Hey Hair, were you one of the people arguing with me when I said very early on that the bengals were no threat to do anything inthe playoffs because their offense ws unable to score more than 16 or 17 point in a game? Were you one of the ridiiculous people who said that it didn't matter because they were squeaking out games in the regular season?

I was pretty much the lone voice saying that very early in the season and got ripped for it. Now it seems everone has jumped on the Joe Pong bandwagon and now they agree with me. Why? Because I am always right. The difference is, I realized way ahead of everyone else and tried to warn you guys. Just like I knew this stupd Matt Jones TE thing was bogus.

A lone voice, huh? The first to say out loud what so many were thinking, but couldn't bring themselves to say? The only one with the strength of character needed to state the unpopular opinion AND hold up under the crushing weight of criticism that soon followed?

The difference is, I realized way ahead of everyone else and tried to warn you guys.

Right after? Hardly. Your first response to the rumor was posted in this thread more than 24 hours after the rumor was first published in the DDN. In fact, the rumor was a half day old before I posted it here midday on the 17th.

And this, my proclamation that the bengals were going to leave him at WR and not move him to TE.

All before Hobson's story on bengals.com about how th story had no validity.

Perhaps, but not before a half dozen or so articles written by others mocked the rumor...including several who pointed out how it was written without any Bengal related source. So again, you didn't offer a single opinion on this matter until well after the rumor had been put to bed.

Yet here you stand, once again claiming to be the only one who got this one right when in reality your dumb ass sat the whole thing out until the matter was settled. Which is your habit, isn't it?

Pretty easy to check the time.

Actually, it's pretty easy to check more than that. For example, I checked the "Tight End in the First Round" thread and confirmed you hadn't written a single post. Then I checked the "Matt Jones-Redeemer at Work" thread and found only one post from you. That post, a Kevin Roberts article about Jones, contained absolutely no comments from you. As for this thread, you wrote two posts...each one written well after the results were known.

So again, how can you claim to be right about something after the fact when you hadn't written a single word about it previously?

This thread was started about noon on the 18th. I logged onto this forum about an hour after the thread was started. That was the first I ever heard this stupid idea about making Matt Jones a TE.

That was the first time I saw it, and my posts were made immediately upon seeing it for the first time.

Hobson's article on bengals.com dismissing the DDN report was made six hours AFTER my posts. People on here were still discussing it as if it was a possibility.

Facts are facts.

I haven't read most of the posts in this topic, but I am going to predict the future on exactly how Matt Jones will effect the team this season.

We'll keep Coles and draft a WR. This will lead to a camp battle between Matt Jones and Jerome Simpson for the last WR roster spot. It will turn out almost identical to the Brian Leonard/Dede Dorsey battle. Jones will represent the role player in that he'll block and convert third downs, while Simpson will represent the flashy game-breaker. Simpson won't show enough and will be cut at the end of camp. There will be a lot of rotating between Coles, Caldwell, and Jones on first and second down, but the majority of Jones' snaps will come on third and moderates. BTW, I don't expect the receiver we draft to have much impact his rookie season.

Frankly, so what? It's freaking February, a time so slow and devoid of NFL news your boy Hobson sometimes goes more than a week between articles. In fact, it's fair to say Hobson was one of the very last local scribes to bother commenting on Big C's rumor. More importantly, there was no shortage of articles posted on other websites, prior to Hobson chiming in at the 11th hour.

Facts are facts.

And opinions are opinions. Sadly, you seemed to have missed an opportunity to offer your valuable opinion before the matter was settled, thereby negating your ability to say "I told ya' so".

But you're still willing to try, right? And nevermind the FACT you still haven't said anything about the matter other than how smart you were to say nothing at all.

Gee, I think that I pointed out that this guy would/could play TE the day that we signed him.

While I doubt that he is much of a blocker, it is possible that the Bengals are thinking of him as a TE or a guy that plays a little of both.

With him being out of football for a while its possible that he is more in the TE size range

he was a 6-6 QB 242lbs. out of Arkansas that ran in the 4.37 range some teams wanted him for the TE spot, some teams wanted him as a WR most teams were not sure what he would play.

This guy could end up filling the Chris Henry role for us or being our Vernon Davis or a little of both
