Kazkal Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 Makes sense sense chatmans doing awhole lot of nothing I guess AJ or wilkins gets the axe afterall. Quote
skyline Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 Kick returner, perhaps?Or an extra WR in case TJ isn't ready and Tab Perry sits out? Quote
bengalboomer7 Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 Couple questions. I think I know thw answer, but here goes.1. Once you activate a player off the PS, you can't put him back there the rest of the year, right? What about ever(I'm pretty sure the PS just has to do with your first three years in the league)2. Can we fill that PS void? resign Erik Meyer or something?I would imagine Mcneal fills the KR role, hopefully marvin will try him out at PR too(after the games decided, don't just throw him to the wolves) i doubt you see him line up when the offense os on the field Quote
duus Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 I smell the Bengals serving the Steelers a little dish of their trickery. HeHeHe. Quote
ShulaSteakhouse Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 Good for Reggie. Sounds like Perry is probably questionable then and Chatman is still out. They simply need another body. Quote
AMC Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 I smell the Bengals serving the Steelers a little dish of their trickery. HeHeHe.Maybe a little trickery surrounded by a whole lot of smashmouth! Quote

As for the void, yes we can fill it, but with Thurman coming off his suspension soon they may not want to. Someone might get bounced down there soon. Quote
Bungle in the Jungle Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 I heard that once you activate someone from the PS they have to remain on the active roster for at least three weeks (or games? not sure how the bye factors into this) Quote
ArmyBengal Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 I personally don't think it means a d*mn thing worth noting...WHODEY !!! Quote
Kazkal Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 wonder if doug gets the axe sense like article said marvin said he'd be playing some QB Quote
duus Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 I personally don't think it means a d*mn thing worth noting...WHODEY !!!Yep, correct. Funny how the PS guy is always the guy talked about on every team. Sort of like the 3rd string QB (except for the Bengals ... I don't even want to consider that!!!!) Quote
HoosierCat Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 That's what I figured they'd do. OL isn't needed if Levi's going to play. McNeal will stay up until Odell returns, at which point we will probably have to hope he clears waivers...again. Quote
Kazkal Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 inless they IR chatman if he isent healthy by week 5/6Also I don't think Mcneal would go back to the PS again he'd probbley take his chances in the CFL after getting his hopes up being activated just to be waived again and ps'd Quote
BlainThePain Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 I've decided to post here. Quote
Dadraftnick Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 I think its stupid to activate McNeal and not activate Ben Wilkerson if a Ghiaciac goes down then they could be hurting. Not to mention sometimes 2 OL go down in a game,if Stienbeck and Ghiaiauc go down then you are really screwed besides, I think Wilkerson is a better C.The Question is are you going to make sure you protect your franchise QB coming back from injury and playing against one of the best pass rushing teams in the league or are going to have an extra toy you leave in the toy box and dont play with (translation they probably wont activate him).Perry has said that he WILL play.If there is one thing this team has its plenty of WR's.If Chatam cant go at this point he should be on IR or cut anyway and then you activate McNeal. Kazkal Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 I think its stupid to activate McNeal and not activate Ben Wilkerson if a Ghiaciac goes down then they could be hurting.that happens youd see steinbach the center / whitworth starting LG Quote
schweinhart Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 Yeah the Bengals would be worse off than when they had to play dial-a-center in the middle of a hurricane since at least then Steinbach was still healty. Bluto and Steiny go down and there's no hiker.I like the McNeal activation though so long as they dump Doug Johnson when Odell gets back. I mean, really, if it comes down to Doug Johnson playing QB there's some serious problems. Now they know Carson is working out there's no need for Doug. Quote
Kazkal Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 Aye,If you lose carson and wright you might as well throw mcneal in there and mybe he'll spice games up to be enjoyable cause we lose wright and carson were screwed anyways. Quote
Stripes Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 Agreed on giving Dougie the boot, but I don't expect it to happen. The coaches seemed confident in both backups through training camp and the preseason, and I don't see them giving up a season just because the third QB has to play. They never booted Krenzel midseason. I'd say the most likely departure is Wilkins. Quote
Kazkal Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 but they stated Mcneal will get reps at QB,They diden't have mcneal last year now they do,why would marvin lie to him? it seems obivous ML and brown wanna keep him around if they told him that. Quote
TJJackson Posted September 20, 2006 Author Report Posted September 20, 2006 I'd say the most likely departure is Wilkins.Thats just crazy talk given his high level of play on special teamsIt'll be an inactive player like Nicholson Quote
Kazkal Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 inless AJ can step it up by then or they just throw him on the PS. Quote

I'm just shy to the thought of Marvin dumping such a recent draft pick. I wouldn't care either way though. Quote
Kazkal Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 well woulden't be dumping be waiving ala mcneal. Quote
