Spain
Ok we went 8-8, so we all must decide what playa we will hate on this offseason. Im going for Rudi, the guys overrated. Trade him some sucker will bite. (they wont) I think we need a back that can wear people down, We need a bus. If its drafting a guy then do it. Stripes
If you're looking for a wear 'em down back, I'm not sure why you'd have any issue with Rudi. All he's done is come up with three straight 1300+ yard seasons (and the most recent despite offensive line problems) and twelve touchdowns each time. We won't do much better than that.If I'm to pick a player to hate this offseason, I'll go with Bryan Robinson. I think he's our weakest starter on either side of the football, with Tory James falling into that discussion very rapidly.
schweinhart
At this point I don't like a GD one of them. A monumental choke job from top to bottom not to get to the tournament.

Rudi IS a back who wears people down, look what he does in the 4th whenever he gets the ball 20 times a game.Rudi's a guy who runs in the A gap a lot, and he played behind a young center. As a result, he didn't have the YPC numbers he did in 2005. Not his fault.
Italian fan
This year Deltha was the most underachiving player. He didn't show any effort on the field and his numbers dropped drastically
redsbengalsbucks
Bluto: He is a backup center at best and can not be allowed to be the starter next season.A FA starting caliber center is my hope for this offseason.I think Deltha will be fine lining up opposite Joseph next season when he is healthy again. Tory should be let go or resigned at a much smaller salary to be a backup/nickel type CB.
HoosierCat
Hmmm...well, spains question was who were you going to hate this offseason, presumably in the sense of, "who are you going to hate on"?I don't think you can properly "hate on" guys like Bluto or James or Robinson. It seems to me that the whole idea of "hating on" a player presupposes that you are dissing someone widely considered to be a good player, or at least a servicable one.O'Neal I would say is borderline -- you could just barely hate on him, I think. Chris Perry's another borderline case since he's been hurt so much its hard to tell if he's really that good, but WTF, everybody loves to hate on him so let's include him.Certainly Justin, Rudi and Levi are all guys that qualify, and in fact do get hated on fairly often. I've hated on Rudi a bit recently myself. K2 has been hated on for years and years. Chad's been getting his share lately, too. Even Carson's gotten some hate.Me, I think my top guys to hate on this offseason will be:1. David Pollack2. Willie Anderson3. Rudi Johnson

walzav29
We need a lightning fast James Brooks type. The kind of guy that Perry was supposed to be. I say in the 2nd round draft a Maurice Jones Drew type. Rudi is a grinder, but he benefits from Palmer like Addai and James benefit from Manning. Too bad the Bengals won't be able to get anything for the damaged goods of Crystal Perry. It would be nice if they could at least get a 3rd rounder. CPalmer9
rudi johnson is highly overatted...sure he got 1300 yards but never once did he take over a game, never once did he cut back and make something happen...how frustrating is it to se him run right into the back of one of his lineman and for all this hype saying that he breaks tackles , that is completly false....he is in no way a top running back, he is slightly above average...we definatly need someone like chris perry in the backfeild

