TJJackson
I dont have a tape of the game to review, unfortunately.....so I have no way to get these two questions answered on my own:1) who took Whitworth's spot after the ejection?2) what spots did Collins play (if any) other than "tackle eligible" ie jumbo blocking tight end? HairOnFire
Go away. Nobody here wants your advice. I'll go when I feel like it, but thanks for your opinion....such as it is. BTW, I find it amusing how posters on other Bengal message boards are busy discussing the quality of Anthony Collin's play, while the posters on this message board are still trying to figure out IF Collins played at all. Watch the game.
TJJackson
*shrug* I was out that day and I don't have a tape. I don't have a way to "watch the game". I would if I could.I didn't think it would be objectionable to admit I had not seen the game and to express an interest in finding out if Collins got playtime. Fair eno?I want all the youngsters to get playtime - to be clear, I see each remaining game as "extended preseason" for 2009. Play the newbs, find out what they can do, because the veterans just ain't gettin it done.
HairOnFire
I didn't think it would be objectionable to admit I had not seen the game and to express an interest in finding out if Collins got playtime. Fair eno? More than fair. In fact, I've got no problem with anyone admitting that they watched the game and never noticed Collins at all. But here's the thing. If someone didn't see something....shouldn't they keep their dripping mouth shut when other people are discussing things they actually observed? Again, I've got no problem with your role in this thread because all I see you doing is asking questions about something you didn't witness. If our positions were reversed I'd be doing exactly the same things. But what's up with everyone still demanding something from the Bengals that's already happening OR questioning whether it happened at all when other posters discuss it? Bottom Line: It's NOT an opinion. Anthony Collins played in the last game.

BengalPappaw
According to a Dayton Daily News report. Collins said he could not remember whether it was 4 or 5 plays that he got into during the game against Jacksonville. He played left tackle in the "bigs package" while Levi went to TE next to Stacy. Towards the end of the game Levi went to RT and Andrews to RG Kooistra to LG and Collins to LT... He played good..It was a joke. I will use the argument that I utilized when I backed into my sister-in-law's brand new car. 'In my defense, I wasn't looking'. I am far beyond watching every play. I had it on while I was cleaning under my basement steps. How sad is that? I did check Pat Sims out on a few plays though. Besides, it's hard to concentrate on the Offensive Line with Ghiaciuc flying through the picture on every play...
HairOnFire
I am far beyond watching every play. I watch every play. In fact, I almost always watch the game a second time using my DVR to look for the very types of things being discussed in this thread. Always have. But lets face it......nobody sees everything. For example, while I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt Collins had played I have to confess something. You see, the posters on the GoBengals message board discussed a sweep play that Collins apparently broke down on, and for the life of me I don't remember it. And yeah, I'd watched the game twice before deleting it. So what's up with that? Did I miss it twice? And riddle me this. If there are plays involving Collins that I don't remember (sweep?)....how can Collins say he played in fewer plays than I actually do remember? Because I can clearly remember that many and assumed I had probably missed a few. So, when he offers a guess of "four or five" is that the number of snaps he played at LT? I'm not sure I would put a competitor through that, let alone a Customer. I could just kick them in the grapes and save us all a few hours. I will, however, make an effort to look for Collins. Again, it's kind of hard to focus on anything, in the area of the OL, other than Bluto getting blown off the ball.
ArmyBengal
Not to get off topic to much...Hair, do you post over at GoBengals ?? I look there during my work day because I can't access Bengalszone and there seems like an overabundance of homerism there... Oh well, just curious because you don't fit that bill and will have to look for the guy sticking out like a sore thumb !!!

I actually got banned on that board partly because I pointed out how horrible Perry is... Who is laughing now? Perry can't even start let alone play a significant amount of time for a team that is 1-8!

And why is Benson looking so much better behind the same line even though defenders are stacking the box with Fitz as the starting QB? HairOnFire
Hair, do you post over at GoBengals ?? Nope. After the old Huddles message board blew up and it's members overwhelmingly moved to Gobengals I became a member of that site soley to say goodbye. Since then I've limited my involvement on that site to lurking.....and I even gave that up, there and here, for several weeks. For better or worse, I consider this message board to be my home. Though to be perfectly fair, I do admit I define the concept of home as wherever a person feels most comfortable taking a crap. So there's that.
