ShulaSteakhouse
I believe Odell may be suspended for the rest of the season by the NFL due to this being his 3rd drug/alcohol related incident.
agreen_112
Some of you guys are crazy! Odell's not going to get kicked off the team, he isn't a waste of life or whatever the hell you guys are talking about. He got pulled over for DUI. Yeah he has a suspension pending for failing to meet the NFL substance abuse policy but this is alcohol. I'm glad to know that the Bengals where out celebrating the victory against the Steelers! Who Dey. O-dog will be back after his 4 game suspension, without question. Guys, you really need to stop jumping to conclusions, didn't anyone learn anything from Henry's mistakes. There's no way in hell that Henry was going to be cut (no matter how many fans wanted him gone) and no way Odell will be kicked off the team... Quit hatin', let the NFL worry about it. Nothing will come of this at least until next year, I'd say around March or April. Can't wait to see you back on the field O-dog Dude...relax. Odell isnt learning from his own mistakes yet you tell us to learn from ours regarding jumping to conclusions? Give me a break.odell's actions and your stupidity have nothing in common and cannot even be compared. I'm chill dude, chill as I can be sitting in my office chair, soaking in the victory over the squeelers
rwalling
.017 is getting up there....Odumb is on the wrong track and it'll most likely get worse before it gets better. Personally, I couldn't give a sh#t less about a dumba$$ like this any more than say Lewis Billups. Maybe that's what the league ought to do...rent a limo and drive Dopey and Odumb to Lewis Billups' grave (if there even is one).Sheer idiocy. But the field is the field. Hopefully Odumb is on the roster toward the end of the year and into the post season because even if the Bengals don't need him to start, the depth is an advantage. Retards like Dopey and Odumb can make it harder to root for a team that has to rely on such morons for success on the field.Couldn't agree with you and Army more. What will it take for these morons to get it?!?Losing big money? An injury? How about a fatality in an accident they cause? What's it going to take for them to bottom out?!? agreen_112
I'm sorry but losing big money isn't in their fate. Because as soon as the Bengals where to cut one of these guys you can bet your ass that another team would scoop them up faster than you could say charlie. I don't understand why you would take this and blow it out of proportion, no one was injured or even killed for that matter. I'm sure that the "sober" driver that the police let drive home wouldn't of been in the car with Odell if he was really wasted. You never know, it could've been Henry who was sober. BengalByTheBay
They don't have a right to come into my house with no probable cause, so it should be the same for a car.How many miles per gallon do you get on your house? As for OT, I'm gonna wait & see, but it would seem to me that, since alcohol is a "substance", it just might be the case that he is up for another strike. Stripes
I doubt Odell will get the full year suspension for this, but this only makes the concern that he'll get caught with mary-jane again more valid.I think Odell will still be back after the bye week as planned, but not as a starter. And even then, I have to get caught three times doing these things before I am suspended from work for a year!Give me one other job whose requirements and restrictions are that limited and simple. Think I'm keeping somebody at my firm that can't follow rules that simple - nah baby nah! They don't have a right to come into my house with no probable cause, so it should be the same for a car.How many miles per gallon do you get on your house? You never know, it could've been Henry who was sober. The reason that we are "blowing this out of proportion " is that ,it is stupid and he is on suspension and I dont think that you are even allowed to drink when you are on substance abuse suspension and I know that he is not allowed to drink and drive (that will get you suspended by its self).I can promise you that Marvin has been over the subject with the players a million times as a group and individually.I know that he has said that they have someone to call if they need a ride when they are drunk. This idiot had one week left until he could start playing agin and now he is likely gone for the year.If Marvin does not make an example out of him and cut him.Which ultimately might be what it will take, Marvin cutting a top player to make the team realize he is serious. The reason that some of us are blowing it out of proportion is because, Odel makes this team better,he may be the best player on the defense.A few bucks for a taxi or limo would have saved his season instead he just flushed it. Kirkendall
Well, let me say this.I'm usually one that will wait to see the circumstances before I attack a player for his actions. Could it have been he was at a local bar with two players, talking about the game, he got a call that his woman was in serious trouble and took off?I don't suspect many of you will sit back and wait to see what happens. I just know there have been situations where I made incredibly horrible choices but felt at the time that I needed to do it because it must have been done. I'm not defending Thurman. But I'm not going to rip the guy because I just don't know what he did was stupid, or something he desperately had to do because he felt it was, in his mind, what must have been done. Let the league, team, law and Odell deal with this. I am basking in my joy e-mailing Steelers co-workers just how bad that loss was for them.. I'm having a GREAT time. agreen_112
With all the hating already going on about Odell's latest run in with the law, How do you feel? Should Marvin keep one of the best defensive rookies of 2005 or cut him and make an example for the rest of the team to follow?Well it was supposed to be a poll, but i screwed it up.... Someone make this a poll.
bengalboomer7
Even if someone wanted to you can't cut him. the NFLPA would file a grievance in a heartbeat. It absolutely won't happen until at the very earliest sometime in the offseason

Tasher
Come on! he's a total stud. He is 22 or so years old. How many questionable decisions have we all made between 20 and whenever? He will pull it together, we just have to keep in mind that these guys (and so do they) are in the spotlight (how many others were arrested last night that are not on the front page?).He will atone for his mistakes and move on. but he does not need to move on FROM the Bengals. We also need to keep in mind that while his suspension is "drug policy violation" related, he was not using drugs and has not failed a drug test. He skipped or missed or whatever during the summer due to schedule conflicts or whatever which the NFL views as the same as a failed test. Marvin and the staff will get him back on track.I have faith!Odell will be okay.
johnstownsteel
I'm going to reserve judgement for now considering Thurmans age. I admit to doing some pretty stupid things in my early twentys and that was without all the money and fame. You've got to remember, many of these players have grown up in pretty tough situations, without fathers or role models to lead them. Could you imagine being paid millions when at times in their lives they were just happy to have a meal on the table? In a way, he's probably living the high life he never had a chance to do while in his teens. The kind of fun he watched many of his classmates have while feeling left out. I don't know him so I could be totally off base here.I'm not condoning anything Thurman has done but I can't put him down either. People can change and learn from their mistakes. Given his age, he deserves that chance to prove many of us wrong. I'll say this, having Marvin Lewis as a coach and a mentor can't be a bad thing. If I were to bet right now, I'd say these days will be forgotten and Thurman will be a hero again. But again, I could be wrong.

duus
You've got to be kidding, right? Just allow this to play out and see what happens. That said, I would like to see Lewis take an upper hand on these things. That may or may not already be happening. Probably is, but the guys are just being kids. Ugh. Hate that. I'm having a GREAT time.Very true kirk,It's funny how some people who love henry are ready to sell out odell because of short memorys... if he came back week 5 and played awesome everyone would be all over his sack again just like they are on henrys now....The arrest couldn't have come at a more inopportune time for the Bengals, who went into Heinz Field on Sunday and humbled the Pittsburgh Steelers. The fact that a carload of players were out celebrating the victory by getting blotto (we can only presume that no one in the car was sober, since common-sense suggests that the sober one would have been driving) strongly suggests that coach Marvin Lewis still has a loooooong way to go before he gets some of his guys to understand the difference between acceptable and unacceptable off-field conduct.Wow! so you can't drink now?I understand drinking well driving but Knocking people because they freaking drink? How many fans are fing wasted at games o_O (from pft btw)
