.

Please don't take it to a question of intelligence level that's laughable I attend an Ivy League School.Yes, I am quite aware of killing the clock. So you don't have to explain that to my chimp sized brain. It also wasn't like the Pats played Prevent Defense the entire second half either. So to completely discredit Chad's performance is another part of your agenda. I wonder if the defensive coordinators around the league are also discrediting his performance. Doubtful. I've been on this board for years and I have no issue engaging in a discussion. Your insults when someone doesn't agree with you are pretty weak. ArmyBengal
My irritation with Chad is well noted, but yes, he had a very good game against the Pats that gives me hope that he will continue to bring it each Sunday. That's all i've asked for from Chad, show up each week and be that player we all know he has the ability to be. After one week, I have no reason to complain. You are not judged (and I use that word in a generic rather than formal sense, as we all all judged at some level for every action or inaction) here by the framed certificate(s) on your wall, but rather for the content of your posts. That's complete bulls**t.then yeah, you're an idiot (kindergarten education or Rhodes scholar, all the same) who doesn't understand football even at a fan level, and you deserve to be called out for it. Your post is a clear illustration of the old adage "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt."and then you take it to another level by claiming you understood this all along?Yes, I am quite aware of killing the clock.Frankly, were that true, you never would have made your original statement, quoted above.and regardingYour insults when someone doesn't agree with you are pretty weak.Agreeing or disagreeing with you isn't even at issue here. Plain fact, you equated the first team defense being on the field with them not letting up, and that was simply wrong, just as wrong as if you claimed the Pope were not catholic or that Pumpkin is a hottie. And that's all I want or require...because football is the only reason I'm interested in Chad.

Way to leave out the quote where I questioned if the Pats were playing Prevent Defense the entire 2nd half. Yes, I'm an idiot that doesn't understand football. You can pick and choose which quotes you want to use to try and make me "look like an idiot", but it's rather simple. I'll repeat my statement again since you wanted to overlook it the first time. It also wasn't like the Pats played Prevent Defense the entire second half either. So to completely discredit Chad's performance is another part of your agenda. I wonder if the defensive coordinators around the league are also discrediting his performance. DoubtfulYou can carry on with your agenda towards Chad it really doesn't matter to me. I'm aware that the Pats probably did start using soft zone coverages towards the end of the game, but as a football player it's still on Chad to go out there and make plays. That's what he did. It's rather silly and clearly shows your agenda that you are trying to discredit his whole performance based on this. That's all the time that I'm going to waste even having this pissing match with you.And regardless, the term "Garbage Time" is generally used to refer to backup players being on the field. That's why I questioned how you could label the 3rd Quarter "Garbage Time."I'm sure you'll find a way to spin this post also, but I'm not even interested in replying. ArmyBengal
Most people that have disliked Chad recently (MYSELF ESPECIALLY) have said all they want is Chad to produce on the field.Well, in week one he did. Call it what you want, garbage time (whatever), schemes (whatever), or whatever you choose.Thing is, he did in fact produce on the field, unless we now want to put further stipulations on said performance. When and if Chad should decide to blow up on the field or sideline due to having his feelings hurt, I worry about it then.Until then, this "hater", as i've been called, will be happy with what I saw Sunday. Whur CHad At?
I think Chad has more than produced on the field. Look at his career. I don't think you can put up those type of numbers without working hard. Like I said before, we wouldn't be where we are w/o Chad. He doesn't win/loose games. He is not going to get us to playoffs. Theres a reason why Darelle Revis called Chad a "competitor" and not a "slouch" like he did of Randy Moss and Andre Johnson. Yeah he runs his mouth a lot. Like some of you said, as long as he continues producing on the field I can give two s**ts of what comes out of his mouth. If your going to criticize anyone from the work and production stand point, criticize the QB, the undisputed leader of the team. Spor_tees
Isn't this a contract year for Chad? Just saying...there is a team option for next year, but essentially he is playing now, for hopes of getting that one last big pay day. On a side note, did anyone notice how Chad has maybe rubbed off on TO a bit? On a couple of balls I saw Owens catch over the middle, he quickly went to the ground afterwards. I am so used to seeing TO catch those balls and try to fight for extra yards, yet instead he just crumpled to the ground like he was trying to avoid getting hit. Lastly, I have to agree with some here, that there are a few members on this board who can't carry on a discussion without trying to belittle others to prove their point. I used to put Hair in that category but at least he has some substance in his posts to back up his opinion as well. Plus I do believe he has toned down some of his arrogance bit. Let the flaming begin!

Well, that begs the question... has Chad's antics rubbed off on the entire team? And theres the rub, Chad did what was prudent for HIM and only HIM without the consideration............................................................................Sorry Hair - I just wanted to be you for a second. Dont have even close the writing skills. But seriously - Chad negatively influencing TO? Nah Chad playing harder because its a contract year? He has a team option next year I think.I just think both of these players want to win now. Egos are still there but neither of them worry me this year one bit.Right now its Oline. Andre Smith makes more than almost anyone on this team. His lack of effort getting into shape and contributing is much more troubling.Right now - The defense is WAYYYY overrated. No 4 defense? Try bottom 4.They should come out pissed on Sunday.
