The Cincinnati fans get a pretty raw deal.....

It brings me no pleasure saying this, but think if I had to rank Cincinnati's fanbase it would fare no better than Mike Brown would rank amongst NFL GM's.

Dead last and scary stupid.

So, what happens now?

What's that? Actively attempt to publically embarrass the thing I claim to love at every given opportunity even though I know from the very start my actions will be futile?

The hell you say.

I think the "Good Ship Embarrassment" sailed long ago. Last news reports have it having a hard time finding port due to lack of a rudder.

Dead last and scary stupid.

The fact that this product even has a fanbase suggests a certain level of stupidity, no? Let's face it, we're all candidates for the short bus...

The Cincinnati fans get a pretty raw deal, but as evidence by this forum, most of them have gotten so used to it that they actually defend Brown when his scam is pointed out.

huh?

There are a few SoP apologists however they are in the distinct minority on this forum.

I sense you have been a bengals fan longer than your tenure on this forum indicates. Spend more time here and you will come to appreciate truly how most members view SoP.

the most potent way to express displeasure with the franchise would be a full-on boycott

They also encourage boycott, sir.

That said, a boycott would only work if a large number of people did so.....and these folks would have to specifically be the folks who buy seats at the stadium

The group of ticket buyers <> the group of WDR members

So again, all they can do in that respect is ENCOURAGE boycotting - which they do.

i've never visited their site or cared to ask about their tenets and encouragments. my main point was the effect they have on the players can not be positive.

i will not defend SoP . . . ever, but i can't support the other extreme either. the power of the two combined is what makes the bengals a laughingstock around the league. while i won't go as far as hair in saying the fans of the bengals are the worst in the league, they definitly rank toward the bottom. and i think WDR is compelling evidence to this point.

I don't know, as I think both are extremes when talking about Mike Brown and the WDR.

I think there are a large amount of fans that don't fall into either of the extreme catagories and make up a very loyal and faithful fanbase.

Evidence to this is the fact Cincinnati still has a football team to b*tch about.

I certainly understand where people are coming from on this though...

i completely agree with you army, the vast majority of fans are not WDR followers or SoP apologists, rather they are just reasonable people that support their hometown team. and those are the fans i enjoy talking with.

While I don't support the WDR or their tactics, I certainly understand the frustration that leads to their naive attempts to annoy the Bengals. They probably annoy other fans as much as they do the Bengals.

I also find it amusing that they use Che Guevara on their emblem, or whatever you call it. This thread has posts claiming economic socialism is the thing keeping the status quo in place with the Bengals. Yet WDR uses Che's image, a guy who endorsed and fought for socialism. Maybe they haven't thought that one through. Or maybe they just like Che's face in a hipster sort of way.

The plane banner is funny, but I agree that it is a discouraging message for the players trying to grind through camp. In case WDR hasn't noticed, Mike Brown is not one to give in to pressure from anyone, be it frustrated fans, other owners, the commissioner, the IRS, or Hamilton County officials. Or me, as I sent him an incredibly insightful letter, along with my recommendations, after week 8 last year to which he never responded.
