Odell Charges were dismissed

To be a bandwagon you'd have to root for more then one team. Before the Bengals i rooted for Michael Vick and was an NFL fan, NOT a Falcons fan. I enjoyed watching football because i played it. Sorry for not being an American and not growing up with a team in my city, but for all intensive purposes this is the only team i've ever rooted for. So before you start breaking out that term make sure you know that if i was one, i'dda been gone when they went 8-8 the next year.

"intents and purposes."

What the heck is an "intensive purpose?"

I also saw in this thread another baffling case of misspelling "lose" as "loose." As in, "there is a winner and a looser."

My question is, how can someone be a Bengals fan and not know how to spell "lose"???!!! :P

No, I'm not the grammar police, but if English is your first language... :o

What I am trying to figure out is how one word turned this place into the house of reps in DC.

Just one of those things I will never understand.

Why don't people misspell winner like "winer."?

loser = looser all the time, so why not winner = winer?

And the "intensive purposes" thing is just a pet peeve of mine. Like when people say "irregardless," or even worse...

"it is what it is..." (shudder)

Felony Assault Charge Dismissed Against Odell Thurman

Posted by Aaron Wilson on March 24, 2009, 7:27 p.m.

Former Cincinnati Bengals starting linebacker Odell Thurman was granted at least a temporary reprieve from a felony assault charge as prosecutors dismissed the case today without prejudice, according to the Associated Press.

However, the case could possibly be refiled if new evidence is found to substantiate an accusation that Thurman punched a man and broke his jaw at an indoor water park in Sandusky, Ohio.

Thurman told law enforcement authorities that it wasn’t him [Editor’s note: it’s technically known as the “Eddie Murphy defense“] who broke the man’s jaw, saying he was in his hometown in Georgia when the fight allegedly happened. He called it a case of mistaken identity.

The trial was scheduled to begin today.

Thurman was drafted in the second round out of Georgia in 2005, but was suspended for two seasons for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy. The Bengals cut him before last season.

In 2007, Thurman pleaded no contest to a DUI and told a judge he was undergoing treatment for a drinking problem. He is currently suspended indefinitely by the NFL.

You think Mikey the redeemer is alrdy calling him up about resigning ? Hahaha

You know i'd take him. lol I have a soft spot in my heart for the guy who helped make me a Bengals fan.

So says the "former" Thurmanation.

And for extra credit, whithout looking it up.....what is Boomer's full name?

Hint: I need first, middle, last, and some arithmetic.

Norman Julious Easison III?

Nope, but you did get the math correct.

Quick, try again before a drunk with power mod like Greg closes the thread.

He's right except for the spelling of Julius and Esiason.....if I'm not mistaken.

I spent last weekend at Kalahari with my wife and kids. 2000 screaming kids in a cavern made of steel and concrete. You're in there for like 5 minutes and you want to tee off on anyone within reach. It's truly one of the loudes places I've ever spent time in.

Quite the interesting thread we've got going here...

I spent last weekend rearranging my office and trying to figure out why the painters used such sh*tty paint that will surely need redone in the next couple months. Outside of that, I'm still trying to figure out where the white goes when the snow melts since I'm in South Dakota and feel I'm in a great position to answer this timeless question.

I haven't seen anyone mispell lose like loose on this topic. What the hell are you talking about BC? Also if you have that big of an issue with the term "all intensive purposes" than you have bigger problems then correcting other peoples grammar.

Also I don't come here to write s**t for you to grade, so please don't correct me. That is a pet peeve of mine, your not my comm teacher so don't act like it.
