MARVIN=W'S
I'm not saying that I would like this but it is an interesting what if. What if Marvin guides us to another sub par 8-8 season and MB fires him after next season. Word is Cowher will return to coaching after one year off. I would have to think this would be a job Cowher would be interested in. He knows the division and he knows our team (maybe not a plus). I do know it would be nice to see someone actually show some fire on our sideline, maybe it would rub off on our players. I think I would enjoy seeing the Bengals bully people and play nasty physical football. Our D has played with no passion and no heart for years, I thought ML would change that but it doesn't look good. Would you like to see the Chin on the home sideline in PBS? schweinhart
Maybe the Bengals should trade Marv ala Gruden for a couple of 1st round picks while there's still a market for him.
Storm
Marvin leading the Bengals to four 8-8 seasons wouldn't put him on the hot seat it would give him a lifetime contract and a statue of himself at the entrance to PBS

No one wants Bill Cowher on this sideline. That is sacreligious.
membengal
Beyond laughable. Some people on here would do fine at an open mic night. I can't begin to categorize all the reasons that would never happen. Seriously, step away from the PCP...
Dan2330
No way Mike Brown is going to pay Cowhead the $4 million plus price tag he is going to be seeking. He left the Steelers for being cheap a$$es, do you really think he is going to come to a team whose owner is known as Mr. Cheap?

Thats what this is all about ...no burnout..just $$$$$The Redskins will go after him if Gibbs hangs it up next year which I think he might.Tbe Giants are a major market that may be looking for a coach before too long as well. Scottishbengal
What if Marvin guides us to another sub par 8-8 season and MB fires him after next season. One thing Mikey boy is unlikely to do is fire him - if anything Mike Brown is overly loyal to the coaching staff!

bengalboomer7
Over my dead body. I could never want Cowher, he was too much of a Bengal killer. Plus, hell will freeze over before Mikey gives him the 10+ mill he's looking for
Larry
I would give up football if I had to look down and see Cowher on the bengals sideline.... What a hell of a thing to even bring up.... Who dey...We day..... I hate that guy!

duus
I would give up football if I had to look down and see Cowher on the bengals sideline.... What a hell of a thing to even bring up.... Who dey...We day..... I hate that guy!My wife asked me the same question ... "what if Cowher became coach of the Bengals." Call me a weak fan, or whatever you want ... I would move on. Has the guy won? No doubt. But he has choked in all but one playoff run, mostly having a superior team in each of those years. Always seemed to get outcoached. It wasn't until he went against the 'Cowher way' in the '05 playoffs did he actually win. Fluke. And besides, he is just plain ugly, and simply not the guy I want to see on the sidelines for my team. I'll take the path Marvin is paving, even if it takes a few more years. Forget Cowher. Let him go somewhere else and beat up on the Black N Urine every year. That would be just fine by me. Stripes
Well if we can't land Cowher in '08, I know just the guy we should pursue...Marvin Lewis.
MacD BengalFan
He will end up coaching the Panthers because they will fire John Fox if they have another bad season like this past. Plus Charlotte is closer to Raleigh then any other NFL team. He left the Steelers to be closer to his family and that is where I believe he will end up in '08. ArmyBengal
So if he becomes the Bengals coach in 2008 and we have to wait as long as the Steelers did to win one under him, that means we will win the Super Bowl in 2023 !!! How about NO... We should have a couple under Marvin by that time if we can fix the defense and take out the trash !!!WHODEY !!!

SteelerFan87
Not going to happen. Cowher is from Pittsburgh. He's not going to coach a Steelers division rival.BTW, I don't think he was looking for $8 million, probably more like something around $7million. The Steelers last offer was a contract that would pay him up to $6.5 million, but that wasn't going to be until the last couple years of the contract. I don't think it's the money as much as the principle of it. He didn't like the fact that the guy he beat in the SB gets payed so much more than him. BengalszoneBilly
NO WAY...unless he is our D coordinator...C'mon...he's not going to lower himself (a.k.a. take a pay cut) to be a Defensive Coordinator for ANYONE!
schweinhart
Gotta wonder if Rooney have inquired about Marvin and if so what Mikey has done about it. The Steelers gig comes up once in a blue moon and Marvin being from Pittsburgh and all probably is more than interested.
