Odell's post Bengal's career

Why do we even allow Thurman posts anymore? This thread was obviously started to agitate people (one in particular, I believe), and is accomplishing nothing.

As to Thurman, I still believe we made a mistake, and I won't change my opinion about that. However, I'm not going to get drawn into that argument again. I just wish as Bengals fans we could save the animosity for people who deserve it, like Browns and Steelers fans.....

Actually, you will change your opinion if he never plays another NFL game, or gets signed and sucks. Just us those that think it wasn't a mistake will change their opinions when he produces, wins a Super Bowl, or goes to Canton.

Bottom line is, the future will be what it is. You don't think we should even allow the Thurman posts anymore? Don't freaking respond. It's amazing how everyone feels compelled to respond to everything on this board.

I say that because the last thurman thread got closed because it degraded into a name calling thread that wasn't very productive.

And if I feel that this thread's origins are childish in nature, then I have every right to say so. Just like you have every right to respond to my post if you don't like it.

I absolutely agree and support your right to say whatever you want. I find irony, however, in your 'No one should dignify that with a response' response. I'm not saying, I'm just saying, that' all.

I didn't say I wouldn't defend myself if called clueless and stupid....

I understand I am getting on in years here, but I don't recall the part of this thread where someone said, "Boy, Ickey really is clueless and stupid." If I missed that, I apologize for the oversight.

They didn't say it just like that, but yeah....

I can appreciate where you're coming from. I've been blasted on this site for differing opinions. I think it'll happen to anyone that actually has opinions at some point. And I've found myself getting into pissing matches back and forth on stuff that doesn't matter. Once I finally realize the more I post, the more they post and my pride allows me to not respond, the thread, or at least my part of it, dries up quickly.

Like I said, ultimately I hope Odell makes good. I'm not seeing any current signs of hope, but who knows? If I personally said anything that could be interpreted as "you're clueless and stupid", to you or anyone else, I apologize.

gives the 110% that we were used to seeing from Chad

He's never given 110%.

Giving 110% means attending every OTA

Giving 110% means blocking for the running game rather than escorting your DB to the ballcarrier

Giving 110% means willingly going over the middle

Giving 110% means playing DB when the ball intended for you ends up in the defender's hands instead

Giving 110% means getting the extra 3 yard on a 8 yard catch on 3rd and 11 instead of trotting out of bounds

Giving 110% means conducting yourself in a personable manner at all times, accepting the criticism as well as the glory

Giving 110% means running charity events where the winner of major prizes is legitimate, not your own girlfriend

Giving 110% means operating under the same set of rules as everyone else, rather than expecting special treatment.

Giving 110% means meeting and EXCEEDING the terms of your contract

Giving 110% means paying your share of property taxes to support our local schools

Keeping score? He does NONE of this. Thats 0%.

I'd actually argue that he does less than 0% due to the outright damage he has done to this team

You have your tongue so far up this ignoramus's behind that you can't see any of this

4 probowls back to back to back to back.... Your right, he gives 0%

He gets into Pro Bowls because he has a few (very few) big games that make him look unstoppable.

During those same games, tho, he still doesn't go over the middle and he certainly doesn't run block

Frankly, as a football player, he is a wuss. A pansy. A nancy-boy. You've got plenty of that in yourself, so I can understand how you can relate so positively to him - he's a kindred soul.

Alright, fun's fun. Agreen and I don't always see eye to eye, either, but we don't need the name calling. Grow up, for God's sake.
