damiancasey Posted October 3, 2007 Report Posted October 3, 2007 I hear a lot of people saying trade chad right now but let me ask you this...Would you have said that before the Pats game? Or is the meltdown what's making you want to trade him.All I'm saying is that one f-d up game does not a sh*tty player make.I don't think we should trade him. I've always found him "cautiously amusing" but his shennanigans definitely got instantly old for me on Monday night. For what it's worth he has come out and apologized and said he shouldn't have done what he did. Just wondering if a lot of folks are suffering a collective pissed off kneejerk. We need change but we don't want to shoot ourselves in the foot (or feet)! Quote

Just wondering if a lot of folks are suffering a collective pissed off kneejerk. It's not one thing. It's a laundry list of things big and small. For example, what did Chad do when Marvin demanded he take down his list of CB's who couldn't cover him. After he pouted and sulked for a season he took his "Who can cover 85?" list to the internet...found a corporate sponsor....and filmed commercials. In short, he took the list out of his locker and went national with it. Quote
HoosierCat Posted October 3, 2007 Report Posted October 3, 2007 Well, per Hobs, the Bengals are all one big happy family again. Chad says it's his fault, Cartson says no, my bad, its just like how I used to beat up my little brother all the time for no reason (or something like that) and Marvin returns to his soft-spoken quiet ways, apologizing for his little outburst after Monday's game. Yup, all happy happy joy joy once again... Quote
volcom69 Posted October 4, 2007 Report Posted October 4, 2007 Apologize for what everything he said is true this team is selfish and always will be until they learn to play like a team the only thing he didnt say was he was out coached which he was and has been all year but one game i think he forgot that part. Also he gives the Bengals added exposure with all of the endorsement deals, the Brown family has to like the free advertising they get with Ocho Cinco. To quote our resident god aka Carson Palmer...Palmer "It's not fair; Chad is as passionate as any player in the history of the game," Palmer said. "It's not fair to point the finger at him. It's not his fault. "It's not one guy, but that's the way it is. If it's not Chad, it's me. If it's not me, it's Willie (Anderson). If it's not Willie, it's the D-coordinator. But we win as a team and lose as a team. If anybody points the finger at Chad, they're wrong." Since Chad has been in the NFL he has not missed a tackle nor blown a coverage which resulted in a touchdown, when our defense is giving up an avg of 32 points and 400 yrds/game it's hard to say a wr is the reason why were losing games. Stripes Posted October 4, 2007 Report Posted October 4, 2007 I wouldn't call Chad the bright eyed angel that he is sometimes made out to be in Cincinnati, but I see no gain in trading him. Whether that'd help get the locker room in order is arguable, but I'm more worried about who we put on the field. T.J. isn't built to be a #1 receiver, and we certainly don't have any other #2s. To be perfectly honest, I'm not looking to gain from the trade in regards to onfield talent. I'm looking for a push. The improvement, if you can manage it, would come in the form of greater maturity, better poise, a less divisive locker room, and a more serious team image. In short, we've all enjoyed the ride but I think it's time for the circus to leave town. The rub is that Chad doesn't have to leave if he's willing to end his career as the hinterlands most lovable spastic clown. It's up to him. As for who the Bengals would start in Chad's place? The trade would have to take place in the offseason, giving the Bengals the opportunity to add another veteran WR. And they'd have other options as well since any trade return would almost certainly be built around, but not limited to, at least one high draft pick. Quote
cincy9275 Posted October 5, 2007 Report Posted October 5, 2007 i think it is marvins fault he built this team besides a hand full of players. marvin is responsable for the way this team acts and plays he is the head coach boss of these players. when somthing is not working it is marvins job to get it right or come down on the coaches that are in charge of that part of the team to get it corrected. that has not happend as of yet. yea the injuries have not helped, but why did marvin only go in to the game with 4 healty players at lb. i mean he knew he was shorthanded and did nothing to help us there . just as when graham was hurt the first week he did not carry another kicker those are not very smart moves at all. i think as some have said marvin needs to look in the morror and see if what he is doing is right for this team and since the 4th game of last season he is not been very good. he need to put his foot down and hopefully that little blow up helps get started in the right direction but only time will tell. as for chad he needs to stop all the bulls**t that has nothing to do with playing the game. the td celebrations are not needed and are a distraction. if he would put the effort he puts in to his so called show in to playing the game he would , i think be that much better. he is not a performer as he calls it. he is a football player and needs to worry about what happens on the field and not what he going to do if he scores. we all know this team is not this bad but the are a mess as as group. from what i have seen we are hurting ourself's in games and i believe our miscues are what is causing us to lose games. i mean yea the pats are a better team but loses to cleveland and the seahawks are games we could have won if not for the mistakes. we need to clean up what we are doing on the field and just play sound football and i think we can win. but marvin has to hold the coaches and players responsable for there play because this team is not mentally ready to play and that is marvins job to get them ready. if player and coahes can't get the job done try to find some on that can. take a stand marvin and show these guys this crap needs to stop now! if it gets any worse then marvin may just lose any respect these players have if they still have any.
