Bengals1
The bottom line answer is most probably yes. This organization would kill anyone. As long as the Brown family owns and operates this franchise Vince Lombardi himself could rise from the grave and fail here!
TJJackson
As long as the Brown family owns and operates this franchise Vince Lombardi himself could rise from the grave and fail here!Well, the jury is out on the family as a whole - Paul Brown was clearly a great football mind, his son.....err.......is not. I can't see Pumpkin being any worse, and she could certainly be better.
joshh967
I honestly think the bengals haven't ruined anyone. Everyone is so hell bent on thinkin Marvin is sitting around doing nothing. I think everyone will be pleasantly surprised when he cleans house on defense next year (including coordinator). I mean Marvin doesnt tell the media ever what he is doing, he certainly wouldnt make a big deal of this either, it will just kind of happen. Yea this season is a loss but everyone should remember there is a difference between being simply a homer and also being a good supportive fan. I'm looking forward to seeing who here are actually true fans.

The fight to get to the top. The Bengals will eventually reign as Champs with Carson Palmer as our QB1... I believe Marv will make it better next year and he'll start with a good long talk to the man at the top of the totem! Major changes are coming our way guys. Kirkendall
Marvin Lewis, I believe, will be highly sought. Why? I mean, you can't deny that he did turn this around. Until it turned back around. But the first turn around is a golden nugget for Lewis for about 20 other NFL teams. Plus I still maintain that this is Lewis' first NFL gig and that he's still finding his true identity as a head coach.

COB
Marvin's a good coach. I believe the Bengals will be back next year, and without some of the drama queen head case players that have dragged this team down. My one nagging doubt about Marvin is that he failed to toughen this team up. Lose? Ok, you've got injuries and suspensions and a stupid DC so you have a bad year and you lose. But please, lose while kicking your opponent in the nuts, giving Roger Goodell the finger, and spitting in the face of everything that is beating you down. Watching the Ravens go down to the Pats on Monday night really showed me something. The veteran leadership on the Bengals needs to toughen up. They lose with a shrug. I want them to lose with their fist in someone's face. You're not playing in the PAC 10 in Cali anymore Carson, you're in the AFC North. Start acting like it. Chad, instead of loving on the other team's DBs, and flirting with their HC, how about beating someone's ass. If they can't be baited, start something. That kind of 15 yarder we can take. And to anyone on the defense, even though you clearly are not Ray Lewis or Ed Reed, just start acting like it. Fake it. Eventually, you fake intensity and aggression long enough, you'll become intense and aggressive. The heart follows the hand. For God's sake Bengals, quit being the lamb. Be the wolf. BengalszoneBilly
My one nagging doubt about Marvin is that he failed to toughen this team up.Please...Marvin couldn't toughen up a cheap round steak by over grilling it by an hour. He doesn't get in people faces during a game when they need it, and if he doesn't have the stones to do it then, he doesn't have it at all. He may talk the talk, but he ain't sure walkin' the walk. I'm willing to give him one more year, but he sure as hell better get a saltier attitude, chew some asses, and get the Bengals to the playoffs one way or another. walzav29
I think it's the evolution of a young coach. THis is his first head coaching job. He never was employed by a franchise that had a worse history than Cincinnati. Especially when he took over. I think he thought they were just a few guys away, but the stink of the franchise he took over still remains. I love Willie, Chad and J. Smith but they still have that beaten dog mentalilty. When things get bad though will say how they don't want things to be like they used to. There is no reason to ever talk about those days again. I believe Marvin is a great coach. This off-season will be great.
Allreltney
If I had a nickel for every "give him one more year" or "wait until next year" or "they GOTTA DO THIS OR THAT to be THIS OR THAT" I could retire today.IMO, the Cincy fans have to make a stand NOW to turn this around, otherwise you will be posting ten years from now saying the same thing and looking back at what should have been. One more year, wait till next year, or they got to do this my ass......you need to stop going to games to make it all happen!Hit the ignorant sons of bitches in the wallet and then watch em change.Or you can keep talking and speculating and keep handing over your hard earned money for the privilege of being able to say you have the most pathetic NFL club in the league, and it's a novelty we as fans will continue to support no matter how stupid they make you look. Now please pass this 20 down the aisle to the vendor for a beer and a dog please, I don't want to miss our high school caliper Coach and defense get scored on again! On the way out I want a 75.00 jersey too thanks!
walzav29
Hate to say it, but 11-5 was by far the best season they had under Mike BrownSam Wyche (last season was when Mike to over)Dave ShulaBruce CosletDick LebeauMarvin LewisThe only guy he thought of on his own was Dave Shula. He never got another job in the NFL. Lewis is the only thing he has done right. Marvin just has to push harder for what he needs. It's not like Mike will get Shanahan. Just browse the 90's and see how bad they were. Marvin getting these guys to 11-5 was a miracle.
ArmyBengal
There's an old saying in the Army that goes..."False motivation is better than none at all"Apply this to the Bengals defense and there you go. No motivation, no fire, no nothing !!! Just once I would like to see one of our defensive players get pissed off and F*CKING HIT SOMEONE !!! Do something to ignite a fire under the asses of the players. Gimme some players that at least appear to give a sh*t about what is going on out on the field.Marvin has to do something, but I will still give him credit for bringing the team out of where they were and will give him at least one more season...WHODEY !!! NYBengalfan
I dont think that its Marvin's fault completely. I give most of the blame to Mr. Brown. But I only can be mad at Marvin because I think that he lost control of the team this year, starting after the Denver Game, on Xmas eve. GregCook
Unless Marvin, secretly during games was telling opposing teams to hurt these players, Marvin alone, had little to do with this debacle. After all, once Jeanty and Henry got back, they started to play better. Look at this list, there are quite a few impact players that barely played a real game. If half of them played from Sept to December, this team would be in the hunt for January playtime. But clearly Marvin has a trend going now, from 2005, his teams have played worse and worse. If he doesn't turn it around next season, he's facing a coaching market that places him as a an assistant somewhere.Reserve/Injured* RookiePlayer Name Brooks, Ahmad Burks, Dan * Elling, Aaron Henderson, Eric Irons, Kenny * Jones, Herana-Daze Kieft, Adam 70 Kilmer, Ethan 43 Marshall, Lemar Miller, Caleb 58 Perry, Tab 88 Williams, Brandon PlusOdell ThurmanChris HenryDavid Pollack
Chad Johnson
David Pollack and Odell Thurman are huge. I hate to think about how different this team coul be with the 2 of them. And damn I miss Dick LeBeau. IMO one of the great defensive geniouses of football. If he was our D Coordinator with Marvin Lewis at HC and someone else at OC This could be a good team with our lack of talent on defense. But no Marvin Lewis ist ruined...not yet and he will go on to have success (wether or not thats here is unseen)
