It's not over by any means. Yes, this was pretty much the most embarassing loss ever. And by embarrassing, I mean I am contemplating suicide. But there's still a long season ahead of us and I think we've still got a good football team. We need to get up, dust ourselves off and get ready for the Seahawks. Hopefully this embarrassment lights a fire under the ass of this team and gets them going. Let's get back on track, starting next week!

I was amazed that he didn't catch an axe after the San Diego ....... game ???? game doesn't seeem to be the right word for that. The only possible explanation that I could come up with was that Coach Lewis didn't want to be swapping out DC's every 2 years.

Well I'd feel a hell of a lot better anyway. A guy who can't protect his QB's SIX TD performance with some kind of plan does not deserve to work in the NFL. Stuff your injury arguments up your ass. This was against a (at best) second string QB. NO EXCUSES! The defense sucks just as I warned!

Ohhhh, am I glad I was off-site today. Me, my Buffalo pal, my NYJ pal, some beers, burgers, dogs...and a big fat 0-3 for all of us. Whatta day.

I haven't had time to dissect things, but from what I saw of the game I would like to give a big fat "YOU SUCK" out to Caleb Miller. Not that the whole D didn't suck, but every time I looked it seemed to be Caleb blowing a chance or giving up a play. We kept him and cut Hartwell? What's up with that?

And those special teams...wow! Someone tell me again about routine bottom roster churn and how we didn't need guys like Wilkins and Stewart and K2 anyhow. What we saw in Balti with Reed's return...just a preview. Sad. D sucked but if I have to pin this loss on any unit...hello, special teams! You guys are so "special" you get to ride the short bus home!

I'd say the preview was the preseason as things didn't look any better then, did they? And the bottom of the roster churn we're all hating right now was indeed routine, but that doesn't mean that the players who are gone won't be missed for awhile. They will, and I'd say it's no great shakes to predict such a thing.

The real question you should be asking is how does a team find a way to overpay each of the players who left....after overpaying for each of the STARTERS they managed to keep?

Latter question answers the former, does it not? Reach, for instance, a long-term deal with Justin, free up a couple million, you can keep a Stewart and a Wilkins. Bengals decided not to do that. Biggest reason we got burned today was the sacrifice made on STs. Yeah, 3, 4, 5, 6 games in the STs might finally come together...but by then they may have already put us in a W/L hole we can't climb out of.

Don't kid yourself the season is over, yes we do get to watch some more football games from the Bengals but honestly if we can't stop Cleveland what are we going to do against Indy and the rest of the big boys. I guess we will see in a couple of weeks we play New England on national t.v., I'm loving the thought of that because Marvin your pathetic defense will be only blast before a national audience. It's not about just getting to the playoffs it's about having a real opportunity to get to the superbowl and I'm just not believing that the Bengals have that opportunity with the defense they have.

This should not be surpising to anyone. marvin cannot coach his team to consistency. I am sadly sticking with my 8-8 record, however, we will now need a win I thought we would not need just to reach that. 7-9 is not out of the question now. So if that means the season is over, then so be it. Fu(# I am so mad.

Each of the last three seasons the Bengals have taken part in the highest scoring game of the year.

Losing to the likes of Cleveland is not a positive in any way whatsoever. Still, I'm glad they got their annual meltdown out of the way in week two rather than midseason or later. This won't happen again in 2007. Simple as that.

K2, Wilkins, and Stewart. You seem to be shedding alot of tears for a bunch of departed role players who left for three teams that are currently 0-6. Has any of the three made a single play this season?

Look, special teams are a wreck right now because of numerous reasons that everyone knows all too well but the one coach on this staff I'd hate to see leave is Simmons.

BTW, I wasn't kidding in an earlier thread when I suggested the Bengals squib every kick off until they can get their act together. You eliminate almost any chance of a deep return and dramatically increase the odds of a turnover in exchange for surrendering an average of about 15 yards in field position.
