BengalPimp
If Gresham wasn't listed as the #1, I actually would have been surprised. Kelly coming back from injury, Coffman coming back from injury and unproven, Coats, er, well, he f*ckin' sucks. Tread lightly. It isn't out of the realm of possibility Daniel Coats! wins the starting FB role.Bite your tongue!

jonahdsage
seems like quite the deal. League source on Gresham's deal -- $15.8 million/$9.6 million guaranteed/$18.5 million max.
membengal
Not even close to a notable holdout by Bengals standards. Well done. And if he doesn't play this Sunday, he still has the next four preseason games to get in. Great news.

HairOnFire
So they paid more then their slot? surprising ! Starting to wonder if Mr Brown is still alive. Still alive and still throwing around incentives like so much candy. The guaranteed money fits the slotting perfectly. Total contract size, if accurate, seems very generous. The deal is worth up to $16.3 million. It also includes an option. Jackson has been signed and will be with the team starting with the afternoon practice./>http://torotimes.com/2010/07/30/texans-agree-to-terms-with-jackson-sign-tate/
Kazkal
Reedy said it was a 10% increase from last years 21st.... Gresham agrees to termsPosted by jreedy August 2nd, 2010, 5:57 pmThe Bengals will welcome another new offensive weapon to training camp on Tuesday – Jermaine Gresham. Chad Ochocinco was the first to announce the signing on his Twitter account. The team has agreed to terms with their first-round pick, agreeing on a five-year contract with the tight end worth $15.85 million ($18.5 million max) with $9.6 million guaranteed. The deal is a 10.25 percent increase in guaranteed and around nine percent on base money, which is around where first-round picks have received. The base increase is also higher than what last year’s 21st pick, Peria Jerry, received with Atlanta.

ArmyBengal
So this is how it fell:#20 got a 5 year deal worth 13.10 million and 10.35 million guaranteedGresham at #21 got a 5 year deal worth 15.85 million and 9.6 million guaranteed#22 got a 5 year deal worth 12.15 million and 9.35 million guaranteedHis deal is worth better than 2 million more than the pick ahead of him while receiving only 700,000 less in guaranteed money. What exactly was the hold up with this contract ??I guess in the grand scheme of things it doesn't matter much as long as he's in camp, but still... Kazkal
Anyone know where to find last years? kinda wondering how 20-22 fell since he's supposed be 10% increase of falcons selection (I know it doesn't matter but its something to do /talk about lol)

So that's about $3.3 million/year over 4 years.Over five years, Gresham averages a bit less than $3.2 million/year.Then Thomas gets about $2.5 million/year at 22.Gresham does appear to have a higher max (more than $18 million) versus Jackson at 20 (about $16 million) but my bet is that the option year will cost the Texans $3-4 million.(edited because I can't add)
