bpepper
It just comes down to being absolutely, 100% freakin stupid. Maybe I worry about the 18 bucks for a cab ride home, but if you know you're going out drinking, and you make at least 6 figures, how dumb do you have to be not to just take a cab. So simple. So easy. WTF?
Kazkal
People aren't smart when Drinking :| Though that's one thing my Bro N law did right was he wouldn't take the car to the bar in the first place...Though his stupid thing is beating the crap out of a parked car and getting Arrested for it.PS,As for the Mug shots i'm Pretty sure the post them on a website my sister was able find her Hubbys. bpepper
If you kill someone while negligently driving drunk, you can get nailed for manslaughter. Essentially negligent homicide. 5-20 years.

wpeldios
Ive been out of Cincy for like 15 years. Is there an issue with Kentucky police? Why are all these players getting arrested in Kentucky. Do they all live there? I dont remember kentucky police being over the top but its been awhile.I hate reading these stories. And no mater how many years pass without having an incident. The next incident will always be viewed as the Bengals being the typical criminal Bengals.Though minor. I dont like it.Alot of them do live in the Kentucky area. And others often spend alot of time there. Also, alot of the popular bars and such are just across the river, so that leads to it more. I gotta say, it can't be considered over the top or with the police. Its thier job to stop drunk drivers, and Maualuga was clearly way over the limit. Its a mistake and I believe his wallet should be hit pretty hard. Also, from what I have heard, the Bengals offer their players a free driving service. I have to say I'm very let down in Rey, but hopefully this straightens him out some and nothing like this ever happens again.Edit* and for those asking, it was apparently one of the girls cars. They were too drunk as well and thought of the 3 Maualuga was in the best driving condition so they let him drive.

Its not taken serious by people like you because the court system doesnt take it seriously. You can kill someone driving sober, too. Also, if they put every person arrested for DUI in jail do you know how many more prisons would have to be built? Do you know how overcrowded the prisons we have already are?Calm down. Nobody is saying DUI's aren't serious.
Pidge
I'm not making light of anything. In fact, although a pain in the ass for the Bengals PR-wise, this is probably the best outcome to a potentially horrible ending. By not making it home safe and sound, and instead landing himself in the plop (without causing injury/damage to anything other than property), the chances of him doing it again are diminished. jjakq27
Rey apologized on Twitter today......./>http://cincinnati.com/blogs/bengals/2010/02/01/maualuga-speaks-via-twitter/Bengals linebacker Rey Maualuga had a message for his fans and the city of Cincinnati, that he relayed via his Twitter account this morning. Maualuga, who was arrested early Friday in Covington on charges of drunken driving and careless driving after he allegedly struck two parked cars and a parking meter, had this to say this morning (note, since Twitter allows only 140 characters per post, some spellings and words are shortened like what would happen in a text message): * Sorry for bringing humiliation n embarrassment to this Organization n to dis great city of Cincinnati. * To Bengals nation n my fans, sorry for letting you guys down n for doing wat I did. I hope dat u guys continue to support me n all I do! * I kno its gonna be hard to believe me but I will do everything in my power to gain ur trust back! I will definitely learn from this! ArmyBengal
Is driving while intoxicated very dangerous and potentially life threatening ?? Sure it is and I doubt anyone will argue that it's a really good decision, however, I'm not going to go on and on about how wrong he was and jump up on some soapbox like I've never made a bad decision in my life. He was wrong, he will pay for it as he should, and he will hopefully grow from that decision he made in his life. That being said, minus actions like that continuing from Rey, I could care less as long as he continues to improve into the player we all want and need him to be. What he does in his personal life is of no real concern to me as long as it doesn't f*ck the Bengals.
