A London show is being advertised

Led Zeppelin look set to reform for a gig at London's O2 Arena this autumn.

Although there has been no official announcement that the legendary rockers will perform again 27 years after they disbanded, advertisements appeared in the national press today (September 1) with top-price ticket and hotel packages on offer for £369.

A cheaper package from the Premier Entertainments company, including a night in a four-star hotel, is available for £269, reports This Is London.

Callers today were told: "It's just about to be officially announced."

Promoters subsequently told BBC 6 Music not to book tickets "just yet", but did not deny the story.

The reunion has been rumoured all year, and suspicions were further aroused when it was revealed the band would release a 2-CD 'Best Of' compilation called 'Mothership' on November 11.

It's thought that original drummer John Bonham's son Jason would replace him on drums. The band originally split following John's death aged 32 in 1980 after choking on his own vomit following an alcohol binge.

The three surviving members - John Paul Jones, Robert Plant and Jimmy Page - briefly reunited at the Live Aid concert in Philadelphia in 1985 and at Atlantic Records' 40th birthday celebrations in 1988.

The recent rumors have seemed to be more substantial than most, but I'm reluctant to believe this without an official announcement.

If it really is true, and there really is an official announcement on the way, then I'm going to mess up every pair of underpants I try to wear that day.

I suggest either going commando in a pair of pants you don't mind throwing away, or invest in some "Depends", because I'm almost certain it's going to go down as advertised.

They reformed for a tour back in 98 or 99. I saw them. It was great :)

They still sounded great. Plant's leg kicks weren't as high as they used to be, and he actually went to the side of the stage and sat down during some of Page's longer solos. Still a very fun show...

At one point, Page also teased Stairway to Heaven. It was pretty cruel...

Wow, they totally omitted that from the article. It must have ROCKED Sky!

Well, I guess I wasn't clear. Jones wasn't part of the tour I saw. It was Page and Plant with two other guys they hired for the tour playing a Zeppelin show.

I've been trying to find a setlist, but it's like that tour has vanished from the face of the earth. I finally tracked down the date (it was in 98), but haven't been able to find the setlist yet.

Bad news. They were going to reform until Plant, in Cincinnati on a family vacation, fell ill. By chance he was treated by Bengals team doctors, who fused three vertebrae, put a cadaver's ACL in his left knee, did Tommy John surgery on an elbow, and bled him with leeches for six days. They announced they were absolutely sure they'd cured Plant's bronchitis, and that he'd be ready to tour by fall of '09.
