derekshank
What would you say the o-line looked liked, they didnt look great but looked solid. How could you say they looked like crap, Palmer had time to throw that int. was palmers fault. Did they have any sacks? If I had to grade the starting oline tonight I would give them a C-. Not good, not horrible, but 2 holding penalties and a limping QB after only 1 quarter is not "solid."Did you watch the game? Palmer completed a 55 yard throw on the play he came up limping. That means he had time to throw. That also means he wasn't taking a helmet to the sternum and coming up with a broken nose 2 steps into a 3-step drop (Which is what you predicted would be happening). So eat your crow, or don't - but we all know you're full of s**t.

Spot on with the sarcasm. What happens when the oline isn't facing vanilla defenses anymore?

Bearcat1975
I'm not saying the oline looked like 5 Rod Jones'. But they sure as hell weren't "solid."

Bearcat1975
They didn't help the Bengals' negotions tonight.Until Katie gets it through her increasingly round head that she is going to have to pay Smith where he is slotted, I suspect we are at a stalemate. Really, both Whit and Collins stood out like sore thumbs.
Baraka
my take on the first half:palmer looked scared, his passes were not crisp. and it wasn't the o-lines fault.scott is quick to the hole. i mean lightning quick.defense was solid. crocker is quickly becoming my favorite player.benson had holes to run through. and looked good doing it (minus the fumble)palmer looked scared. i know i already said that, but it was obvious and of deep concern.cheech may truly be moss jr. HoosierCat
You know it will be upgraded with him, so quit being a snit fitter. No, asswipe, I DON'T know it will be better, and for all your BS you don't either.I'd rather start Collins than an untried rookie. You're backing the fat guy who hasn't been in camp? Go for it.As for the o-line, let's look at last year. In the opener the Bengals had 118 passing yards total -- Palmer blew that number away on his own. And the team is on pace to equal last year's opener in terms of rushing yards. Are the perfect yet? No. Are you looking for any excuse to bitch? As ususal, yes.
Bearcat1975
Yet I'm thinking Marvin puts some pressure on The Precious after tonight. Really, both Whit and Collins stood out like sore thumbs.Whit always gets ate up by the speed rushers. I actually expect him to look good against the beef of the AFC North. But against the Freeney's of the world, Whit is going to get embarrassed.

ShulaSteakhouse
Michael Johnson and Hodge and Marvin White do well in that series - depth on defense at least, outside of the CB's.
HoosierCat
palmer looked scared, his passes were not crisp. and it wasn't the o-lines fault.I put that down to the loss of Housh and Kelly. Palmer's lost both his security blankets and is far from in the groove with Coles and Coats. Toss in opening night jitters and you have a recipe for sloppy play. Kazkal
good news Carson not out even a weekNEW ORLEANS _ Quarterback Carson Palmer stepped on a field for the first time in 313 days and he left again early with a mild left ankle sprain in his fourth and last possession of the Bengals' rocky preseason opener here Friday night here at the Superdome in which they were tied at 7 with New Orleans. But he's expected to be back next week. BengalBax
Guys, do you like what you see from us a team so far? Do you think our potential is good? I think we have some game changers....I think Bernard Scott, Chris Henry and Micheal Johnson are gonna have great Bengal futures (if Henry keeps raping DBS and not high school seniors lol)

It's my opinion, accept it or shut up already.Thinking that Smith would upgrade this line instantly is not exactly absurd.
