El Tigere
So Asante wants to be traded? Man i would cream my pants if we could trade for asante! What are the chances we could trade Deltha or Justin smith for him?

BengalPappaw
I believe the article said that Asante wanted BIG money -- Mikee doesn't understand BIG money for a CB.So, I'd say that "slim to none" is optimistic.

GregCook
Somebody once said they drive over mountains to personally strangle Mike Brown if he drafted a WR in round 1. I will personally fly from California and stage a lonely protest march in front of his house if he trades for this guy with a first round pick. With the draft 3 weeks away and maybe 3 prime, choice cut CB's on the board at 18, all hugely cheaper, why would the Bengals be so dumb to go after Asante? mjm47
Per New Era Scouting (www.newerascouting.com)...Posted on Apr 05, 2007 by Matt Miller- With cornerback Asante Samuel now wanting out of New England, the team is likely to move him for a first-round pick plus a player or picks. This could potentially give the team three first round picks in the upcoming draft. - Teams interested in acquiring Samuel are the Bengals, Redskins and possibly the Titans. Any trade would have to involve dropping the tag off of Justin I imagine as Samuel will surely want a big chunk of change - could also spell the end of Deltha.I don't think too much of this - if we can sit tight and get a corner like Revis who also returns punts, has no track record of bitching about his contract and will probably come for pennies on the dollar, is it worth it for a guy with a shorter learning curve? I'm not sure.
Whur CHad At?
Well we do have one of the worst pass defenses so our best shot is to keep the same crap we have so we can continuie to hope we do better. Besides, Mikey is gonna give Jsmith, who everyone thinks is God's gift to mankind, a huge contract. He would rather give JSmith that than any good player. Besides Samuel would help this defense so there is no need for him here
JoePong
The nerve of Mike Brown wanting to pay our best defensive player and not wanting to give up our entire draft for Asante Samuel.Obama supporters aren't exactly the sharpest knives in the drawer. WhoDeyForever
Asante is good, but we won't trade for him..I'd love to have him though..I kinda gave up on getting big name players a while ago
AMC
After you trade for him you have to sign him.....Sooooooo, you know what that means......No Asante....

bengal4life
According to NFL Live there aren't any teams talking to the Patriots, at this time, about a possible trade.

Whur CHad At?
Kind of funny how losers overrated losers like Chris Houston

Wraith
Beef with Houston? to quote The PFW Draft bible. "Fool me once shame on you, Fool me twice shame on me. Teams that have not learned their lesson from the Packers mistake with Ahmed Carroll shall be destined to repeat it. Houston might be more refined than Carroll but is very simiar, he will struggle to be anything more than a #3 CB in the pros."Give me Revis, McCauley, Nelson, Griffin, and Ross all before Houston. Stripes
Tye Hill is also similar to Houston. I'd rather have Revis or Ross too, but I don't really take much from the Carroll/Houston comparisons.

TJJackson
The price is to high, imho. He's a good solid player asking for superstar type money. He'd help, but he is no superstar.Overpay for superstars, not solid starters.
ArmyBengal
The Redskins are in the mix for his services, so you know the price is going to go through the roof regardless of what he could or couldn't do for our defense. Next...WHODEY !!!

NJ29
I would love to have Samuel, just don't see it happening, but it'd be nice to unload Smith in the process, which would free us up to take another pass rusher, possibly Jarvis Moss.
