What bulls**t! He works his ass off, and she takes the cash! If I was a football player, I'd NEVER get married. With all the free "milk" they get offered, why buy the stinkin' cow! From Yahoo...

Judge orders Giants star to pay $15 million to ex-wife

January 13, 2007

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) -- New York Giants star Michael Strahan was ordered to pay his ex-wife $15.3 million -- more than half his net worth -- in keeping with the couple's prenuptial agreement.

Under the agreement, Jean Strahan was entitled to 50 percent of their joint marital assets and 20 percent of his yearly income from each year they were married.

Strahan claimed that he wasn't responsible for the 20 percent because his wife failed to ask for it every year.

But state Superior Court Judge James Convery disagreed, saying in his ruling that "the plaintiff is not credible in his claim that the defendant never asked for her separate funds."

In addition to the $15.3 million, Convery awarded Jean Strahan hundreds of thousands of dollars in child support

Jean Strahan, who married the football player in 1999, said she was happy with the ruling.

"It pays to tell the truth, and I told the truth," she said in Saturday's New York Post. "I never asked for a penny more than the prenup that Michael and his lawyers wrote and made me sign. And all I ever asked for was that to be upheld."

A call to Michael Strahan's attorney, Robert Penza, and his agent, Tony Agnone, were not immediately returned Saturday.

A call to Jean Strahan's attorney, Ellen Marshall, was also not immediately returned.

I like this quote from her:

"It pays to tell the truth, and I told the truth," she said in Saturday's New York Post.
Oh really? It sounds more like it pays to f**k a football player, sucker him into marriage, and get rich later by divorce! <_<

What bulls**t!

Not at all. May I direct your attention to the first sentence of the article (emphasis added):

New York Giants star Michael Strahan was ordered to pay his ex-wife $15.3 million -- more than half his net worth -- in keeping with the couple's prenuptial agreement.

This is 110% Strahan's fault for signing such a completely moronic prenup. I thought PFT put it best:

It's unbelievable. But not surprising, given that the Court merely ordered Strahan to honor the prenuptial agreement that promised his wife 50 percent of the marital estate and 20 percent of his annual earnings, each year and every year.

Strahan's argument was that he wasn't responsible for the 20 percent because his wife didn't ask for it every year.

(It's now official. Strahan is both ugly AND stoopid.)

Yup.

According to Cowherd yesterday, child support is going to be somewhere in the range of $18k/month???

That # seems extremely inflated to me, but they stuck to it.

Either way, I feel no sympathy for Strahan on this one. Like Hoosier said, he was dumb enough to sign the thing in the first place. Not only did he sign it, but it was his lawyer that actually WROTE the thing!

Secondly, he went out and cheated on his wife. What did he EXPECT to happen?

People these days.

Well damn! :o His wife must have been slipping the lawyer some special "favors" under the table (or under the covers), because that's absurd.
