I know it's not exactly Bengals realated and I will move later, but I wanted to share how happy I am right now... I start my travel tomorrow morning to come back to Cincinnati on my mid tour leave. It will probably take me about 4 days or so to get back, but I'm on my way !!! I get 15 days at home with Mrs. ArmyBengal and ArmyBengal Jr. and I can't wait !!! My little dude has gone from not being able to hold his head up the last time I saw him, to walking around saying "Dada" !!! Anyway (now the Bengals part) I'll be at the Monday Night Game against the Pats sitting in Section 106 (I think row 7, I'll check) and if anyone is going to be there, it would be cool to meet some of you guys. Any tailgaiting going on ?? Anyway, take it easy guys and I'll talk to you all soon...

WHODEY !!!

Wait a minute - suspiciously just in time for the Patriots game, some bad-ass army Bengals guy gets brought home from Afghanistan. Mikey's sending you on a mission to infiltrate the Patriots and steal their signals didn't he!!!!! It's OK, I won't tell!!!

Seriously, congratulations!

I couldnt be happier for you to be coming home. You will be blown away with how much your little one is able to do. I had a little boy not long after you did and I dont go more than a couple of days without thinking of you and your family and the sacrifice that you have given to serve.

I consider you and all those like you to be the best of America and I wish you the best 15 days with your family as anyone has ever had.

I know you dont need another reason to, but give your little one a hug from me!

All the best and more, God Bless you and yours.

For those that are the powers that be in this forum, I wonder if we couldn't do something for our Bengal friend that obviously does so much for us. I really have nothing specific in mind, but off the top of my head, I was thinking of someone trustworthy (aren't you all :-) ) that might be able to receive and distribute some small token of appreciation from us ... with the hope of making his stay a little easier and lighter on the pocket. I know that this almost sounds silly, and it surely is not meant in any insulting manner ... I just would like to offer some token if I could. Perhaps ArmyBengal is even willing to simply accept such things directly through a mailing address? Not sure ... I have no idea of what might be the proper way to do this or even ask ... but I just want to give something directly to a guy who has given more than any of us. Might be small ... might be the least we can do ... but it's on my heart.

Ideas?

That's awesome news. I didn't get a mid tour break when I was in Iraq but the guys who did have a hard time returning back to the sand box. Enjoy your time home! Get some skyline, LaRosa's pizza and enjoy the game. I'm hoping that we get a win. That should give you some positive news to talk about when you get back to your unit.

Beat me to it. It might be stretching things, but message board brothers in arms, right?

As for ideas, I've got a few that might work but I'll hold onto to them for the moment....at least until we decide if this is a covert op or some garsih display of shock and awe.

So, do we go black? (PM?)

Thanks guys, I appreciate the words and Duus, while I appreciate the sentiment, having people acknowledge what not only myself, but MANY Soldiers are doing over here, is enough for me.

I just wanted to share my happiness and excitement to see my family again and let people know I was going to be at the game if anyone else is going to be there or tailgaiting some.

Well, I have to get some sleep, as I have to wake up early to leave. I will be back on here when I get a chance back at the house and let you guys know things are well and check in prior to the MNF game against the Pats.

Once again, thanks for the words and we will talk to you all again soon !!!

Here's to hoping for a win this weekend !!!

WHODEY !!!

If he doesn't want to accept then you can always donate to the Fisher House, VFW, or Operation Uplink which are all pretty good ones.

I'll be at the game and will have to stop by. Update with row seat#'s please.

Peace,

Great for you Army. I would just love to see the look on your face when you get to see that little one again!

This to me, is about the best complinet I can give and it really strikes me if anyone ever says it to me. You are a good person, Army,a great man!

Congrats on the leave time and use it wisely!

Fair enough, I'll respect your wishes.

That said, I had a few ideas that I felt would have been fun and appropriate. For example, I think you and your little man would have looked great wearing matching Kevin Kaesviharn jerseys.

Peace.

Alright guys, back in the 'nati and happy as all hell !!! It was great getting off the plane and seeing my family again. They let my wife and son come all the way back to the gate so I didn't have to wait to walk all the way back to the security area where the rest of my family was waiting. That was one of the single best moments in my life !!! Anyway, everyone is great and things are well. After the 21 hour total plane ride and 8 1/2 hour time difference, I am still a little on the sleepy side, but doing pretty good. I've already gotten some LaRosa's and we had El Coyote last night for dinner.

Matching K2 jerseys huh HOF ?? I laughed for a good while over that thought !!!

Anyway, I was right on the section for the Monday night game... We are in section #106, row #7, seats 9 and 10...

If anyone is going to be tailgaiting, let me know. If anyone else is going to be there, feel free to drop by the section to say hey or let me know what section you are going to be in and we will see if we can't get some pics for Billy to post on here !!!

Talk to you guys before the game Monday, but not to much !!! Later...

WHODEY !!!
