Whur CHad At? Posted March 12, 2006 Report Posted March 12, 2006 Since the Brandon Llyod deal went down, I hope they have a new intrest in Washington. They need a WR and they have been intrested in him before. All depends on if they go and sign Mr.Givens, but I hope they don'tI want that extra 3rd rounder! Quote
ArmyBengal Posted March 12, 2006 Report Posted March 12, 2006 I wouldn't mind seeing Washington go, but with no certainty with Henry, I just don't see it happening. I'd rather see Tab get his shot at WR and get another pick for Washington if I had my choice...WHODEY !!! Quote

Whur CHad At? Posted March 12, 2006 Author Report Posted March 12, 2006 The Texans are talking with Kelly Washington Quote
TJJackson Posted March 12, 2006 Report Posted March 12, 2006 A r3 pick from the Texans would be awesome :-)It's virtually a r2 pick! Quote
andybren Posted March 12, 2006 Report Posted March 12, 2006 The Texans were supposed to be interested in Kevin Walter, too, so that pick may be a 7th rounder instead. Quote
HoosierCat Posted March 12, 2006 Report Posted March 12, 2006 The Texans are talking with Kelly WashingtonThey are? I hadn't seen that. Kevin Walters was in Houston yesteday, but I didn't hear K-wash was too. Quote
HairOnFire Posted March 12, 2006 Report Posted March 12, 2006 Even the last remaining K-Dub pimp, yours truely, would jump on that. Quote
TJJackson Posted March 12, 2006 Report Posted March 12, 2006 The Texans were supposed to be interested in Kevin Walter, too, so that pick may be a 7th rounder instead.Well, a Texans 7 is much like a 6 :-)I'd hope to retain Walter, even at that......excellent on special teams, and a soldly good and tall posession receiver....a solid 3rd WR on most teams Quote
HairOnFire Posted March 12, 2006 Report Posted March 12, 2006 The Texans were supposed to be interested in Kevin Walter, too, so that pick may be a 7th rounder instead. As this boards weakest supporter of the other K-Dub, Kevin "White Bread" Walter, I'd jump on that one as well. Quote
Kazkal Posted March 12, 2006 Report Posted March 12, 2006 can't lose the squirrel....till he teachs the dance too our new TE Quote
derekshank Posted March 12, 2006 Report Posted March 12, 2006 With the inflated prices that FA's are getting, signing Washington for less than his tender probably would be a decent deal for most teams... and we'd geta 3rd round pick.If Henry is going to be back... I'm all for it... maybe even if he isn't. Washington is one of the first players that I started disliking while he was a Bengal. I've never seen so much celebration for so little accomplishment. It just gets under my skin.I'm always in favor of getting an extra draft pick. Washington is a better reciever than Walter... but not not so significantly that I'd pass up a 3rd round piack... and I still have high hopes for Tab Perry. I'm hoping someone does snatch him up. We can draft safety depth with that pick. Quote
Stripes Posted March 12, 2006 Report Posted March 12, 2006 I don't really care what happens to Washington if we are properly compensated... But I don't want to lose Walter for seventh rounder... I think he's done enough to show he's valuable depth. Quote

I think he's done enough to show he's valuable depth.Agreed. He's shown he can be clutch when we need WR depth... and he's a good special teamer. But if he does get snatched up... I don't know about matching the deal. There are probably better ways to use our money. And wasn't Tab Perry a 7th rounder? a WR of Walter's calber can probably be found with a 7th round compensation. Quote
andybren Posted March 12, 2006 Report Posted March 12, 2006 They should have offered Walter more than the minimum tender. He's worth more than a 7th round pick. Signing him should be a no-brainer for a team looking for a proven possession receiver.Washington on the other hand...I'd have second thoughts if I were a GM. Quote

And wasn't Tab Perry a 7th rounder? a WR of Walter's calber can probably be found with a 7th round compensation. Exactly. It isn't a question of if Walter has value. It's a question of cost, how long he can hold off Tab Perry for the 4th WR role, and if the Bengals can get something for him now as opposed to losing him for nothing next season. Quote
walshfan Posted March 13, 2006 Report Posted March 13, 2006 Walter has proved he can be an effective possesion receiver.Washington has proved nothing aside that he cant seperate quickly enough most of the time.. He doenst even like to play special teams.Let Washington go.. Ill buy his ticket to Frisco... Quote
Spain Posted March 13, 2006 Report Posted March 13, 2006 Hey hate nto tell you guys this but Washington is pretty good. Henry just out played him. Washington came in for Henry (I forget what game) and was a monster. He should definently stay. With that third we would just have to draft another WR. KW knows the system seems like a no brainer to me. Quote

As this boards weakest supporter of the other K-Dub, Kevin "White Bread" Walter, I'd jump on that one as well.I also like both of the K-Dubs. IIRC, my first moniker under Bengalszone was "Kelley Squirrel Boy Washington" (my, it's literally been ages, guys).Besides, they both beat the hell out of K-Fed. That being said, yeah, maybe a change of scenery is best for them both. We'd get picks in return, and they might flourish in the proper schemes for the proper teams. Quote
membengal Posted March 14, 2006 Report Posted March 14, 2006 Seems to me that if both KW and Walter leave via free agency, and with Henry's legal problems, that this team may actually be back in the WR market early in the draft, much earlier than any of us could have imagined. Quote
The_Next_Big_Thing Posted March 14, 2006 Report Posted March 14, 2006 If both KWs head to Houston, I wonder if we will consider a guy like Chad Jackson in round one? Quote

Seeing as how K-Wash leaving would get us another 3rd rounder, I think drafting a WR on day one would be almost a foregone conclusion. (With Walter gone as well) The question (or ? as Spain says) is what round ?? With two 3rd rounders (assuming K-Wash left) I would have to think the 3rd, but no earlier than the 2nd. WHODEY !!! Quote
