JaxonFord87
I expect the bengals to beat the ravens, and McNair will leave the game injured in some way or another (Nothing serious).

HairOnFire
Do Raven quarterbacks get extra credit for throwing TD passes that bounce off of multiple defenders before reaching the intended receiver? The reason I ask is because that seems to be the bread-and-butter play in the Ravens red zone offense.
BengalszoneBilly
Hey Arizona! I should have known you'd be here bright and early on Raven's week. I predict Carson Palmer will continue his winning ways against the Ravens this weekend, just as he's had for the past year and a half.BTW...would you care to make a friendly wager on this game, something along the lines of the loser changing their avatar for a week? Arizona
i'm imagining the possibilities. I'll start looking for something suitable for you.and yes, we've been getting the bounces. The important thing to take into account is that the Ravens have actually been getting into the red zone, not just punting every drive. HairOnFire
and yes, we've been getting the bounces. The important thing to take into account is that the Ravens have actually been getting into the red zone, not just punting every drive. If you're making the point that the Ravens 5-2 record is reflective of equal parts improvement as well as lucky bounces, well...you'll get no argument from me. Whenever I watch Baltimore play I've seen both. Frankly, the whole "You are what your record says you are" argument is hard to fight, but I still have a hard time getting past the idea that the Bengals are one horrible miscalled penalty against Tampa Bay from matching the Ravens 5-2 record, and it sure doesn't seem like the Bengals have gotten ANY bounces this season. All things considered I'm not very impresed by the Ravens record, and I don't think the Bengals fear the Ravens defense or offense. However, you can almost feel the Bengals getting their offensive timing back just as the teams overall level of frustration is reaching a boiling point. For a playoff team they're a shockingly immature team, and I think they're slowly being worn down by the grinding nature of the games they're playing, and the injuries that have piled up. That said, it is Raven week, and the very thing the Bengals need is the emotional charge they'll get knowing that they can regain control of the division just by winning this road game. Stripes
Tough game for sure. The Bengals and Carson in particular have had a lot of success against Baltimore in the last three outings, but that doesn't mean much to me going into this one. Both teams have changed since the last time they took the field together, and I expect a dogfight. This is the most important game so far for both teams, and I hope the Bengals view it as such. The offense and defense will have to play well in unison, which hasn't seemed to happen since the Browns game aside maybe from the second half of the Carolina game. I think we got MIGHTY good bounces against both the Steelers and against the Panthers. Those KK picks were definently a bounce in our direction. The muffed punt in the Pitt game was equally as lucky for us. Some things have gone against us (we should be 5-2) but if we really are worthy of the Playoffs we will show it. SkinneymulleT
The KK picks were not bounces. It was good play. Huge difference. The ravens have to be the luckiest team in the NFL this year. I mean Mc Nair just lobs the ball up half the time. I was watching one game and he threw a ball, I went to get a beer, came back and saw the reception. No joke. I saw on sports center how Notre Dame filed a missing persons report on thier leprecaun....the only reason we dont have a better record is penalties! HairOnFire
Uhhhh, you seriously think the gal in my avatar has the face of a man? Damn. Here's the deal. I won't post a better version of the photo because I figure it's borderline porn, but I also figured it would pass as an avatar due to the very small size and horribly poor resolution. You can't even tell what's what, right? But the original image is pretty sweet, and here's where to go if anyone really wants to look her over for razor stubble, man hands, or a freaking goiter. http://www.tommyedwards.com/glamour/glamour0002.jpg Btw, if any mod checks her out and finds her image acceptable then by all means please post her glorious picture. If not, I understand completely. But after using the avatar of the creepy guy in the Heatmiser wig for a few months I figured you guys could use a break. Thus, a naked gal wrapped in the American flag. You're welcome.

Scottishbengal
Mighty tough game, a lot of pressure, Cincys season hangs right here. Ravens haven't been playing pretty - that old bend don't break philosphy - but they're riding atop the AFCN right now. Bengals have been stuttering. IF Cincy lose, we're 2 games adrift and have a helluva lot of work to do to win the division outright - relying on Baltiwhore to implode. IF Cincy win the division is blown open - not wide open though as the Bengals will hold the upper hand with divisional matches and will so hold the advantage. A tough ask but not impossible. BengalByTheBay
This game reminds me of exactly how I felt before Pitt. It's a home game for the Rats and, IMO, that's where the pressure will lie. Otherwise, this looks like a match-up of good teams that each have fairly obvious flaws. While I think the whole "our offense against your d" is oversimplified, it would appear that generally some things never change. For all of the luck you have had on offense, your defense has played much better than last year. That said, I think you've got some serious offensive problems again that will, as always, kill you if you get behind early. The Bengals can come back from behind, but do not play particularly well with the lead, which is indicative of an overall weak defense. Make no mistake, however, the Bengals defense is better than you have seen in a while. If we can get our offense clicking a little better, we should score 28 points and win. If we score 14 or less this should be a loss. We'll see how the Rats handle being the leader in the division.
Stripes
I have a wierd feeling that this game will be for the Ravens a lot like the first Steelers game was for the Bengals last season. The Bengals were leading the division to everyone's surprise, and then the previous division winner went into their house and kicked the crap out of them. The Ravens should be contending for the long haul this season, but I have a strange confidence in the Bengals chances this Sunday. Arizona
I haven't seen any of your games, so I can't really make any predictions beyond this:there have been two ravens teams this season, the one that play offense and the one that can't. We've been terrible or great, nothing in between. Which team shows up determines the outcome. If we are good offense ravens, the bengals are toast. I know your offense can score on us, but imagine how tough that gets if our offense can match you for three of those touchdowns. While I personally believe that our offense dictates how well they do, I will go on record as saying that the game will go as your defense plays.Oh, and to you guys that are questioning whether I'd be back if we lost, I think I joined this forum long before you did. I'll be around.
HoosierCat
I have no feel for which way this game will go.For the Bengals, it's a must-win game. A loss here puts us 2 games behind Baltimore with just 8 to play, ties our division records at 2-1 and gives them control of the head-to-head tiebreaker. Combined with an easier sked, that should about sew up the division crown for Baltimore, barring a complete Ravens collapse. As a result, I think the Bengals will give it everything they've got -- and so will the Ravens. They are looking to deliver a knockout punch and we're looking to stay in the game.I just don't know...

I'll be around.I think this is a matter of perspective. You guys are happy with your offensive production for the most part because of what you are used to. Your offense usually stinks, so being able to score in the double digits regularly makes you giddy. The Bengals on the other hand out-produce you by leaps and bound on offense, and yet we complain about the offense not "clicking" yet this season. Of course the opposite is true for the Ravens vs. Bengals on defense.I, like you, also haven't seen a lot of Ravens games... but in the few snapshots I've seen, I have witnessed 3 TD's this year off of tipped passes (I can't think of a single play like that for the Bengals in the past 3 seasons... so 3 is a lot), and also 3 TD's off of INT's. That is nearly 40% of the Ravens TD's this season, so even when you are playing well... I'm not sure how impressive it really is.Your defense is lights out... but we have confidence against you, and that means a lot. We seem to play better on the road, the offense is playing better than a few weeks ago, and your offense is still 26th in the league. It may sound arrogant, since you have a better record and all... but I think we are a better team than you. We'll find out on Sunday though. It should be fun.
