derekshank
I smell a trap game...Yeah... like I said, I wouldn't be surprised if it is way closer than we want it to be. They're a divisional foe, so anything could happen. I would be incredibly surprised if we lost... but also not shocked if we won by less than a TD. membengal
I just don't get the impression this team, as cliche as it sounds, it focused on anything other than the game at hand. Add in the home crowd etc., and I think Cleveland has their full attention...

Add in the home crowd etc., and I think Cleveland has their full attention...I'm not saying they won't be prepared. They get to play Cleveland twice a year, so they know better than anyone what to expect... but that means so do the Browns. Divisional rivalries are tricky. That's all I'm saying. I expect a double digit victory... but wouldn't be shocked if it were by much less.
Stripes
This doesn't look like a trap game to me. If it weren't the home opener, I might think differently. This is still a semi-rivalry. The Bengals will want to start off on a good note in division play.
HairOnFire
I smell a trap game... Not me. Tasher, all I smell is cheerleader # 45 from your sig. For the record, a dash of vanilla, a hint of citris, and the ever-so-slight wafting of ocean whitefish. I love her.

I was responding more to tasher, in that the classic "trap game", in my estimation, involves teams looking ahead and past their current opponent. I don't think, in response to "trap game" concerns, that is an issue here. Now, the fact that Cleveland tends to play them tough? Certainly an issue, but at least I think they are giving Cleveland their full attention...
Jonboat
Line on the game opened with the Bengals as 11, count 'em 11-point favorites. Worthwhile observation from Don Banks today...• The curse of the Browns center lives on. Newly acquired Hank Fraley, the 117th guy to play the position for Cleveland since the start of training camp, had a memorable debut at home against the Saints. He gave up three sacks to New Orleans defensive tackle Brian Young, which were more than Young recorded in the past two seasons combined, a span of 31 starts. I bet Adams & Peko are licking their chops right now.Derek if it's alot like KC I'll take that anyday I expect the Clowns to play much better,at least the Defense, after getting beat @ home they're going to have a big chip on their shoulders & as others have said when it comes to these teams you can throw the records out the window. HoosierCat
PFW's picks for the week. Despite the 11 point spread, they are going with the Bengals.http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW/Handi...elections02.htm
Stripes
I'm surprised to see the lines open with Pittsburgh an underdog in Jacksonville.
Casey
Did anyone catch the end of the Browns game? They had a real chance to win the game but a wide open Braylon Edwards dropped a perfectly thrown pass...tipping it into the air....resulting in an interception. The first thing I thought of was the television commercial where Edwards puts on a blindfold and catches pass after pass in true Zen style. I was thinking the exact same thing. PMThor
Overconfidence can be a dangerous thing....Yet I know the Bengals will win. I can't wait to do the chicken dance.
DCKRIMMER
I don't see this as a trap game. I don't see these guys looking ahead to the Stillers. These guys know the best way to get revenge is not only to win head to head but the division also. Win more games than them and ultimately win the Super Bowl. That is the pay back. Nothing else will suffice to them or us fans.
derekshank
PFW's picks for the week. Despite the 11 point spread, they are going with the Bengals.http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW/Handi...elections02.htmThat's pretty impressive. Teams don't often win by that much, so for the consensus to be that the Bengals will win by more than 11... well, that just speaks volumes. On the Jags being favored over Pitt... I mentioned several times this off-season that the Jags were under-rated. I don't care if their schedule was soft last year. They were 12-4, and you don't do that in the NFL without being a good team. It seems like after week 1 many experts are jumping on the bandwagon. They will have every opportunity to beat the Steelers. The Steelers still appear to be good, so it won't be a gimme... especially since Pittsburgh was given an unfair advantage by the league with 10 days to prepare, but I imagine that Jacksonville will bring a better game than Miami did on Thursday. Here's to hoping they beat the stuffing out of Big Ben.
Who?
The Browns have a lot of injuries, but I can't really make excuses for the way they played the other day. It was absolutely horrible, and they should put up a much better show in Cincy on Sunday.
schweinhart
Clowns had a couple big plays negated by holds and a couple bad turnovers with Frye throwing a terrible pick one one and another a fumble on a seriously doomed draw play. They'll have to play mistake free to even hope to keep it close vs. Bengals. And they'll have to rev up a pass rush or Palmer will pick them apart vs. crap CBs like Leigh Bodden and Ralph Brown.
