Whur CHad At?
Yeah said this in another thread. Pretty amazing, but I think we can handle most of these teams. It will be intresting, all we need is the D to step up and Carson to get healthy and we can do it.
Stripes
As has been said over and over and over and over and over and over, courtesy of Kimo...This will matter without Carson, but not so much with.

The_Next_Big_Thing
It's not simple math at all. This doesn't say squat about how hard a schedule is. It only says how well the teams we play this year did last year. It doesn't take into account free agency moves, injuries from last year that caused losses, timing of games this year, location of games, or many other things. Looking at just this table, the only difference between the "hardest" schedule and the "easiest" schedule is that the hardest teams opponents won... prepare yourself, this is monsterously HUGE, 1.5 games more on average than the easiest teams. That's not even a 10% difference between 1st and last. In other words, it means NOT A DAMN THING.
ArmyBengal
I haven't gone back to do the math, but those sites are reporting two different win / loss totals for the opponets... Anyway...WHODEY !!!

Everyone knew a long time ago that the schedule would be tough based upon the teams being played. The fact remains that it's a pretty favorable schedule based upon where the bye week comes and how things play out until very late in the season. And on that score, the season most definately does end on a very challenging note, but that's fine with me because the early part of the season is about as good as could be hoped for in regards to Palmer's injury. ShulaSteakhouse
It's all relative/dependent. But the Browns will be much tougher, so will the Ravens. And the non-division schedule is, simply put, brutal. The NFC is still crap, but the AFC is just tough for every team - not just the Bengals' now.Every other AFC team is probably saying the same things we are. TJJackson
I dunno, I just glanced at the schedule and shivered.9-7 might be a stretch even if we improve

That's not even a 10% difference between 1st and last. In other words, it means NOT A DAMN THING.Well...an average difference of 1.5 games is HUGE in the NFL. That's the difference between making the playoffs and not. A 10% difference in schedule difficulty is a fairly big skew. That said, I remember everyone saying the same thing last year, noting teams like Baltimore, GB, Vikings, etc that were supposed to be really tough. Then it turned into a relatively easy schedule when so many of those teams tanked. So there's no point in trying to fire up the old crystal ball. turningpoint
the 16 teams we play has been known since december when we won the division. The when and where is all that needed to be answered. There's 14 set games each year and division winners play the other division winner of the other AFC conferences we aren't schedualed to play . BengalszoneBilly
I can't give too much merit to these type of projections that are based in the previous seasons win/loss record. Every team has had numerous personel changes, some more critical than others, and the draft is still to come! You gotta have a crystal ball to call this thing on the money.Shula was right. The entire AFC will be a real tough schedule!
Kazkal
Teams jump around alot jets, bucs & bears last year but....alot teams stay the same colts...broncos...pat...... hopfully carson is 100% by week
bengalindian
Why are you all getting so depressed? The "SOS" doesn't say anything about how a team will perform the next season. It's the NFL--the league with the most parity. The Steelers may have a Super Bowl Hangover; the Pats are in a transition year; the Falcons still are overrated; the Browns still don't have a defense and the Ravens don't have a quarterback.....yet.Even more, you're not even giving any credit to the team you bleed for and root for every Sunday! The Bengals are a competitor; they're better than most of these teams. Keep your heads up for God's sake, it's time for the Jungle, baby! Bobcat Bengal
I dunno, I just glanced at the schedule and shivered.9-7 might be a stretch even if we improveYeah, what he said. Its funny how we get our first playoff berth in umpteenth years, and then they go and give us one of the toughest sked in the league.Kinda F'ed up, if you ask me.... The_Next_Big_Thing
1.5 games is a "lot"? Perhaps it could be the difference in the playoffs, but the fact remains, that's the best schedule vs. the worst schedule. The median is less than a full game. Less than 5% difference between any schedule. IT DOES NOT MEAN SQUAT.WE WILL WE WILL STOMP THEM!
ArmyBengal
Quit your b*tching people !!! Why are you just now complaining about the schedule ?? The d*mn thing has been out forever now, just like all of them through the 2009 season on Bengals.com. The only thing we found out yesterday is where and when we play... Why do we have a more difficult schedule ?? C'mon people, we won the division, hence we play the division champs from other divisions. This is not a new concept, so quit being a bunch of p*ssies and buck the f*ck up !!! WHODEY !!!
