bengalsrz
I know he's just a backup, but Rich Brahams about to retire, and we need a new center, not only can he not block, but he commits false start penaltes every game, I think we need a new center.*Can a mod edit the poll please, "Give Gauichic a little more time" is supposed to be an option. ShulaSteakhouse
He's junk. Not much you can do about the 0-line this year. Williams isn't much better. The defense needs some adjusting - and Dex and Jeanty back. Henry and Perry need to get healthy.I'd consider putting Steinbach at Center and Whitworth at LG, at this point.IF AJ comes around after the bye, substitute him for Miller or Brooks full-time. Not much you can do about the LB play either though. The bye week comes at a good time.Today was bad, it was too similar to the up and down and terrible team we saw at the end of last season. The defense upfront and 0-line are still glaring weakenesses.
Kazkal
Id give him some more time but hes not the only reason our oline has been sucking...

Dadraftnick
It seems that the whole Eric Ghiaciuc experiment is a nightmare.Do the math, with Ghiaciuc at C we have nearly given up as many sacks in a couple of games as we gave up all last year. While part of that is just someone new being in the OL,all I can say is watch the tape of him the last few weeks he is either blocking the wrong guy, which makes one of the other guys get overloaded, blocking air,or he is not blocking very well.Yes, the D looked bad today but, they are missing quite a few guys and one of the reasons that the D looked so bad is that they couldnt get off the field because,of the sack/fumbles=Ghiaciuc.They were getting worn out.We only have 3 DE's on the roster, which meant that Justin Smith and Bryan Robinson had to play pretty much the whole game,it would smart to bring up Eric Henderson if for no other reason than to give the other DE's a break. We need to either bring up C Ben Wilkerson (he couldnt do any worse),let Stienbeck play C and let G/T Andrew Whitworth play G,or give Stacy Andrews a shot at C (again he couldnt do much worse),one of the three because Ghiaciuc is not the man.Wilkerson was All-American which means that he was considered the best C in all of NCAA football, not an also ran at Central Michigan. It would have been nice to have had Odel out there today. CPalmer9
gauichic stinks...period but hes pretty much the only option unless stieny to center and whitworth to guard
schweinhart
No way Bluto gets thrown under the bus. He had his problems with Jarvis Green but so did Big Bobbie and Big Willie. Even then, the Bengals didn't allow a sack until the 4th Q. This total gutting can not be hung on the O-line.But the Bengals do need a new center to compete with Bluto. Buckethead will be one of my all-time Bengals favorites but it's just too much to ask the team to keep him when he gets injured as regularly as he does. I'd like to see a center drafted in the 4th who can also play LG and compete against both Bluto and Ben Wilkerson.

Pinkygen
More time. He's a new center, and it's a hard position to learn. Not all of the line's problem is his fault, and while the line was not good, it wasn't awful. They all need to work, not just Gauichic. ArmyBengal
Is there another option besides going with someone who has never gotten an NFL start or switching key players out of their natural position ?? If so, then go for it, but from the best of my knowledge, the organization seems to think Guycheck is the "center to be", so I don't think it's even a concern with noting...WHODEY !!! DontPushMe
I voted no because i thought the question was "Give Gauichic a little more time." So pretend theres 1 more on yes.Ive defended the guy for months, those days are over. We need a new center. Im convinced Wilkerson isnt the guy, but neither is Ghiacuic. Before the season started, TJ said something like, "Without Carson were in trouble, without Braham we're in BIG trouble". Im definitly starting to see why.
Stripes
Ghiaciuc hasn't been responsible for all of the woes on the offensive line... they've played like crap collectively. I'm up for giving Wilkerson a shot to, but I assume he hasn't seen the field for a reason.
derekshank
I'm definetly willing to give the dude some time... but at the same time... the way pressure is coming up the middle, and he's just getting bull-rushed, I don't know if he's really every going to be a future starter. He's certainly part of the problem with all the sacks and pressure getting to Palmer the last 2 games.Perhaps we'll be in Doug Datish out of Ohio State. We missed out on Mangold sweepstakes... but Datish looks every bit as good. We'd probably have to use a 2nd rounder on him though, and I'm not sure how I feel about another 2nd round pick on an O-Lineman.
ArmyBengal
I'm not sure how I feel about another 2nd round pick on an O-Lineman.Me neither, but if it means we won't see near as much as what we saw today out of the offensive line, then I say, GO FOR IT !!! It's only a matter of time before someone gets in a shot on Carson that involves the knee and then everyone will be jumping around like they never thought it was an issue...WHODEY !!! jditty47
guycheck is not the answer at center, that is most likely apparent. we need braham back, thats for sure. wilkerson isnt the answer either. i wouldnt mind seeing stienbach moved to center after the bye till braham comes back and move andrews into the starting lineup at gaurd, and have him and witworth alternate. guycheck will get better, but i dont think he'll ever be dominant. Dadraftnick
Carson Palmer is the Bengals, with out him this team wins a handful of games-PERIODWith Carson coming back from an injury which used to end careers a few years ago,he already has enough to worry about. No one has ever came back as soon as he has from this type of injury.I am not too worried about hurting Ghiaciuc's feelings,I am worried about hurting Carson's leg.Ghiaciuc has got to go.Ghiaciuc was not even all conference at tiny Central Mich,Wilkerson was All American, give Wilkerson a chance at C. walshfan
Guycheck has gone up agasint Casey Hampton and Richard Seymour in his first two starts..three if you want to include the Jax game last year.He also went up agaisnst Dick Lebeau and Bill Belichick schemes..What do you expect from him at this point??? DontPushMe
I cant believe people are actually calling for Wilkerson. You must really want to get carson on IR if you think Wilkerson belongs in front of him.
