WhiteDawg Posted March 1, 2007 Report Posted March 1, 2007 Would you mind seeing Joey Porter in the orange and black? Quote
WhiteDawg Posted March 1, 2007 Author Report Posted March 1, 2007 Was released by the Steelers today. Couldn't hurt our defense. Quote
NJ29 Posted March 1, 2007 Report Posted March 1, 2007 Not important. He's Joey Porter, remember? Quote
Whur CHad At? Posted March 1, 2007 Report Posted March 1, 2007 I hate to say it but i could see this happening Quote
WhiteDawg Posted March 1, 2007 Author Report Posted March 1, 2007 I mean I hate the guy as much as the next person, but he would bring some attitude to this defense. Plus with all this talk about Randy Moss to Green Bay, this doesn't seem half as bad. Hell I might even buy a Porter jersey if he became a Bengal. You all know you would love him if he became a Bengal. Quote
BigBenBlows Posted March 1, 2007 Report Posted March 1, 2007 I actually threw up a little in my mouth when I thought of that jackass horse mouth in orange and black. Quote
WhoDeyForever Posted March 1, 2007 Report Posted March 1, 2007 Heck no I don't want him. After what he has said about Cincinnati and how overrated he is I would not want him. Quote
WhiteDawg Posted March 1, 2007 Author Report Posted March 1, 2007 This coming from someone who wants the Bengals to draft Ted Ginn Jr. at 18? Quote

BengalByTheBay Posted March 1, 2007 Report Posted March 1, 2007 Don't want him and he doesn't fit our 4-3. He disappears through the large part of most games -- ask the Squeeler fans, they don't seem all that upset to see him go. Quote
Whur CHad At? Posted March 1, 2007 Report Posted March 1, 2007 Dont be suprised though if it does happen Quote
BengalByTheBay Posted March 1, 2007 Report Posted March 1, 2007 Dont be suprised though if it does happenI would be surprised -- and not in a happy kinda way. I'd rather have a cheaper Arrington -- don't they pretty much do the same thing? I don't see Porter being a productive run stopping OLB in a 4-3. Quote
WhiteDawg Posted March 1, 2007 Author Report Posted March 1, 2007 Arrington averages about 1.456 games a year. All I'm saying is that our linebacker situation took some serious blows. Quote
Stripes Posted March 1, 2007 Report Posted March 1, 2007 I don't really care whether Porter is a former Steeler or not, but I do care that he's average or worse against the run and in pass coverage. Quote
DC_Bengals_Fan Posted March 1, 2007 Report Posted March 1, 2007 Better question - how many damn Porter threads do we need? Quote
WhoDeyForever Posted March 1, 2007 Report Posted March 1, 2007 Better question - how many damn Porter threads do we need?I only see one. Quote
Stripes Posted March 1, 2007 Report Posted March 1, 2007 Better question - how many damn Porter threads do we need?I only see one. There were two more in the NFL forum... merged 'em. This one is in intended to be a "should the Bengals pursue Porter?" thread, and hence it stays put. Quote

He disappears through the large part of most games -- ask the Squeeler fans, they don't seem all that upset to see him go.You can't listen to Steeler fans on judging anybody, they are fairweather as hell. You could cut anybody on the Steelers roster right now and they will come up with some reason why it was a good move by the Steelers and why they should have been cut. I agree he's not worth the six million dollars that he wants but he is still serviceable. I don't want him on the Bengals unless he comes at a cheap price and that's not happening. Quote

Buyer beware on all these guys but since when is a Steeler cast off good enough to be a Bengal? Quote
bengalboomer7 Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 NO and No. As someone already said, he doesnt fit the defense at all and Joey Porter has only one decent quality, and it's running straight at the QB. We need a more athletic well rounded defender Quote
BengalszoneBilly Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 Was released by the Steelers today. Couldn't hurt our defense. And think how hard he'd play to show up the Steelers when the teams went head to head! Quote

derekshank Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 No, No, a thousand times No!I would hate every second of Porter being on the team. He's an idiot, he's a Steeler, and he's quite possibly the most overrated defender in the NFL. He cna hit the QB really hard and make highlights. Whooptifriggindo. We need a complete LB, not a one-trick pony. Quote
