derekshank Posted September 26, 2006 Report Posted September 26, 2006 I guess note even Prisco at CBS can ignore us anymore!http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/powerranking?source=navhttp://www.sportsline.com/nfl/powerrankingshttp://sports.espn.go.com/chat/sportsnatio...stranker?id=548 Quote
BengalszoneBilly Posted September 26, 2006 Report Posted September 26, 2006 These guy's and their comments, like this one from the ESPN:Marvin Lewis said Odell Thurman's DUI arrest 'is not going to affect our football team.' That might be true, but at some point all the off-field issues are going to bite the Bengals.Oh really? So far the only one who's been remotely right about the effects on the team concerning off field issues with individual Bengals players has been Marvin. He has consistently said there wouldn't be any, and judging by the 3-0 start...you just can't argue with those results! One side note...I think ranking Pittsburgh at #15 is a bit too high, don't you guys? Quote
Stripes Posted September 26, 2006 Report Posted September 26, 2006 ESPN made the right move putting us at #2 (the highest I've ever seen the Bengals in their rankings), but they couldn't resist falling into the same retarded logic that had them all dead wrong in their offseason predictions. Quote

OTOH, espn will likely be right is all those off-field issues start translating into more and/or longer suspensions.Anyhow, fox agrees: No. 2:http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/powerRankings Quote
derekshank Posted September 27, 2006 Author Report Posted September 27, 2006 Not that they really know what they are talking about... but Tony and Wilbon on PTI talked about which team is better... the Colts or the Bengals. They both said basically "It's a coin flip. They are the 2 best teams in the NFL, and are probably going to be the AFC Championship game." It's just nice to be hearing the Bengals get this much respect. Quote
agreen_112 Posted September 27, 2006 Report Posted September 27, 2006 We're better than the Colts. This will be the year that we beat them. Last two years, we've studied and learned them, its our year! Quote
BlainThePain Posted September 27, 2006 Report Posted September 27, 2006 Didn't Prisco only say we'd only get six wins this season? What a tool. Quote
membengal Posted September 27, 2006 Report Posted September 27, 2006 And, finally si.com is up (Paul Zimmerman's, actually), and for the first time ever since these kinds of rankings came into vogue, well, the Bengals are at #1. Seriously.http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/writ...nks1/index.html Quote

That is the shock of the century....Well just behind Peter King having them #1, which will never happen unless they win the SB.... Quote
Stripes Posted September 27, 2006 Report Posted September 27, 2006 Something isn't right... the Bengals are listed in those power rankings, with nobody above them. That can't happen, right? Quote

coupdayta Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 If any of you remember my post from last week, I complained about Dr. Z devoting an unnecessary amount of time to talking about the Steelers and being scared about Big Ben getting hit. I labeled him a wussy Steelers fan.Well...http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/writ...nks1/index.htmlBengals ranked #1 in his rankings this week.I'll swallow my pride and say a big WHO DEY! Quote
JaxonFord87 Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 I don't try to read into the power polls too much...just because we are #1 doesn't lessen the chances of us losing a game. Quote
BlainThePain Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 I think the Bears should be number 2 Quote
