walzav29
David Jones, Brandon Ghee, Morgan Trent, Pacman? I will be shocked if the answer was Pacman, BUT if he could be the 4th best that will help with the schedule the Bengals have.
Kazkal
Well if Pacman can play like the talent he has I'd say him,but being I don't think he'll get back to his top 10 talent ill go with Ghee.
TJJackson
I liked what I saw of Morgan TrentKeep developing him
membengal
No effin' idea. What kind of shape is Jones in?At some point, that will help to answer this question.
rwalling
If he keeps out of trouble, Pacman is at least one class better than the rest of these guys as the 3rd corner. He's also the only one I would trust if Leon or JJoe is hurt to start at corner. I think he is a material upgrade as corner insurance, not to mention punt return. derekshank
I think Ghee is going to be very good eventually.Him, plus the interest in Pacman makes me think they're going to let either Joseph or Hall walk.
wpeldios
After watching the way Jones played in Dallas, Id Say Trent, with a possibility of Ghee. Depending on how he develops in his first year.
BengalPimp
I'd have to say Morgan Trent, but David Jones should be completely healthy now, and I really like his potential. If I were to rank all of them, it would be#1 Leon Hall#2 Johnathan Joseph#3 Morgan Trent#4 David Jones#5 Brandon Ghee#6 Adam "Pac Man" Jones
BengalPappaw
I believe Brandon Ghee will surprise you how good he will be at corner back. He has plenty of skill and the potential to get better. I have never been happy with Morgan Trent. He was not good at Michigan and for the Bengals he was the easy spot to throw at. I'd even prefer a "born again" Pac Man Jones over Morgan Trent. HairOnFire
I'd handicap it this way....#1 - Leon Hall - A shut-down CB#2 - Johnathan Joseph - A shut-up CB#3A - Morgan Trent - The 3rd CB role was his to lose, and yeah....I'm guessing he'll eventually do just that. #3B - Brandon Ghee - Trent's year of experience should give him an early advantage, but it won't last beyond week 6. #4 - Rico Murray - Almost an unknown, but I've liked him from day one, and he makes plays consistently whenever given a chance.#5 - David Jones - Even his momma dislikes him and wants him cut. #6 - Adam "Pac Man" Jones - Perhaps it's time to drop the nickname and grow up? James_Brooks21
David Jones is a special teams player at best, he does not make enough plays on the ball for him to even be thought of to be our third corner, stop playing. Imagine him having to guard Santonio Holmes (Jets third receiver) or any of the Colts receivers, Peyton Manning would feel like a kid in a candy store with that guy on the field, I'm trying to actually see them win some playoff games and not just show up. This will be a three man race for that position and D. Jones is not one of them. A. Jones will be in shape so people need to kill that argument there is no way in hell that he shows up at training camp out of shape knowing that this is his last chance. I could actually see A. Jones and Morgan Trent being swapped in that nickel position depending on who they are playing if you are playing those tall San Diego receivers Trent would be your man, if you are playing a shifty guy like S. Holmes, Pac man frame is built better for that then Trent's . I like Pac man experiece that he was a number one corner in the NFL at one time over Ghee's at this point and Pac Man is still only 26. If we sign him I would feel a lot better about our depth at that position.
kingwilly
I can only really recall Trent being woefully out of position on the late throw to hamilton in the Oakland game. He is a steady player, if not flashy, and we are lucky to have him as the 3rd/4th cb. If Pacman can get in shape, he is the nickel. Sorry, he is simply that good. He is very fast, and can handle anyone's 3rd wr. he is sure tackler as well. He will be the nickel back if he comes in and makes the effort.Ghee is in a luxury spot. he can play teams and learn from Jjoe and Hall. he can emerge over the next year or so and be there in case on of our two studs departs. Looking at it now, we are really set at CB for at least a couple more years.Hall, Jjoe, Pacman, could become the best 1,2,3 in the league, with Trent and Ghee ready in case of injury or such. BengalszoneBilly
Hall, Jjoe, Pacman, could become the best 1,2,3 in the league, with Trent and Ghee ready in case of injury or such. That's the way I see it going down. Experience counts.
derekshank
I don't have a problem with the Pacman signing, because like I said in the other thread, Mikey wants to buy low and hopefully strike gold. If it works out, great. If not, oh well. Low risk, high reward. That said, I'm a little surprised to see how many people think he's immediately the 3rd CB. He didn't play at all last year, and the last time he did play, he was never any better than 4th on the Cowboys depth chart.Trent performed rather well last year as a rookie, and Ghee has loads of talent. If Jones works out, I'll be as happy as anyone - but I have trouble seeing him start out any better than 5th on the depth chart.
membengal
I am not putting him at third corner by default, but if he's back in-shape, I like the marriage of his athleticism with Coyle and Zimmer as his coaches, and think he could leap to third corner if all goes well this summer. ShulaSteakhouse
Pac Man should gobble up the nickel spot if he's sober and committed. I'll assume the Bengals' saw enough of him working out to have at least some confidence.Let's just hope the strip clubs are up to par for him in the area (not likely, so it's obviously better he just stay away), and that Palmer is the only one making it rain around here.
