With one of the 2nd day picks I'd love to see the Bengals grab a hard hitting safety.

I was scouring the net and here's some guys who when they hit a RB they can go backwards. These are in the box type of guys. Phillips for Mia will probably get scooped up in the 1st or 2nd but there will be some hitters left day 2.

He may be a free agent pickup but Haruki Nakamura from UC is a ball hawking madman who I would love to see the Bengals take a chance on, wouldnt get upset even if they used a 7th round pick on him, I watched just about every UC game I could and all he did was cause turnover after turnover all thru the Big East and will throw his body around like no other.

First off, we have like a dozen safeties on the roster right now, including a guy from the CFL who was brought in (near as i can tell) for just exactly what you are asking for - hits.

Second, Chinedum did remarkably well last year - I had no faith in him when he was drafted, but I was won over by year's end. I'd like to see him get the starts and see how he develops rather than hand the reigns to some new kid

Third, in addition to the footage above, you might want to check out "The Great White Hit" footage as well.

Finally, one of the many players returning from injury is S Ethan Kilmer. Go back and watch the tape of the 2006 game versus New Orleans :-) Yeah, you'll see plenty of Jonathan Joseph as well.

Bottom line: no picks of safeties until very late in the draft if at all, please....

I'd like to see them bring him in for special teams. He was a great player at UC and in HS as well as having a wrestling background in HS. If guys like Busing and Kilmer are going to get more playing time, then bringing in a heady player like this would be a good move. Problem is he might be popular with alot of teams, especially his hometown Browns.

This team has SO many sleeper safties its rediculos... I mean White ALONE could be considered a starter on a very good D.

Drafting Ellis at #9 could very well deliver that "D" you speak of. I sincerely pray for this.

Tyrell Johnson fits the mold of the tweener CB/FS/SS type the Bengals seem to prefer, and he's a 4 year starter. I consider that experience a major plus when being compared to higher rated but slightly raw prospects like DaJuan Morgan and Thomas DeCoud. Both of those players are crushing hitters with more upside, but again....they're more raw and far more mistake prone. Morgan started only one season, DeCoud two.

I love big time sleeper Corey Lynch from Appalachian State--he is the guy that beat Michigan.

The guy is the kind of player that is always in the right spot and always makes the big plays.

He blocks kicks, gets interceptions, he does it all

This guy would be in the 1st round if he were at a big school.

Best of all he should come cheap 5th to 7th round.

If you are going early in the draft for a S I like Quinton Demps and Thomas DeCoud

He sounds like Mike Brown from the Bears. We could use a guy like that.
