Clackwoods
Well, Much to my distain, this isn't going to happen.http://www.heraldonline.com/front/story/1077202.htmlHe says that he wants to play in a 3-4, which obviously isn't us. I just hope he doesn't go to Baltimore or Cleveland. I defiantly don't want to see him twice a year. Maybe now we can focus on big Albert Haynesworth. ArmyBengal
Maybe now we can focus on big Albert Haynesworth. And maybe, just maybe, Jesus Christ will decide to descend from heaven and want to play for the Bengals. He could work a few miracles, by making Guychick an All-Pro, Carson bulletproof, and our medical staff competent. Oh yeah, THEN maybe Haynesworth would even consider playing in Cincinnati for less than 15mil per year to offset the thought of coming here to end his career... Bearcat1975
When have the Bengals ever signed a tier 1 free agent?Never. When will the Bengals sign Haynesworth, Ray Lewis, or any other high profile free agent potentially available this offseason?Same answer.I figure any Bengals fan who gets all "giddy" about this free agent or that, must either be a new Bengals fan or completely in denial.Nobody wants to play for this team. This is where players go when:1. They are on their last leg (has beens)2. They always sucked (never weres)3. Want to prove themselves but no other team wants to take a chance (NFL "jail")4. Drafted by Bengals so they are stuck here.Marvin started to change this feeling. Carson and Chad even resigned long term. I doubt Carson would resign at this point, and you know Chad wouldn't. Who DOESN'T want off of the Bengals ship? Heck, they'll even have to overpay Benson if they want him to stay. In a league of unprecedented parity, Mike Brown continually finds new ways to handicap his own franchise for profit.

The New Testament makes it clear that while Jesus was the only one capable of saving the sins of the world, he was at best a mediocre LB. Sure, he was good at getting after the QB on the overload blitz, but his weakness has always been in zone coverage. He just wouldn't fit in Cincy. In a league of unprecedented parity, Mike Brown continually finds new ways to handicap his own franchise for profit.Well first off I am neither a new Bengals fan or am I in denial (Well, maybe a little bit). What I am basing my hope on is the fact that we tried to sign Warren Sapp (Who at the time was only 30 I believe) to a big contract. We all know on here that if we had Albert in the middle of our line, Odom and Geathers would look like superstars. I know the chance of signing him is pretty nil, but it isn't completely out of the question. We can at least hope, that is until he signs a max contract in carolina or somewhere. I don't happen to share that sentiment when it comes to the Bengals, but hope is never a bad thing. Especially with this team.Hey maybe they will surprise us and hit a home run by signing a monster FA like Albert or Ray-Ray.And maybe Jessica Biel and Jessica Alba are cat fighting right now over who gets to be my "Main Jessica." Their is no WAY we get Ray Lewis, he won't leave Baltimore, however, He may if Ryan leaves! If he does leave, he may want to stay in the AFC North and I dont think the Steelers will sign him, he would probably go to the Browns with his buddy Lewis

Whur CHad At?
I am a bit amazed that there is a thread about us signing Julius Peppers, or Haynsworth. It just makes me laugh. Why the bloody hell would they sign here. Besides we have too much money tied up in our DE's and I kind of like what we have going at DT. Pat Sims and Peko could be a very good tandem. We might need to draft another big guy for rotation, but we need to worry about other things.

We might need to draft another big guy for rotation, but we need to worry about other things.Geathers is garbage and Odom can't do anything without Haynesworth killing people next to him. Peppers would automatically make our DLine legit. We aren't going to get him because he wants to play OLB, but it would be nice if he came here.Haynesworth is a no brain pickup. You have a 3 man rotation at DT and if we had Peko, Sims, and him rolling off the ball it would make our garbage DE's good. I do agree we have a lot of things to worry about besides those two, but if we were able to get either one, it would make everyone on our defense better. Whur CHad At?
You really think mike brown is goona spend $50 million to get him here. Cuz that is probably what he'll ask for seeing that the highest paid DT Cory Redding makes roughly around $46-48 mill and I believe Mr.Haynsworth is slightly better than Mr.Redding. I don't see us doing seeing after our buddy Odom was a total and complete bust.
ArmyBengal
Would Haynesworth make our D-line better ?? Yes, INSTANTLY...Will he come to Cincinnati ?? No, NOT EVEN A HOPE...To much money. And from I remember, most big name free agents have used Cincinnati as a tool for getting the big dollars somewhere else, not because they really had any intention of playing here. Some call it a bargaining ploy. I call it being used like a little b*tch !!!While we are at it, I'm not ready to label Odom a bust of a FA pickup quite yet either. Give the guy at least one more year and the opportunity to be healthy. He missed all of camp and the majority of the season due to injury. When he did come back, half the d*mn team was on IR and you can't tell me after coming back from a big absence that you are right back where you should be. Like I said, I'll give it another year before I say how big of a waste of money it was to bring him in here.

IMO I would love to have him, but the prospect of getting a 23 year old center to run our line the rest of Carson's career is just to appealing to me. I think we understand that we are two years away from an honest shot at the Superbowl so I think we go with one of the two powerhouse centers in round 2. This is a good year to do it because of the depth in this draft at the position. Honestly, if it was me running the team I would pull a Madden Franchise move and trade my third, fourth, and fifth rounders for another second and pick up that RB from Pitt.So we would have one of the top rated defenders or the best available OT in round 1A top Center in round 2And a Tier 2 RB in round 2.I would be happy as hell with that draft. Moreover, since he never gets hurt, we could then trade Carson for a practice bubble, making Cincinnati the FA top choice. Kitna comes in as OC and it's all good. HairOnFire
JC has a cannon for an arm and would immediately make Palmer the best backup QB in the league. Please. Once you get past the rising from the dead thing I think most would agree JC's physical gifts were modest at best.....unless there was some truth to the rumors about a 20-year old JC traveling to the far east and becoming a ninja. Personally, I'm not buying it.
COB
With Jesus as our QB, we'd make the Super Bowl. But imagine the conversation between Goodell and Mike Brown:Goodell: "Mike, why is your boy turning over all the tables at 'The NFL Experience'?"Mike: "Darned if I know."Goodell: "And what's with him always hanging around with the sleazy BenGals? Don't you have a rule against fraternization with cheerleaders?"Mike: "I don't know if we do or not. Ask my cousin. Or my brother-in-law."Goodell: "Finally, we're going to drug test him. You put him on season ending IR right after Ray Lewis blew him up so bad he was non-responsive for hours. Three days later, you petition to let him play again. What gives?"Mike: "Quick healer."Goodell: "I hate you."Mike: "I know."
