redsrule2500
Of course we are all worried about the defense, but anyone worried about the offense after these first two preseason games?Just wondering your thoughts.
bengalboomer7
Big Time! Just look at the guys that are out, Irons, Perry, henry, Willie, Levi, Braham and Steiny are gone. It's gonna be tough this year every game
TJJackson
well, I'm the mouth-breathing idiot who worried about our running game more than our defense, so yeah, I remain worried about the offense.Moreso with the news re: Big Willie
kenyon1977
I'm not too worried yet, but if Palmer gets hurt because of a lack of blocking up front the team is screwed. I know he's going to get sacked during the season and what have ya but damn Doug Johnson blows and I'm not impressed with any number three WR yet. Watson is a stop gap at back RB but it would sure be nice to see a two back system running.
ArmyBengal
With the injuries along the line, this could be an even longer year in watching whatever down and short get stuffed. That being said, Rudi looks to have a long year of taking hits up the middle. The line is what concerns me most about the offense, but the defense is still my biggest concern overall !!!WHODEY !!! derekshank
I just have a hard time believing that Carson Palmer is going to take a step backward from last year. He came off an injury last year and was still a pro-bowl QB. He's now had what, 4 or 5 drives that we're basing our concern on? I don't care at all about the 0-2 record... and yes, it would be nice to see Palmer click - but lets not forget that he didn't play a single snap in the first to pre-season games last year. The running game won't be in any worse shape than it was last year, Carson will be better. The defense still stinks - but the offense will be one of the best in the NFL. No... I'm not concerned about the offense.
UK Bengal
not worried in the slightest its pre season where you are meant to work out the kinks come the reg season and we are 1-4 then i will be worrying

cincy9275
my question is if the dancing bear is so good why is he not start at r/t over koos. i mean they paided him a lot of money and he was suspose to be willie replace when willie was talking about a new contract. i know you will say well he is playing gaurd but if he is better than koos who gave up that sack on palmer last night and koos is susposed to be able to play any where on the line why is stacy not being groomed to replace willie. because if willies foot don't heal from what willie said he maybe lost for the season. As great as Palmer is, he's only as good as the other ten guys around him, and the other ten guys around him have taken a step back in my opinionThe O-Line will be just as good as last year... probably better. Sure, having Willie in a boot is a concern... but it seems like he and Levi will both be fine, and Ghiaciuc has a year under his belt. As for not having Henry... he missed several games last year too, and there was no Perry, Chatman, Brazell, etc... The offense is the same or better than last year... and Palmer isn't injured. Sorry fellas... I just can't muster up any real concern based on 3 practice drives 23 days before the opener. Don't forget that we're talking about a preseason game without Willie Anderson, Levi Jones, Reggie Kelly, and Jeremi Johnson. 3 of those 4 probably would have started if it was a regular season game, and Willie is still possible to be ready by the opener... if not then, at least early in the season. Call me a homer if you must, but the preseason doesn't count, so I don't give a damn.

Stripes
I [don't hope for] expect a top six offense, and a running game at least above the league mean. I am not worried about the offense at all.

Call me a homer if you must, but the preseason doesn't count, so I don't give a damn. How can our offensive line be better with three starters(Willie, Levi, Steiny) not playing. Willie is pretty doubtful for Sept 10 and Levi had to get outta town to start getting better. He has no backfield speed in Perry and Irons. His third reciever that catches a TD once every 4.4 catches is gone for 8 games. His starting fullback is nowhere to be found. His second tight end has never played in a regular season NFL game. I'm not trying to be a downer, this is just how I see it, I guess
Stripes
I don't view the offensive line as a huge issue simply because all the backups we'll be forced to use early got so much playing time last season. Ghiaciuc, Whitworth, Andrews, and/or Kooistra won't have to spend their first three or four games together getting in sync. They've already done that, and it showed late last season outside the Colts game.Obviously I'd rather have Willie and Levi on the field just like anyone else, and they both ought to be back well before the bye week. skyline
Did nobody else notice that the running game looked VERY solid in the 1st quarter? Rudi looked surprisingly quick and agile to me, and the blocking was fairly good. Sure, at the end of the game the #s looked as if the running game hadn't been effective, but it was productive early on which is all that matters. As for the passing game...the Palmer-Perry connection will be fixed. No worries on that end. Palmer had at least 3 incompletions to Perry alone, right? The sack/fumble is disturbing, but it was a pretty large problem last year as well. Nothing new, and we don't quite have enough evidence at this point to declare it officially worse than it has been in the past. Now, if Andrews or Whitworth go down, in addition to Anderson being hurt, then it's time to be concerned. At the present, though, I won't be losing any sleep about our offense. ShulaSteakhouse
Concerned about the o-line holding up the entire season - Andrews and Guy-chick still have their shortcomings, along with Kooistra. They need Willie and Levi most if not all of the year if they want to get to the playoffs IMO. HoosierCat
Some good news on Willie from Hobson:Right tackle Willie Anderson, sans protective boot, said Monday that is an indicator that his injured foot is progressing and he remains confident he'll be ready for the opener. HairOnFire
well, I'm the mouth-breathing idiot who worried about our running game more than our defense, so yeah, I remain worried about the offense. Uhhh, you forgot slack-jawed. (Slack-jawed mouth-breathing idiot.) As for being worried, the offense looks exactly like it did too often last season. In fact, there must have been three or four examples where the starters gained long yardage on 1st down but due to mental errors or blown plays didn't convert. Does this mean that those of us who have repeatedly refused to panic have now lost our best opportunity to do so? And Steakhouse, I thought Ghiacuic looked pretty darn good out there.
