Stripes
7 catches for 82 yards. The first time this year the Bengals made a concerted effort to win a game on Carson's arm, Foschi led the team in catches and yards. I'm not even terribly surprised. It'd be great to see that sort of production happen with any consistency.
Pidge
He can certainly catch the ball. He's like the anti-Coates in that respect. Hardly drops a thing.
Kazkal
Before this game I liked the guy,After this game I like him more...he's one of great unexspected pickups and truthfully would like to see him stick around even if we Draft another Tight End or sign one in FABen Watson,Foschi & Coffman? kthx He can certainly catch the ball. He's like the anti-Coates in that respect. Hardly drops a thing. Solid Speed also
Stripes
As far as I'm concerned, Coffman is completely expendable if Foschi can produce like this.
ChadJohnson-85
Yeah good job by JP today. Just go ahead and cut Coats now.
Kazkal
Yeah good job by JP today. Just go ahead and cut Coats now.Ya I really wish they would :| JJ can play Tight End better then coats can and Fui can go in if they need a 2 TE + FB set...As far as I'm concerned, Coffman is completely expendable if Foschi can produce like this. No? Wouldn't the better idea would be to have both? Because Reggie very well could be done,Utecht is cut and Coats should be cut...so even if we draft or sign someone still need 3TE's.. cincy9275
i must say, another damn good pick up for the bengals. he is getting more comfortable with carson, and showing improvement all the time. then really is become a huge factor in our passing game. then the catch he made, when we were driving to tie the game was just huge. because if he does not go get that. cromatie is right there and he takes it to the house. 101Airborne
I've been impressed with his play for a while now. While we've most certainly had our TE woes this season and in seasons past, JP Foschi might just be the answer.
ChadJohnson-85
Yeah I think we finally found our pass catching TE. He can only get better right? So if JP continues to show good signs, do we keep Reggie Kelly next year? I only ask because we also have Coffman. But don't we usually keep 3 TEs anyway? I'm not sure. Pidge
Reggie - he was never a speed guy anyway and his Achilles shouldn't hinder his blocking ability all that much, if at all. So, would everyone be happy with a trio of Reggie, Chase and JP? I think I could live with that.

And it eliminates the chances of us drafting a TE in the first-third rounds (not trying to turn this into a draft discussion. I was just throwing that out there). COB
Solid Speed alsoI'm glad to read someone say he has speed. Maybe he's got a tweaked hamstring or something, but Sunday the few chances he had to run after the catch he looked really slow. Sometimes it can be deceiving though, depending on who is chasing him. volcom69
That was one amazing catch he had, he must have been wearing his sticky gloves. Great job J.P

He was in the top 5 of every pre-season poll before he had to get his knee cleaned out (some even had him #1). He's simply dominant as a pass-catcher and excellent as a blocker. The only thing that makes me hesitate is seeing how much of a difference giving Carson time makes, and going for an LT might give us that (see logic following). But it seems many of our "overload" sets are because we don't have 2 tight ends that can get the job done next to the tackle (ahem, Coats).I see drafting a left tackle as the most efficient solution to the line, because it would allow us to kick Whitworth inside and we kill 2 birds with one stone. Of course, we may one someone who's a bit more nimble to be pulling there, but... Either way, I do think we need to go guard once in Rds 3-5. (I have hopes for Shirley).
