BengalszoneBilly
Sure, the Bengals lost a tough game today in Baltimore against one of the toughest defenses in the league. But don't forget that the Ravens have some very tough games coming up against Atlanta, the Chiefs in Kansas City, our Bengals...this time in the Jungle, and the Steelers TWICE! They could easily go 1-4 in those games alone, so I just don't feel that .500 is out of contention for the playoffs. Not yet. (Yes...I realize we have a tough schedule ahead. I hope this loss pisses off the rest of the team as much as it pissed off T.J.!)

Whur CHad At?
I am sick of people saying, "Oh the season isn't lost yet!" People look at our schedule. Look at how our team is playing. We are 4-4 and going into a tough strectch. And with all the good teams in the AFC right now..we are pretty much out of a wild card shot...unless we get really lucky. ShulaSteakhouse
Bengals' pretty much have to go at least 6-2 (or 7-1) if they want a playoff spot, or get some help from Baltimore. That's a tall order.

BengalszoneBilly
1st i hope the hell you are not implying that i have any support for the f**king stoolersCertainly NOT! All I was saying is that late last season the Steeler fans that frequented here had all but given up hope on anything close to a playoff berth. Not it seems we Bengal fans are already doing the same thing. I feel it's just to early to abandon all hope. There is half a season left to play, and alot can (and usually DOES) happen. The Bengals and the "real" fans dont need them.....they will be back when we win a few more games. I bet they already put up their Bengalshirts and hats that they just bought this year. So I say F**k them and good luck rooting for your new fly by night team.....

I'm pissed too, but I still have hope, and the Bengals indeed do still have a shot at the playoffs. Granted, not a great shot, but a shot non-the-less. Coaches? Fire em! Players? Cut 'em! Schemes? Change em! Out with the baby, the bathwater, the bathtub and the whole bloody house while we are at it!And we're only 4-4. rwjcgc
It's not time to throw in the towel, but you must admit that itgets old hearing that "we're fine" from Marvin when thereare some definite problems. The defense has some major issues (scheme and/or personnel) every week and wearen't seeing any improvement. The lack of acknowledgement is maddening.

Actually people, and I mean all the people who analyze on TV, have been saying all year long since the season started that this year's Bengals team just don't seem like the same guys from last year. No fire, no emotion, no physicality. Even the people that picked the Bengals to go to the Superbowl did so only on the premise that the offense carry the defense there. Problem is, the defense hasn't gotten any better and the offense has sputtered through injuries and such. The end of the world no? The beginning of a trip to the top 15 pick in the draft? Maybe. Ox
The problem here is the fact that now we're bordering on having to rely on other teams to do our work for us, instead of us doing the dirty work and beating teams, like, um, Baltimore. So I say F**k them and good luck rooting for your new fly by night team..... because i i have a opinion i am a fly bye night fan. just to clarify i have been pulling for this team since 88. i have been through all the loses over the years. all my mugs bobble heads jerseys t shirts and decals are all still in the same spot they always have been. so please don't ever question my loyalty to this team. i truly believe this team can make a run. but it just has to start playing better. right now we are playing like s**t and have dug ourselves a hell of a whole to get out of. 1-4 in the last 5 and i don't have a right to think things look a little dim? and you say f**k them or pretty much referring to me telling me to f**k off well back at ya. The lack of acknowledgement is maddening. Also applies to some posters here who live in a world of denial and have low standards. Although yes, If I'm Marvin, I do the ole cliche "the season starts over today, an 8 game season, and the goal is 8-0."Maybe playing every game with a sense of urgency will help, dunno. But it's painful to go through that home playoff loss last year, listening to Odell yell "we'll be back!" walking off the field, the humiliation against the Pats at home this year with Dillon running all over them then showing the city up in the end zone - it's tough to take if you're a Bengals' fan who's waited over 15 years to at least win a playoff game.I am done with accepting .500 seasons. This is Marvin's 4th year - time to pony up. I'm sick of underachieving teams and coming up short. It's not "ok" anymore.
WhiteDawg
The Bengals will never be considered a solid team until they prove they can beat good teams. Even last year they never really beat the good teams (other than the Steelers). This year who have we beat? Steelers (Blow) Carolina (decent not great) Cleveland (you're kidding right) Kansas City (not this year). Looking ahead the Bengals season is all but over. I see a win against the Ravens at home and Cleveland at Cleveland and Oakland, but that's really about it. You can not honestly look at the schedule and say we have a shot against the Chargers, Colts, Broncos, or Saints. So three more wins, perhaps 4 if they can beat the steelers. Face it...It's so over. But that's just my view. Just don't come on here and talk playoffs...Playoffs?...Playoffs...I just hope we can win another game.
