The_Next_Big_Thing Posted March 15, 2006 Report Posted March 15, 2006 The only thing that keeps my hope alive is that Marvin knows how hard it is to find a DT in the draft. Quote

Whur CHad At? Posted March 15, 2006 Report Posted March 15, 2006 Why not sign Pickett and Adams? Quote
The_Next_Big_Thing Posted March 15, 2006 Report Posted March 15, 2006 Why not sign Pickett and Adams?Cause Pickett appears to have signed with the Fudgepackers! (Here's hoping he was a 1 year wonder!)Bring on the Beer Belly Polka! Quote
Whur CHad At? Posted March 15, 2006 Report Posted March 15, 2006 Come on Sam...we are waiting for you Quote
schweinhart Posted March 16, 2006 Report Posted March 16, 2006 Why bother with signing Sam Adams or any of the DTs who have fell by the wayside? No doubt Marvin has a master plan to wait for another big fatty to get kicked off a team in the middle of the year for thieving hamburgers. Or maybe Anthony Mitchell can get bulked up in time to play the line. Quote
BengalszoneBilly Posted March 16, 2006 Report Posted March 16, 2006 Rumor around other NFL forums (jetnation.com, etc,) is that he WILL sign with Cincy as soon as we sign a backup QB first. Personally I think he'd be a plus for the defensive line. Quote
schweinhart Posted March 16, 2006 Report Posted March 16, 2006 Sam Adams? Always a good idea, Mr. Broome. At 33, Sam Adams should be a better DT than just about all the other free agent DTs already signed -- including Ryan Pickett -- ever will be. And not much to think he won't be a better DT at 33 than any of the DTs currently on the Bengals roster ever have been or will be. Quote
TJJackson Posted March 16, 2006 Report Posted March 16, 2006 Sam Adams at 2 million or less per year for at least 3 years - a good deal, one worth consideringSam Adams for less time or more money or both? Not so much. Quote
HoosierCat Posted March 16, 2006 Report Posted March 16, 2006 I guess I'm in the minority on this one, but I get less interested in Sam Adams with every passing day. Initially I gave the idea the benefit of the doubt, namely that he had something left and could contribute. But given the complete lack of interest shown in him, I have to conclude that teams that have looked at him don't see anything worth buying. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted March 16, 2006 Report Posted March 16, 2006 I just see this as nothing more than the Bengals driving the price down on him. If he was anticipating so much money, he would've signed somewhere else already. I think we will get him at a good price and he will upgrade our porous d-line until we get someone better.I just want to see some fatass pick up some blockers to allow our "fast and athletic" LB's do what they were drafted to do...WHODEY !!!