With an injuried offensive line.I say that 4th in yards in the AFC and a would be place of 4th in the NFC (hypothetically) counts Rudi as in the top 4 from either league. Overall, he is top 7. There is only one word in English that can be said for people hating on Rudi Johnson:Duh. 1 LaDainian Tomlinson SD 1815 348 5.2 28 85 2 Larry Johnson KC 1789 416 4.3 17 47 3 Frank Gore SF 1695 312 5.4 8 72 4 Tiki Barber NYG 1662 327 5.1 5 55 5 Steven Jackson STL 1528 346 4.4 13 59 6 Willie Parker PIT 1494 337 4.4 13 76 7 Rudi Johnson CIN 1309 341 3.8 12 22 8 Brian Westbrook PHI 1217 240 5.1 7 71 i do have some players to hate on though... 1. Madieu Williams - if he is the next pro bowler, ala Ed Reed, why do we suck in past defense? i think the he is over-hyped.2. Shayne Graham - how the !!!! do you miss that FG against Pittsburgh?3. Keiwan Ratliff - just need someone who can do more on defense and special teams.... and I really pulled for him when he was drafted.4. anyone who got injured significantly lol ;-)
HairOnFire
If you're going to hate...go big or stay home. So let's all continue hating on Chad, Carson, Rudi, Big Willie, Deltha, Tory, and Opie. In other words, nobody can make the hate list unless they make the Pro Bowl first. And best, when you think about it.....most of us are already doing just that. Just read the message board and search for your favorite whipping boy/star. As for the Love List? Let's start with Kevin Walter, Jon Kitna, and every free agent from another team who didn't sign with the Bengals. Finally, I think we need to recognize the players who belong on both lists. So I'm nominating Chris Perry, a player who is still deeply loved for being capable of doing things he never actually does....and Justin Smith, a player who does all of the important things few fans care about, and none of the shiny & flashy things that are needed to awaken them from their slumber and stupor. HoosierCat
In other words, nobody can make the hate list unless they make the Pro Bowl first.Thats a pretty good criteria. I think Ill keep on hating on Pollck, tho, since he's already made the Pro Bowl in so many people's minds. As for the Love List? Let's start with Kevin Walter, Jon Kitna, and every free agent from another team who didn't sign with the Bengals.Mine starts with up-and-coming Arena League superstar Peter Warrick! Madieu Williams - if he is the next pro bowler, ala Ed Reed, why do we suck in past defense? i think the he is over-hyped.CHucks lame defenses? there were few games madieu looked avg but overall I thought he was fine on the season.2. Shayne Graham - how the !!!! do you miss that FG against Pittsburgh?and brad st lious fudged up too ug....they don't do it till vs importent game vs the steelersPS,I won't hate on rudi but we do need a lightning back to his thunder...he's one of the RB's with lowest 20+ yard runs and when he does run 20+ it's only 22 yards. ShulaSteakhouse
Once again the fact that the o-line here is not that good is totally over-looked and people think Rb's can make holes for themselves. But as we all know this team has the greatest players ever, they're all worth keeping including Justin Smith, and yet the coaches aren't responsible for underachieving either.Apparently, it's just something in the water that makes this team bad. That or it's all, um, Odell's fault? GregCook
I'll confine my hate to just what I saw last season.Defensive secondary missing loads of tackles. That would be Tory, Madieu, DelthaLinebackers missing tackles. That would be all of them.Other team tight ends and backs owning the line of scrimmage +10 years.Palmer missing TJ wide open in Denver for a td.Shayne shanking.San Diego game, hence the entire Bengal team on that dayNow who do I love?Rudi, none tougher, none more suitable to our offense.Levi & WillieWhitworth and Peka, too lovable rookiesPalmer, a stud.Jumpy, he's worth the cha-ching.If you're going to hate...go big or stay home. Jet23
Put me down for Paul Alexander. Maybe if we devote the entire draft to the OL, they can at least be average. I don't want to hear about injuries, because at least two of their backups can start and be productive for other teams. Someone just needs to coach the lads. That's right HOF, I still don't get it. CBin2k7
What don't i like... in no particular order. Hate is such a strong wordI don't like waking up every day waiting for Chuck to be fired and seeing him still employed as the defensive coordinator.I don't like Marvin's coaching staff. I think there are some average to below average coaches on this staff.I didn't like how Steinbach played this year. I don't like Ratliff, he is not a good punt returner, he is not a good CB. He currently wouldn't even start for his alma mata.I am tired of watching Brian Simmons, it is time for him to go. I appreciate everything he has done, but he just doesn't have it anymore.Tory James...enough said.I am slowly starting to turn on Chad, I know he is a hard worker, but I think his act wears on some people inside the locker room.I want to see some hunger out of this team, like everyone is playing for a job. That will be the day this team makes it to the super bowl.
