HairOnFire
I just caught Jay Mariotti on ESPN's Cold Pizza claim that things are so out of control in Cincinnati that NFL Grand Poobah Roger Godell (sp?) may have to step in and remove Marvin Lewis as the Bengals Head Coach. That's some rare stupidity right there. In an earlier segment Skip Bayless compared the current Bengal crime wave to the Cowboy/Crimeboy teams of several years ago, and get this....found absolutely nothing to "get bent" about. Bayless admitted that the NUMBER of bengal related arrests was attention getting, but noted that almost none of the arrests were serious examples of criminal behavior. In short, nothing to cause alarm or much concern.

Kirkendall
I'm with Skip on this one.
fattyjay
Due to the nature of the majority of the arrests, I would have to agree with Bayless. Most of the busts have been related to substance abuse, not violent crimes. I wonder if the Bengals have given any thought to creating a hotline for designated drivers. When I was in the Navy, either the squadron or the base ( can't remember which) had a hotline for us to call if we were out partying too hard and didn't have a ride home. Sounds cheesy, I know, but it might at least cut down on the DUI's.
Stripes
Go Skip, go. Mariotti is an idiot.
membengal
Wow, Mariotti is taking shots at the Bengals? How ever will I go on with my life now that the Bengals don't have Jay Mariotti's respect? I am guessing writing about and following the Bears (as Mariotti does) is easier, as they don't have all those stupid misdemeanors clogging the arteries of their team.** I guess Mariotti is more bothered by JJ's pot than Tank Johnson's, um, private stash of guns sizable enough to wage war on a small country. Figures.

There's also Frostee the Rapist, though none of his alleged crimes occurred after signing.

I took 11 guns and 2,000 rounds of ammunition to the gun range just this last weekend.

Have you been hanging around people who tend to shoot each other lately?
HairOnFire
* I guess Mariotti is more bothered by JJ's pot than Tank Johnson's, um, private stash of guns sizable enough to wage war on a small country. Figures. To be fair, Mariotti had a spectacular hissy fit the previous day over the judges decision to allow Tank to travel out of state and the Bears subsequent decision to allow him to start in the Super Bowl. It seems he's more than willing to go mental every chance he gets. Which reminds me of Paul Daugherty's remark... "Is it worth getting bent over? Only if you like getting bent." Lovie's getting a raise and Tank gets to play in the Super Bowl.
Ox
Can you imagine the riots in the 'Nati if Marvin ws forceably removed from his job by the NFL? The Black Jesus does not stand for that nonsense.

The Black Jesus does not stand for that nonsense. Mariotti's opinion may have been outrageously stupid, but there is no shortage of people happily and needlessly getting their panties in bunch over something that is for the most part little more than an image problem.
