Pre-season bliss.

As good as it gets, watching Palmer work tonight.

All of the noise that was hovering over the team about Palmer, the knee, the alleged "rift with Lewis, all lifted and went away early in the second quarter.

Even the ESPN 3 stooges gave Palmer his due and waited until the 2nd half to snipe about the dumb boobs on the team or jabber about Chad and his banned celebrations. No question this was a monumental return by Palmer and even the stupidest of the national media should find Palmer's performance "spectacular" like the one little ESPN imp said. The promise of the 2006 Bengals with Palmer in place should be infinitely more interesting story wise than the likes of dipstick TO, the never-ending saga of Big Bozo and all the pinhead sniping about Dopey and the other boobs on the team.

This looks a lot more like the start to the Super Bowl than last year did and with a healthy Palmer, the Bengals got to be looking more like odds on favorites to get there from the AFC. The KC game will be about as big of a season opener as it gets.

Just back from the game.

That was utter and total domination.

I won't even talk about Palmer.

Let's talk about the defense.

In the first half, every down, the defense was either rushing Favre into making a bad pass, stuffing the fun, or getting a turnover. I could not believe the hustle I saw from the defense. Simply incredible.

Ignore the Palmer storyline (It is awesome though).

This is not the same defense we had the last couple of years. Everyone, and I mean everyone was shocked with their play. Simply amazing. This should be a special year.

Very good game all around. There are nits to pick but that's what film class the next day is for. D looked good mostly, Palmer was everything you could ask for at this point (get used to the ice on the knee, boss, it'll be there after every game this year), we saw Brazell, DeDe, even McNeal make some noise (heck, even Nicholson showed up late). TJ was Housmanzilla; too bad Chad didn't see a ball, nice job by the o-line. As always, it's only preseason, but this is the kind of preseason you want to see.

The biggest nits to pick were the play of Ratliff and Watson....Awful tonight....

Everything else....A+++++++++++++++

:horse: Miami here we come, you could not ask for anything better that what we saw last night...CPalmer the only QB in preseason to throw 3 TD passes in 1 game this year....the chemistry with TJ is/was awesome...the D especially the D-line deserve some props...I didn't think RJohnson was running hard the 1st 3-5 carries, then I saw a different RJohnson after that...CJohnson didn't get a ball from CPalmer, but he didn't pout about, he knows he will get plenty in a few weeks...welcome back Carson...

I don't know if it was just me or did Adams get ran over the first quarter and a half. Granett it was his first game but I'm not quite sold on Adam's yet; I think Peko will take his place by mid season. Thorton on the other hand looked great same with Rashad Jeanty. I love Pollak but he better watch out for Jeanty. Jeanty was so good attaching the hole tonight. What do you think?

I thought Adams played well. The pass rush looked great, and I'm not sure the linebackers and ends make that much noise without Fat Sam eating up blockers just like he's supposed to.

He might have gotten better later in the game but at the beginning of the game I saw him trip or just flat out get taken out several times. After a while I started concentrating on the LB's. I must say Brooks is coming along quite well. Did anybody see Thurman play? I was kind of upset that he didn't get any playing time what-so-ever. I guess he deserves it though.

Thurman got some time pretty late in the game, but it wasn't much. I guess Marvin is holding true to his positioning of Thurman on the depth chart.

Whether Adams played well or not though, I couldn't get over how huge he is. I'm not used to seeing that in a Bengal defender.

The Bengal's D looked amazing yesterday. But I wonder how much of that amounts to the inexperience Green Bay's O-Line. Either way just dominating at the line has to pump up the D to do it again. Not trying to be over critical because I was really pumped watching yesterday's game.

Anyone see that Ulti-Mo they used throughout the game. That was crazy when they showed plays so slow.

Last night was sheer heaven. For Bengals fans anyway; the rest of the AFC North just collectively crapped their pants. The Ratbirds, stains, and stealers are now trying to trade for Kimo, its about their only chance.

I play ff in a keeper league, so I couldnt draft Carson. (I had to "settle" for Peyton manning). I might be able to package a trade with the guy who has him; hes a Redskins homer and I drafted Chris Cooley for this very purpose.

Other observaations: I didnt think Adams played that badly, I saw him appear to collapse the run blocking on at least one play. Peko was everywhere AGAIN; I would say he'd be starting alongside Adams by mid-season, but I thought JT had a good game too. i guess well see what happens at KC.

I was at the game last night... and it was CRAZY!!! When Palmer came on the field, the place nearly came apart. When Palmer got hit the first time, and he jumped back up, I thought I was going to lose my hearing. When Palmer thre his first TD... well, see the above responses. That whole place was rocking.

In reference to Sam Adams play... It's hard for me to judge exactly how he played, since I didn't take notice of him on every play... but Thorton played out of his mind. That leads me to believe that Adams was taking double teams and allowing Thornton to run wild.

Yup. And how long have we said that would happen, that JT is a good 1-gap DT but has never had a big, domiant 2-gapper next to him that would let him shine? Maybe, just maybe, Adams is finally the one aging vet DT FA buy that actually pans out.

Everybody was impressed with Palmer...He is one of the top QBs in the game and if he can stay healthy that team can not only win our division again but go deep into the playoffs...Defense was fast and active and that #93 whoever he is is really good...Marv Lewis knows talent and I like his players...Dom Peko was a great pickup from MSU... :sure:

I give credit where it is due and the Bengals look awesome!!!

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, as the saying goes...

Honestly, I love this rivalry...I'm sort of wondering what is gonna happen week 3 now...Palmer came into our stadium last year and just played well. Yes Ben was back from injury and he had a bad game, but the bottom line was the Bengals got a big win on the road and it pissed the Steelers off...This is gonna be the best rivalry in the NFL and it will be great with us doing it all year long!!! Damn can't wait to get this season started...

Damn it! Why are you here? You make it more difficult for me to hate all of Steelerdom without exception.

It's not impossible... but you are making it a bit more difficult. If there were more than one of you, I'd be forced to call my anti-Steeler fan worldview into question. This is why I thank God that you are the only Steeler fan I've ever seen post a nice thing here.
