Ok, Kindle and Mays still on the board. As much as I love Mays, I think adding Kindle would be monsterous for our defense. With the safety position being so deep, we could still grab one with our comp pick in the 3rd.

Okay last year Rey fell to us...this year MAYS WILL FALL TO US happy.gif!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not when we pick. This draft format can be both good and bad. If I am the bengals, I'm calling all the teams at the top of the 2nd Rd....Good thing is you've got plenty of time before the 2nd Rd starts tomorrow...bad thing is, a whole bunch of others teams have time to make calls too. If we could land Mays, I'd be fine with swapping 2nds, and giving up a 3rd and 4th. or swapping 2nds, a 3rd, and maybe a 3rd next year...Seems like a lot, but I think he'll be worth it.

Well, if you use the outdated value chart, we should be able to move up to around 5 or 6 in the second round with swapping 2nd's and giving up our 3rd.

I think I would be more than happy to do that in order to get either Mays or Kindle.

Both are 1st round talents, present value, and we have the picks to give.

Mock from here on out:

I hear you. I'm looking for position flexibility though. Can he also play Tackle? Or is he so worth it that we forgo the versatility?

At the East/West Shrine game, he lined up at both Guard, and Both Tackle spots that week in practice, and looked good at all 4 spots. He was a 3 year starter at LT in college, but projects to Guard in the NFL.

Yup, throw me on the Newhouse bandwagon as well.

I watched a couple TCU games this past year, and Newhouse never stood out to me as a Tackle. And that is definitely a good thing. I would have to do more research before saying hes the guy I want, but from what I have seen/read, I don't see him as a bad choice.

Packaging the 2nd and 3rd round pick should be enough to get toward the Chiefs pick if they are interested. And I would love to see the Bengals get Kindle. He's the guy I fell in love with over the last week or so, and wanted the Bengals to take in the 1st.

If they pull that off, I'll never say another bad word about Mike Brown.

But I'd put money on them staying put and seeing who falls to them. Worked last year I guess.

My guys in the second:

Taylor Mays, S, USC

Nate Allen, FS, South Florida

Morgan Burnett, FS, Georgia Tech

Terrance Cody, DT, Alabama

Brandon Spikes, ILB, Florida

Donald Butler, ILB, Connecticut

Carlton Mitchell, WR, South Florida

Koa Misi, OLB, Utah

Brian Price, DT, UCLA

Sean Lee, ILB, Penn State

Eric Decker, WR, Minnesota

Chad Jones, SS, LSU

Mitch Petrus, OG, Arkansas

Sergio Kindle, OLB, Texas

Kindle and Mays will be long gone so I don't see them as possibilities unless the team trades up. Nate Allen would be my top choice amoung the Safeties. The guy I really want at 54 is Spikes. I have said for a long time a LBer corp of Rivers, Spikes, and Maualuga would be the terror of the league for the next 5-7 years. Kindle or Misi would necessitate switching Maualuga back to ILB and I am concerned that he may not be able to make the line calls.

In the 2nd round, I'm kind of indifferent about the pick. I would like to see an explosive player such as a Gilard or Tate... Also, Safety is a need. I also wouldn't upset with an O or D lineman.

I would love to draft Blount (RB) sometime in the draft maybe round 4...

Terrence Cody is a giant slob. Which makes me think about Siragusa and Adams. He would be good vs the run i'd think.

He also has a knack for blocking kicks. He either has very long arms or can get that big body up in the air some.
