Tasher
Yeah! What's up with all the apendectomies this year? 3 just on the Bengals alone...
BengalPimp
Yeah, I saw that...well, if a starter at any O-line position goes down, I'd rather it be a Guard. They are not as Critical as the Center(who commands the line), or the Tackles who are responsible for keeping DE's and LB's away from the QB, and protecting his "Blind-Side". I'm glad they're using Stacey at guard instead of Tackle thats for sure. He should do OK, since he really wont have to worry any "speed-rushers" like if he were playing Tackle. If nothing else, RUDI should run all day to the Right-Side, having 2 O-lineman who weigh over 340lbs each (Anderson/Andrews).....Run to the Right Rudi....to the Right.... BengalPimp
Bobby is 343 and shorter so was even more bulk so it's not like rudi running between 680 lbs of love is something new.Not really, Bobby is listed at 6'4" 343 or so...Andrews is 6'7" listed at 342 to start the season, now is "reportedly" 360lbs, which actually means more like 370-ish, my point is they are not losing anything in run-blocking because of his size alone, he will move the DT's back. and because they're playing him at guard and not Tackle, we dont have to worry too much about him being "slow"....and with him and Willie....its now over 700lbs.... Tasher
Here's hoping that they just "road grade" and run the ball. "O-Line, straight ahead... on 2, ready, break!"
ShulaSteakhouse
He'll probably be an upgrade to Williams.
Ox
now now Shula Bobby has played decent this year. I just hate the fact the line has been intact for like 3 games now, and then here we go again....
schweinhart
Yeah of all the original O-line Big Bobbie should be the least missed. The Saints don't have the firepower to bullrush Stacy the Giant back into the pocket but he is going to have to watch out for Charles Grant on stunts. Shouldn't be too big an issue, though, and LB blitz wise, the Saints really don't have the guns to cause much disruption either. So much for continuity on the O-line but this is one game where it shouldn't matter so much.
derekshank
Bobbie Williams individual play is not the issue. The issue is that this O-Line was finally starting to gel a little bit after week after week of position swapping (sounds kinky, I know). Anyway, we were playing with 40% of our O-Line getting unexpected playing time... and it took them several weeks to start playing together as a unit. Now we're making it 60% adding an unexperienced project, who regardless of how big and strong he is, his major downfall to this point has been playing as part of a unit rather than as an individual.Hopefully it won't bite us in the ass, but I'm not so confident. We're going against a team who, although don't have an overpowering pass-rush, most of it comes right down the middle, where Ghiaciuc, Steiny, and Bobbie have struggled so much... and I imagine the trend will continue with Andrews in that spot. It just seems like the odds are against us (which probably means we'll win).
Whur CHad At?
Perhaps it was that 42 point second half smacking that was too much to bear for Bobby that made his appendix burst
bengalskyspy
My prediction is that Williams will not see the starting position for the rest of the year, as Andrews shows why they drafted him. One of them may move to LG next year, with Steiny gone or at center.

He's good depth because he's so big and strong that he's likely to not be a major liability when we need to insert him in the lineup... but I don't see him taking a healthy Williams job. I've just embraced the fact that Brat is gonna throw more than run(always, it seems like)I don't think you'll notice Bobbie being gone once the game starts either
ShulaSteakhouse
Guy-chick, Andrews and Whitworth all playing together on the line is kind of scary though. Whitworth has done a nice job that said - but their inexperience combined is a concern.I hope Carson makes it through the game okay.
rishipatel
It is a bit disappointing to have another change on the line just when the offense was starting to produce. But I have faith in Stacy. They have talked about his athletic ability ever since he was drafted; now we get to see him use it. Looking forward to a good game. They're paying Williams way too much to sit him. Being positive is one thing, but to think Big Stacy takes Bobbie Williams' job is just crazy. I am being positive about 1 thing, I am hoping Stacy will prove to be a reliable "back-up" to different OL positions. He's not a full-time starter....not yet, but the best thing that he could do, is prove that he can be relied upon if the team ever "needs" him. That said, he'll do pretty well filling in at Guard.
