agreen_112
The Ravens, Colts, Jets and I believe one other team are 3-0. At week 4 you can put them in any order from 1-4 on the rankings IMO... The Bengals were at the bottom of the list after week 1. If it weren't for a 1 in 1,000,000 fluke play, we would also be 3-0. I haven't watched the other 3-0 teams, and I couldn't tell you who they beat but...We beat a great team at Green Bay. We beat the returning SB champion Steelers team at home. We beat Denver. I'm not saying we should be a top 5 team (if not for the fluke play we would definitly be top 5), but we gotta be in the top 10 going into week 4. With a win at week 1, we could possibly be top 3?? I'm staying humble. We're winning games and we're playing 'til the final whistle blows. The coaches are doing a great job of keeping these guys focused. I'm not making any predictions but this team is for real.

I'm not making any predictions but this team is for real.Seeing last week's rankings and what happened yesterday, we should come in no lower than 16, and I would put us at 14. Even if we had won that first game, making us 3-0, it was ugly enough to count major against us. We are definitely not currently top three or top five, although I think we CAN hang with any team in the league on any given day. That won't be popular given 'Bengal-mania' running rampant in the face of yesterday's major victory, but it's honest and I think we are getting better each week. We keep the focus and attitude we have right now, and we are a possible 9-7 or 10-6 team with a playoff chance. But that's a long way off. Need to keep the discipline. skyline
I'd say somewhere in the 10-12 range would be appropriate. Take care of business against Cleveland, then beat Baltimore and everything changes.
jjakq27
Without looking at the list I'd say somewhere between 14-16. Beat Cleveland and they should move up slightly. Beat Baltimore and I think top 10 would be legitimate.
ArmyBengal
I hope they keep trying to say this team isn't that good and rank us low. Who cares anyway ??I would rather them keep giving this team more reason to be fired up week in and week out by saying they aren't any good... agreen_112
I agree with you Army.. I could care less about the rankings. But if we beat Baltimore we're definitely top 3. Baltimore is probably the #1 team right now.

buck3y3d
There are 7 3-0 teams, not just 4: Baltimore, Indy, New York Giants, New York Jets, Denver, Vikings, Saints.Baltimore has beaten KC and the Browns (2 of the worst teams in football) and barely beat the Chargers. I think everyone is kidding themselves with the Ravens talk. I watched the Baltimore-Cleveland game yesterday. The Browns played a familiar brand of football. I seem to remember watching it a lot early in this decade. The Bengals are not top 3. If they beat Cleveland and Baltimore, they should jump to around 6. Right now, 13-15 seems about right. membengal
Peter King moved Cincy into his "Fine 15" at number 14.Interestingly, in terms of what Cincy's early schedule has been, Denver and Green Bay are ranked above them and Pittsburgh checks in at a tie for 15. So, yeah. It hasn't been a walk in the park for the Bengals to start the season, just like we all figured.I had them for 1-2 at this point, so I am delighted with 2-1. Clackwoods
Baltimore is completely overrated right now. Who have they played? NOONE. The Chargers aren't that good. I am really liking the way our schedule is shaking out with remaining games against:Browns twiceChiefsRaidersLionsHouston (Inconsistent as hell, especially on the road)Chicago (Barely beat the Seahawks with a backup QB)I think we will win all but one of these games and I only say that as a let down game. That puts us at 8 wins. We have to pull out two to three wins against:Pittsburgh (Who we always play better on the road)Baltimore twiceSan Diego (Not that good)New York Jets (Week 17, they may rest everyone for the playoffs)Vikings (Week 14, Will Farve hold up that long?)That means we only need to go 2 and 4 or 3 and 3 against the good teams on our schedule to make it into the playoffs. The only teams that I think we would be underdogs to would be Minny, NY, Pitt, and because of the media hype Baltimore.

I think right now there a scary team to play they have alot of confidense, and if the Bengals win this week i think they should also have high confidense, and should make that game great. It will be a tough game for the Bengals, but if the offense can come out and play great from play 1, and the defense bounce back this week with a much better game then they had against the steelers, i could see a great game. membengal
I don't think anyone here "cares" as much as its something to talk about with regard to the national perception of this team.
Sea Ray
We'll talk much more about Baltimore next week but I see them as being better on offense but worse on defense as compared to a year ago. The D is a little older and I think they miss Rex running the show. However I do see them as an excellent team. If the Bengals can play with them then they can play with anyone. jonahdsage
About the only thing the rankings do for me is gauge whether or not this team is getting respect. Frankly, though, I don't really care. I would prefer the remaining teams on our schedule to think they're playing "the same old bungals" and wait and see what happens to them on Sunday. I really don't think the team cares, either.P.S. NFL.com has us ranked 10th

These rankings don't mean crap anyway.I was right, top 10 after beating the Steelers is where they should be.We take care of business in the next two weeks and we can expect a great ranking. Not until then. The Bengals have not played a complete game yet. Next week the tempo needs to be controlled. We need to dictate what happens in the game and win.If we beat Cleveland. Then the Baltimore game will be a huge test. They may be coming off a loss in New England mad as he!!. We wont win that game with false starts and bad snaps and wide open WRs in the endzone luckily dropping easy balls. In Three weeks we have needed a huge sack to push Denver out of field goal range to give us a chance to take the lead. A 3rd and 30 something miracle screen to our TE who fumbles and we get it and drive and score. A ridiculous pick 6 by Worthlessderger completely changing the game around. We cant rely on this each week. Take control now Bengals. Cleveland is a great place to start. HoosierCat
We cant rely on this each week. Take control now Bengals. Cleveland is a great place to start.Exactly. What's the old saying? "I'd rather be lucky than good?" Well, the Bengals have been good in spurts, but they've also gotten plenty of breaks (the end of the Denver game notwithstanding). I have a feeling that Cleveland is going to be tougher than anyone thinks, just because the Browns have absolutely nothing to lose. Bengals have plenty of room to raise their game, so start doing it! ArmyBengal
Well, for as many years as we have had to watch the ball bounce the other way, I'm not about to sit back and be upset about how things turn out because as they say, "that's why you play the games"... Do they have things to improve ?? Of course they do, but I'm also confident that getting wins early will help while the team figures those things out. Yeah, I'm still happy !!! membengal
13 per Banks on si.com.So, anywhere from around 10 - 13 this week.
