DC_Bengals_Fan
Where should I start on this pile of garbage? Carolina #8? Seattle #11? Miami #6? Minnesota #13?All are worthy of consideration. In fairness, not knowing whether His Favreness will play makes Minny a tough call. But yeah, those other three are fuggtarded. For my money the Carolina pick is the worst. Division with the SB champs and a game ATL team. TB sucks to be sure, but probably not as bad as last year. Oh, and who's Carolina's QB? Does Jimmy Claussen get the nod, or the guy nobody's ever heard of?Peter King, King of Trolls, you have outdone yourself sir. Bravo. My only question - does he even believe this tripe? Or is he just stirring the pot?

Or is he just stirring the pot?I hope he's not that dumb and is just stirring the pot. But seriously, Favre or not, is that enough for Green Bay to be ranked #1 overall? And yeah, Carolina with Matt Moore and Jimmy Claussen being ranked over Atlanta and playing in the same division as the superbowl champs? Then there's the annual obsession with his San Diego(#2)and Baltimore(#3)picks. We already know he's got something against the Bengals who he has at #23...so no comment really needed there.

BengalPimp
Let's see.....Bengals = Division Winner and the #4 Overall Defense, Didn't lose 1 significant player, only made additions...hmm, let's rank them #
NJ29
I feel like the most perplexing ranking might be the placement of Pittsburgh at #11, despite all of the Roethlisberger f**kery and the loss of their most explosive receiver. Meh, I wouldn't expect anything less retarded than this from King, so hey, I'm okay with it.
HoTbOy
The Bengals at 23, I just don't see how he got that, IMO they did improved to at least the top 12...Green Bay at 1 once again I don't see how he got that, How can you not at least have the defending champs at 1... walzav29
The only logic they use is that the Bengals haven;t had back to back winning seasons in 20 years. Thats it. They swept the Ravens lats year, but the additions on Boldin and Stallworth put them over the top? Forget the Bengals additions. All meaning less. Because Matt Jones year out of football was worse than Stallworths. Palmer 7-3 vs Baltimore. It's been apparent he had some type of run in wit hthe Brwons back in the day and the grudge continues. jjakq27
At the very least they should be in the top 15. If you say that the Bengals are the 2nd best team in the division then that makes them 16 at worst. I don't see a division that has three teams better than the Bengals. And I must have missed something but what makes Green Bay No. 1?
walzav29
I have the theory that they try to praise the most popular teams in the NFL to get more readers. I know if there was ever a website that said something good about Cincy I would read it. That will never happen though.
coupdayta
He craps all over Cincinnati every year. COB
If King is right to put us at 23rd, we'd win 6 or 7 games. I think we'll win more than that, so as usual, King is wrong. He's a guy who just swings from the ball sack of every front runner he can find. I'm half surprised he didn't put the Patriots first. But picking the Packers? They were a fashionable top pick last year and they fell on their faces, so I can't figure out exactly why he put them so high this year. For him to get off the Steelers, that organization will have to be smoldering hulk, much like the city itself. He's enthralled with the Rooneys and he doesn't care if they employ rapists. Sea Ray
Sports Illustrated is the People Magazine of sports and as such its writers know very little about the actual game between the lines. This article just cements that view. I seem to recall King publishing some pretty crazy rankings before. If anyone has his past rankings I think we'd all get a kick out of it
jjakq27
This is a little under the radar compared to Favre but has Ed Reed announced his intentions on whether he is retiring? I expect that he will play but that "iffiness" should push the Ravens down on the list in spite of all the acclaim they got for their offseason. And Carolina at #8? They lost arguably the best defensive player in the NFL to the Bears and have three QBs (Moore, Claussen and Pike) with a handful of starts yet they are in the top 10.I try to like this guy and appreciate his point of view but at times he is useless. I can't believe he is the so-called expert on NBC. We have more objective opinions on this board that would do a much better job than PK. I am obviously not qualified to be making such opinions. Now if you’ll excuse me, Dora the Explorer is about to start and I need to get my pudding.”
Trevor
Damn,.. 23 huh?.. Good ol' chris friggin perry... I hate that number... But on a serious note, we should at least be top ten. Our passing efficiency if palmer is 100% will be top ten. As it should be, he may not get 4000 yds but he will complete over 65%. These weapons are the best we've had since 05. Dare i say better because of the run game is so much more dominant and we can control the clock if need be... Our defense will once agin be top 5... All we have to do is coach these awesome players... Better than last year, and we will be a top 5 or 10 team. Who cares what this guy says? HairOnFire
I stopped caring after I read where the Packers were ranked #1. In other words, after the first line. Which I guess explains why I haven't been to the SI website in years.

NYBengalfan
Its bad enough that the ravens are 3 but i feel even more offended that he has the balls to put the steelers at 12!! They will be without their Franchise degenerate QB for almost the first half of the season. They have got rid of their most athletic receiver in Santonio.. not to mention that even with them, like the Ravens we beat them twice last yr. we will be the team that goes further than both of them, yeah we got a tough schedule, but we are a REALLY good team this year!! kevnz
Did someone piss in his coffee when he covered the Bengals? Good Lord he loves to hate on them. It's shocking, that has got to be one of the most blatant efforts he's ever done against the team. Good on Hobson for calling him out on it. Some of it must be a Mike Brown thing or something.I enjoyed watching him at the end of last season when he had no choice but to say good things about the Bengals on NBC. Sometimes the pain was evident but I get the impression that he is not a happy person in general so I don't get to upset anymore over his comments.
