HoosierCat Posted May 18, 2006 Report Posted May 18, 2006 http://www.bengals.com/news/news.asp?story_id=5263Good luck, Dennis. Gawd knows you're due for some. Quote
Stripes Posted May 18, 2006 Report Posted May 18, 2006 I'm sure he can catch on in some team's camp and get a chance to shine. G'luck to 'em. Quote
bengalboomer7 Posted May 18, 2006 Report Posted May 18, 2006 I, personally, will root hard fo the man (Unless he becomes a Steeler) Quote
ArmyBengal Posted May 18, 2006 Report Posted May 18, 2006 Just amazing after the accident and being in a coma. I remember doctors saying the guy was lucky to be alive after that one, let alone come back and play football. Here's hoping our defense has the same determination it took for Weathersby to come back and that he gets the chance to realize his dream !!! Good Luck !!!WHODEY !!! Quote
Kazkal Posted May 18, 2006 Report Posted May 18, 2006 I would if he became a steeler, the guy has been threw too much not too root for him.... I wanna see bengals bring him back lol mybe he can be our SS of the future Quote
HairOnFire Posted May 18, 2006 Report Posted May 18, 2006 The article claims it's doubful the Bengals will have any interest due to the players they've added since Weathersby was involved in the accident, but you'd have to assume both sides would discuss the matter. Interest in Weathersby around the NFL won't be strong due to the risk, but the Bengals have a relationship with the player, the doctors who treated him, and his family. A courtesy reach-around may be in order. Quote
BengalByTheBay Posted May 18, 2006 Report Posted May 18, 2006 In the immortal words of Ned Flanders: "Godspeed little doodle!!" Quote

TJJackson Posted May 19, 2006 Report Posted May 19, 2006 I'm assuming we waived him a long while back and no longer hold his signing rights? Quote
Kazkal Posted May 19, 2006 Report Posted May 19, 2006 He was cut after it looked like he woulden't play football Quote
Tasher Posted May 19, 2006 Report Posted May 19, 2006 I think you will all be proved wrong. The guy was a possible 1st/2nd round talent coming out of school before he was shot. The guy is 6'1'' 205lbs for Chriss Sake!Look around at all the teams that have secondary problems. You bring him in just for a look-see through training camp on an incentive laden contract and let him go to work. The BENGALS would be fools not to as well.My bet is the Pats, with all the secondary problems they have had over the years? This has NO risk whatsoever, if he dosen't pan out, you have invested nothing. Quote
Kazkal Posted May 19, 2006 Report Posted May 19, 2006 Yuyup, though I'd hate to see him end up a pat sense they won't be getting anymore rings Quote
Tasher Posted May 19, 2006 Report Posted May 19, 2006 How sweet would a set of CBs like this look:O'Neal - JamesJoseph - Ratliff - Weathersby (all backing up the Pro Bowlers or playing nickle/dime) good bye Mr Bauman! Instant DEPTH! Quote

Tasher Posted May 19, 2006 Report Posted May 19, 2006 Aye i'd take him over bauman or any udfa Now THAT'S what I'm talkin bout! Quote
GregCook Posted May 19, 2006 Report Posted May 19, 2006 Why can't the Bengals sign him to what he'll get from anyone, the minimum? The Bengals need depth at CB as we all know, Tory is aging, Ratliff doesn't have burner speed. Who doesn't need another big, fast, athletic corner?I say sign him. Quote

Spor_tees Posted May 19, 2006 Report Posted May 19, 2006 Why sign Weathersby when we can use that money to sign another WR? Quote
The_Next_Big_Thing Posted May 19, 2006 Report Posted May 19, 2006 If you are in the vicinity of Dennis Weathersby, do not look up. I predict it will rain pianos and safes in the next chapter of this cartoonish story.... Quote
