heatinohio
Wow, that's harsh fellas. What's going on with this, its like Cincy is DT kryptonite?
BlainThePain
Anybody here wish that the Bengals would go back to their old ways of trying to do nothing?
Pidge
Haha. I promised myself I wouldn't get excited this time. Thank Gawd I didn't. Cross your fingers time for Ellis/Dorsey I guess. I guess I'd rather pocket the money too. I wonder if he's such a problem for the Jets that they cut him. They must have used an awful lot of cap space up the last few days. HoosierCat
Haha. I promised myself I wouldn't get excited this time. Thank Gawd I didn't.Yeah. I kind of figured this wouldn't go because there was just no way Robertson would redo his deal for anything less than franchise-caliber bucks, and that was unlikely to be in the offing in Cincy. He knows being cut has it's advantages as it makes him a free agent who can then renegotiate a contract with any team. He can hand pick the coach he'll play for and more importantly the city he'll live in.

A fair bit of money is already tied up in too few positions for us to commit to overpaying by that much.
COB
His agent was obviously against a trade from the beginning. My understanding is the Jets are absolutely going to cut him. His agent figured why do a favor for the Jets and limit negotiations to one team. And at that, it would be one team who looks at his value as a 4th and 5th round pick. Let them cut him and you've got multiple teams looking at your former first round pick.

Maybe, in a perfect world, he is cut and we get in touch again. *keeps dreaming*

We can and should, do just as well for less with someone else.

If not and nothing is done via a trade or in FA then, gulp, Thornton it is.

Spor_tees
It was just on the Lexington news that Robertson was visiting Cincy today and that the deal still might be going through soon.

Horsemen
I give up all together. Screw it. Even when Bengals try they still can't get the talent to come to their team. I tried being optomistic all weekend over it all but well..... When 20 other teams have already nabbed at least one FA and we've failed twice and been turned down once? Pfffft. Maybe we can sign some more CFL players.
