ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports league and Dallas Cowboys sources have said San Diego Chargers defensive coordinator Wade Phillips will be named the Cowboys' new head coach. Phillips traveled to Dallas during the evening Wednesday, Feb. 7, after learning he was the team's choice. Contract details and signing a contract still need to be finalized but Phillips could be officially introduced as early as Thursday, Feb. 8

"Tubby" Wade is certainly not the splash that Cowboys fans were hoping for this offseason, but the fact o the matter is that Bill Parcells has built a team in Dallas that might win in spite of Wade Phillips. All the pieces are in place ... Quarterback, power running game, defensive personnel to run a 3-4. And Wade is a 3-4 Defensive Genius. Everywhere he goes, he creates top 5 defensive units... not top ten - top 5. Buffalo, Atlanta, San Diego ... Defense wins championships.

You're probably right but it can't be as bad as when Barry Switzer took over for Jimmy Johnson. It didn't take long for Barry and Jerry to screw that up. I still can't figure out how they won that Super Bowl.
