DC_Bengals_Fan
Why I am completely unconcerned about the Bengals' running back situation.I don't know Hoosier, his 40 has to be 8 or 9 seconds by now.In all seriousness, I'm not worried about the running - but I would like to have a RB who can 1) pick up blitzes, and 2) catch the ball, preferably doing something useful after doing so. We've had good offenses without that guy, but it sure does come in handy.Ideally, B. Scott can be that guy, but I don't know that he is. BengalPimp
Pass on the Westbrook idea. There will be no shortage of guys coming available in the next 3-5 weeks. 90% will be better than Westbrook. So, in 3-5 weeks (the season starts in less than that BTW) 90% of the RB's available will be better than Westbrook? F*ck I'd love to see an un-signed class like that!!!!! Really? Probably not a good idea to make too many statements like that. I get that you think he's done, but you're saying Westbrook will be in the bottom 10% of the pieces of sh*t that are still unsigned when the season starts? That's just ridiculous bro. BengalPimp
I've mentioned it before, so why not again? Bring in Brian Westbrook!!! Several weeks ago I heard Michael Lombardi discuss which teams might be interested in signing Westbrook. Long story short Lombardi claimed his sources had told him Westbrook had almost nothing left in his tank even when healthy, and due to wear and tear probably couldn't complete a full training camp without physically breaking down. He guessed Westbrook wouldn't be signed by anyone until after the season started, probably by a team that had just lost a starter or important role player for no more than 4 to 6 weeks. Should the injured player be expected to miss more time than that Lombardi guessed those teams would look elsewhere for a replacement who could fill in for a longer period than Westbrook would be capable of.Vince Lombardi said that? Oh wait, Michael Lombardi......Well, if he said that, then just forget it. I mean, how can you argue with a sportscaster? Stupid me, I figured bring him in for a tryout and see what he might be able to offer, but if the never wrong Michael Lombardi says he's done well, then it must be true! Didn't he also say T.O. was done too?

That's just ridiculous bro.Yes.Just the same as it was for Shaun Alexander, Marshall Faulk, Rudi Johnson, Priest Holmes, Stephen Davis, Jamaal Lewis, Jamaal Anderson, Jerome Bettis, Fred Taylor....All of them hit the obvious and impenetrable wall of age and wear. They are no longer viable as RB's in the NFL, for one reason or another. Injuries, bad luck, over use, mis-use.... Some may still be in the league but as the saying goes "Not For Long".Westbrook won't play in 4 games this year. He is done. I really liked the guy but it is just reality. He wore out. It happens. It always happens.

ArmyBengal
Holy sh*t, let the meltdown continue. WHAT DO WE DO WITHOUT LEONARD ??? Oh noooooooo. The Bengals likely would have lost to Pittsburgh last year without him. Other than that one amazing 4th down play, I can't point to anything he did that can't be duplicated. Sure, any injuries suck... but if one of the RBs had to get hurt, Leonard would have been my first choice. I don't want to see this team without Benson or Scott. Either one of those losses would be far more difficult to replace.Agree with you here and can only say that I am more than willing to give high praise to Leonard for LAST YEARS performance. I love what he brought to the table and absolutely LOVED that Pittsburgh game. This year ?? Just not the same situation that last year was and his loss will have less of an impact this season than it would have last season. All of that being said, I like that they brought James Johnson back in... One place they don't seem to have added was the all-purpose short-yardage back who can run, block, and catch. I like having a guy like that. Absent signing the corpse of Michael Westbrook, who takes on that role? Or do they just use the TEs in those situations?

HairOnFire
From Joe Reedy....But first a quick Brian Leonard update from Lewis, who said it will take a couple weeks to determine where is at but right now it doesn’t look to be season ending.Said Lewis about Leonard: “Brian has an injured foot and it will be a couple weeks before he’s back to healthy. When it heals he’ll back here ready to go. I can’t look into the future and go beyond that. Right now his foot is injured. There’s nothing that says he would be out for the year or on IR so we’ll go from there.”/>http://cincinnati.co...-about-leonard/
